Utilization of Ready-mixed Concrete Recycling Water Mixed with Hot-rolled Slag Containing C12A7 and Application Characteristics of Cement Mortar (C12A7을 함유한 열연슬래그를 혼입한 레미콘 회수수 활용 및 시멘트 모르타르의 적용 특성)

  • CaO-based by-products composed of CaO, SO3, Al2O3, etc. are generally used as raw materials for CaO compounds. When applied to the recovered water of ready-mixed concrete, the hydration reaction of the powder material is accelerated and concrete performance can be improved. In this study, activated sludge was prepared to apply to the recovered water of ready-mixed concrete by mixing CaO-based hot-rolled slag(C12A7) in the recycling water of ready-m ixed concrete. Cem ent paste setting time and mortar compressive strength performance tests confirmed the effect on the hydration reaction. Therefore, the possibility of concrete application using activated sludge was confirmed.

  • A number of MPLS ATM systems have been proposed to increase the access speed of current rooters, which only support the beat-effort service. However, the MPLS ATM systems have to support the so-called differential service, which discriminates the applications according to the servile clads because they do not be satisfied the Internet users who use diverse applications. In this paper, to support this differential service a detailed forwarding procedure based on a LSP control method and an application-based marking algorithm is suggested. The LSP control method establishes several different LSPs for each FEC according to the service class and the application-based marking algorithm chooses a proper differential service depending on the application category. Also, a design scheme of forwarding engine, which can be easily implemented with a minimum modification of existing MPLS ATM systems is proposed. And, the best simulation result of high priority application category is gained when the proposed forwarding algorithm is compared with existing algorithms.

Development of an Optimized Algorithm for Bidirectional Equalization in Lithium-Ion Batteries

  • Many equalization circuits have been proposed to improve pack performance and reduce imbalance. Although bidirectional equalization topologies are promising in these methods, pre-equalization global equalization strategy is lacking. This study proposes a novel state-of-charge (SoC) equalization algorithm for bidirectional equalizer based on particle swarm optimization (PSO), which is employed to find optimal equalization time and steps. The working principle of bidirectional equalization topologies is analyzed, and the reason behind the application of SoC as a balancing criterion is explained. To verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, a pack with 12 LiFePO4 batteries is applied in the experiment. Results show that the maximum SoC gap is within 2% after equalization, and the available pack capacity is enhanced by 13.2%. Furthermore, a comparison between previously used methods and the proposed PSO equalization algorithm is presented. Experimental tests are performed, and results show that the proposed PSO equalization algorithm requires fewer steps and is superior to traditional methods in terms of equalization time, energy loss, and balancing performance.

  • In this paper, the performance analysis for multimedia video codec(MPEG-4, H.264) on on-chip network communication architecture is presented. The On-Chip Network (OCN) is the new communication architecture of multimedia SoC design that overcomes the limits of On-Chip Bus architecture by providing higher data traffic bandwidth, reusability and higher scalability. We compared the performance of MPEG-4, H.264 decoder based on-chip network and AMBA on-chip bus. Experimental results show that the performance of MPEG-4, H.264 based on on-chip network is improved over 33~56% compared to the design based on AMBA on-chip bus.

Silicon Carbide Coating on Graphite and Isotropic C/C Composite by Chemical Vapour Reaction

  • The application of Carbon and graphite based materials in unprotected environment is limited to a temperature of $450^{\circ}C$ or so because of their susceptibility to oxidation at this temperature and higher. To over come these obstacles a low cost chemical vapour reaction process (CVR) was developed to give crystalline and high purity SiC coating on graphite and isotropic C/C composite. CVR is most effective carbothermal reduction method for conversation of a few micron of carbon layer to SiC. In the CVR method, a sic conversation layer is formed by reaction between carbon and gaseous reagent silicon monoxide at high temperature. Characterization of SiC coating was carried out using SEM. The other properties studied were hardness density and conversion efficiency.

  • Deposits of SiC has been formed by a chemical vapor deposition technique involving the application of gaseous mixture of $CH_3SiCl_3$ (MTS) and $H_2$ onto graphite substrate. These are non-fluid bed deposits prepared in an induction-heated reactor. From the experimental results, the deposition reaction of SiC is controlled by surface reaction mechanism at the temperature range between $1,100^{\circ}C$ and $1,400^{\circ}C$. The morphology of the SiC deposits changes from amorphous type to coarse, faceted structure as temperature increase.

  • The pressure-area isotherm of monolayer at the air-water interface were obtained and the LB films were fabricated onto a quartz slides and quartz crystal by conventional Langmuir-Blodggett(LB) method. The UV absorption spectra of Langmuir-Blodggett(LB) film on quartz slides and spectrum of monolayer formed on quartz crystal have been measured. The photoisomerization of the long-chain fatty avid containing azobenzene were obtained by the application of UV and visible light. The reversibility of photoisomerization were more clear difference when the number of C$\_$n/ increased. At the pressure-area isotherms, the value of surface pressure increment were decreased when the number of C$\_$n/ increased, A surface pressure of 20mN/m was obtained as a proper one for a film deposition. The photoisomerization at LB films were also obtained by application of UV and visible light. So the LB film of long-chain fatty acid containing azobenzene has possibility to being applies to functional molecular devices such as photomemory and light switching.

Comparison Before and After the Application of the Computerized Cognitive Rehabilitation Program(CoTras-C) for Children with Cerebral Palsy (뇌병변 장애 아동의 아동용 전산화 인지재활 프로그램(CoTras-C) 사용 전·후 비교)

  • Purpose : In this study, we applied a computerized cognitive rehabilitation program (CoTras-C) for children with cerebral palsy. Research was conducted to investigate the impact of upper limb function, sensory function, and activities of daily living. Methods : The study period lasted 10 weeks from October 2019 to December 2019. The study subjects were 12 subjects according to the selection criteria, and a computerized cognitive rehabilitation program (CoTras-C) was conducted twice a week for 30 minutes before and after the application of basic occupational therapy. Results : As a result of the computerized cognitive rehabilitation program, scores of upper limb function (QUEST), sensory function (SSP-2), and daily life activity (WeeFIM) were significantly improved (p>.05). From the result of examining the motor area, improvement in fine-motor function and protective extension through touch pad or controller operation was found. It also showed improvement in activities of daily living including motor and activities of daily living including social cognition. In the sensory function evaluation, it was not significant in movement sensitivity. Significant differences were shown in the items excluding olfactory/taste sensitivity. Conclusion : The application of the computerized cognitive rehabilitation program (CoTras-C) showed significant results in upper limb function, sensory function, and daily life activities of children with brain lesions. Based on these results, future studies need to generalize the study by expanding the age or population of children with brain lesions, or by expanding the diversity of diseases and environments.

A Putative Early Response of Antifungal Bacillus lentimorbus WJ5 Against the Plant Pathogenic Fungus, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, Analyzed by a DNA Microarray

  • The global RNA transcription profiles of Bacillus lentimorbus WJ5 under an in vitro co-culture with Colletotrichum gloeosporioides were analyzed in order to study the antagonistic bacteria-fungi interactions. Using a filter membrane system, B. lentimorhus WJ5 was exposed to the spores of C. gloeosporioides at the late exponential stage. The transcription profiles of the B. lentimorhus WJ5, both with and without a challenge from C. gloeosporioides, were analyzed using custom DNA chips containing 2,000 genome fragments. A total of 337 genes were expressed, with 87 and 47 up- and down-regulated, respectively. Of these, 12 genes, which were involved in central carbon metabolisms, and 7 from minor catabolism were relatively highly up-regulated (> 10 fold) and down-regulated (< 0.2 fold), respectively. Nine genes, which were thought to be related to the antifungal activity, were also up-regulated, but their levels were not so high (2.0 - 9.7 folds). From the results, during the early stage of the co-culture of B. lentimorbus WJ5 and C. gloeosporioides, nutrient competition seemed to occur; therefore, the genes from central carbon metabolisms could be up-regulated, while those from minor catabolism could be down-regulated.

Alleviative Effects of Jujube Water Extract on the Inflammation and Barrier Damage in Hairless Mice Skin (Hairless 마우스에서 대추 열수추출물의 피부내 염증 및 장벽 손상 완화 효과)

  • To investigate the alleviative effects of jujube water extract (JWE) on the inflammation and skin barrier damage, both the irradiation of UVB and the application of squalene monohydroperoxide (Sq-OOH) were applied to the back skin of experimental animals for 4 weeks. And at the same time experimental materials were applied topically. Six weeks female SKH-1 hairless mice were divided into five groups (five animals for each group) including normal (N; saline), control (C; UVB+Sq-OOH+saline), vehicle control (VC; UVB+Sq-OOH+vehicle), positive control (PC; UVB+Sq-OOH+0.01% retinoic acid) and experimental (E; UVB+Sq-OOH+JWE) groups. The skin erythema index in the E group was significantly low compared to the C group (p<0.05). Lipid (p<0.05) and water (p<0.01) capacities in the E group were significantly high compared to the C group. In comparison with the C group, E group showed a relatively well preserved lipid lamellae in the epidermis and a relatively much less infiltration of mast cells in the dermis or hypodermis. As for the both absolute and relative weights of the spleen, PC group were significantly higher than the other groups. These results suggest that JWE have a considerably inhibitory effect on the inflammation and the skin barrier damage induced by UVB irradiation and Sq-OOH application.
