Objectives This study was aimed to evaluate clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) of traffic injuries, which has already been developed at domestic or outside of country, and to explore the Korean medical treatments included in the CPGs. Methods Twelve electronic databases (PubMed, Cochrane library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure [CNKI {Chinese Academic Journals, CAJ}], Research Information Sharing Service [RISS], Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System [OASIS], KoreaMed, Korean Medical Guideline Information [KoMGI), National Guideline Clearinghouse [AHRQ], Core Outcome Measures in Effectiveness Trials Initiative Website [COMET], Turning Research into Practice [TRIP], The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence [NICE], and Medical Research Information Center [MedRIC]) up to July 2021 were searched. Only systematically developed CPGs for traffic injuries were selected and appraised. The appraisal was conducted by using Appraisal of Guidelines for Research & Evaluation (AGREE) II tool. Results Six CPGs were included and evaluated. All CPGs were appraised as highly recommended because they exceeded 60% in more than 4 among 6 domains of AGREE II, including domain of 'rigor of development', and 30% in the rest. Recommendations related to Korean medicine treatments such as on manual therapy related to Chuna were given in 6 CPGs, 4 for acupuncture, 1 for Qigong and 1 for Taping. Conclusions The 6 CPGs were developed up to now through a systematic development methodology and there were many recommendations for Korean medical treatments related to manual (Chuna) treatment, acupuncture and Qigong. However, the evidence for the side effects and risk factors of Korean medical treatments was scantly reflected in CPGs. Therefore, it is considered that balanced CPG with benefits and risks should be developed, covering Korean medical diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.

Objectives This study is aimed to identify and evaluate the already developed clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) of temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and contribute to making decisions in developing Korean medicine CPG of TMD. Methods We searched electronic database and selected CPGs of TMD according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Then, we made appraisal of selected CPGs by using AGREE II (Appraisal of Guidelines for Research & Evaluation II). Results Four CPGs are included and appraised with AGREE II. Among 6 domains of AGREE II, all CPGs failed to score over 60% in four domains. Only one CPG mentioned acupuncture as an adjunctive treatment for myofascial TMD. Conclusions It is difficult to indicate that included CPGs are with sufficient quality to recommend and it appears not to be appropriate to apply these already developed CPGs in Korean medicine clinical fields. Therefore, developing a new Korean medicine clinical practice guideline of TMD is required.

Objectives This study was aimed to develop the clinical practice guideline for Soyangin symptomatology. It discussed the principle and method of application of clinical practice guideline for Soyangin symptomatology which focuses on symptomatology, not disease. Methods Based on the previous guidelines, we assessed the guidelines by Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation (AGREE II). After AGREE II assessment, we chose and revised the clinical practice guideline. Member of writing committee reviewed and examined "Donguisusebowon" and many articles for developing clinical practice guidelines. Draft of clinical practice guideline was reviewed by advisory committee and approved by Society of Sasang Constitutional Medicine. Results & Conclusions By researching and discussing the Soyangin symptomatology, we establish the evaluation criteria for diagnosis including classification, definition and develop diagnostic algorithm and treatment assessing tool.

본 연구는 입원환자들의 급성 악화 시 신속한 대응을 위한 근거 기반 가이드라인을 개발하고자 수행되었다. 가이드라인 개발을 위해 기존의 가이드라인을 검색하였고, 총 13편이 선정되어 가이드라인에 대한 Appraisal of guidelines for research and evaluation (AGREE II) 도구를 활용한 질 평가, 최신성 평가, 권고 내용 비교표를 통한 내용 및 권고안의 근거평가, 권고의 수용성 및 적용성 평가를 수행하였다. 본 가이드라인은 신속대응체계의 개념 모형에 따라 관리, 인식, 활성화, 대응, 평가에 대한 권고로 구성되어 있다. 전문가 16명에게 가이드라인 초안의 적절성, 적용 가능성, 효과성에 대한 평가와 적용 여부에 대한 검토를 통해 최종적인 평가 결과를 반영하여 130개의 권고를 확정하였다. 가이드라인의 실무 적용성 평가를 위해 임상 현장에서 신속대응 업무를 수행하는 간호사를 대상으로 실무 적용성을 파악한 결과, 가이드라인에 대한 전체 실무 적용성 평균은 5점 만점에 4.41±0.78점으로 지침 내용에 대한 실제 임상 업무에서의 적용성이 높은 것으로 나타났다.

Methods Donguisusebowon and many articles were reviewed and examined for developing clinical practice guidelines. After AGREE II assessment, we chose and revised the clinical practice guideline. Background: Evidence-based clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) are defined as "statements that are scientifically reviewed about evidence and systematically developed to assist in the doctors' and patients' decision making in certain clinical situations." This recommendation aims to promote good clinical practice for the provision of safe and effective practices of conscious sedation in dentistry. Method: The development of this clinical practice guideline was conducted by performing a systematic search of the literature for evidence-based CPGs. Existing guidelines, relevant systematic reviews, policy documents, legislation, or other recommendations were reviewed and appraised. To supplement this information, key questions were formulated by the Guideline Development Group and used as the basis for designing systematic literature search strategies to identify literature that may address these questions. Guideline documents were evaluated through a review of domestic and international databases for the development of a renewing of existing conscious sedation guidelines for dentistry. Clinical practice guidelines were critically appraised for their methodologies using Appraisal of guidelines for research and evaluation (AGREE) II. Results: A total of 12 existing CPGs were included and 13 recommendations were made in a range of general, adult, and pediatric areas. Conclusion: The clinical practice guidelines for conscious sedation will be reviewed in 5 years' time for further updates to reflect significant changes in the field.
