The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between shopping orientation and purchasing satisfaction of apparels. To achieve the purpose, this study was carried out by means of questionnaires with female consumers aged from 20s to 50s in Daegu. The data were analysed by the frequency analysis, percentage, reliability test, factor analysis, Pearson's correlation analysis, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range analysis. The statistical package for social science 9.0 for Window was used for the statistical processing of the data. The result of this study is summarized as follows. 1. To examine factors which construct female consumers' shopping orientation for apparels, a factor analysis was done, therefore, which obtained 6 factors. Also A factor analysis was done to examine the motivative factors of satisfaction with purchased apparels, 6 factors were obtained. 2. Based on the average score of shopping-orientation factors for apparels, a cluster analysis was done and it was classified into 3 clusters. There were differences in purchasing satisfaction of purchased apparels between the 3 clusters. 3. The differences in variety, shopping convenience, dignity, brand & preference, and convenient selection between the clusters were entirely p<0.001 which were very significant. There were no differences in the quality and service factors between the brand-/practicality-oriented cluster and entertainment-oriented cluster. With other factors, entertainment-oriented cluster was most satisfied than brand-/ practicality oriented cluster. But, self-reliance-oriented cluster was lowest purchasing satisfaction of apparels.

This study is aimed at investigating and developing the use and sizing system of the apparels listed in on-line and catalog shopping in Korea. This is a basic study for an apparel sizing system to be developed, which could be used to approach consumers more easily and provide improved fitness and accuracy in terms of size and style of apparels for fashion E-commerce. A survey was conducted among the consumers who are more than 18-years-old and purchased more than two times the apparels listed in on-line and catalog shopping of two selected catalog shopping enterprises, and its statistical results are analysed from 281 respondents' questionnaires. The results of the study are as follows: 1. According to the result of the survey on the use and sizing system of the apparels listed in. on-line and catalog shopping, the consumers who purchased once apparels continue doing so in the same manner. A catalog shopping is the most preferred form of shopping. The most dissatisfying part in purchasing apparels is a poor quality of 'texture', and the second biggest problem is about 'size'About 51.2 percent of the apparels were not worn or even returned, while the top reason for that is 'Inappropriate size' and 'color', and 'texture'comes next on the list. 2. According to the survey on the recognition-rate concerning common' body size, most respondents were aware of their height and weight, and So percent of respondents said that they were aware of their waist circumference. But, chest circumference and hip circumference were recognized only by 58.4 percent and 35.6 percent of respondents, respectively. 3. According to the survey on difference between men and women, the male consumers have less aware of hip circumference than the female counterparts. The females have much more dissatisfaction with apparel sizing system and show higher return-rate of purchased apparels than the males.

The purpose of this study was (1) to examine the preference for apparel brands and country of origin, (2) to evaluate the brand equity for domestic and imported apparels as perceived by Korean and American consumers, and (3) to analyze the effects of country of origin and brand equity on consumers' apparel purchase behavior. The sample included 151 Korean and 114 American consumers. The data were collected from respondents by using the mall-intercept method. In addition, the path analysis based on multiple regression analysis was applied to analyze the data. The major findings in this study were as followings; (1) Both of all Korean and US consumers preferred domestic apparel brands to imported brands but the latter preferred apparels made in home country to the former comparatively, (2) Korean consumers evaluated more favorably the brand equity for imported apparels than that for domestic apparels, but American consumers were quite the reverse, (3) To Korean consumers, the direct variable to influence the purchase intention of apparels was the perceived quality and indirect variables were the brand equity and country of origin. On the other hand, to American consumers, the perceived quality and the brand equity for domestics apparel had directly influence on the purchase intention and the brand equity for imported apparels did indirectly. Finally, implications for managerial and marketing strategies were discussed in regard to building an international apparel brand equity and improving exports with high quality apparels.
This study analyzed how the self-efficacy and commitment on functional satisfaction and repurchase intentionof mountaineering apparels. The survey was conducted over the climbers with 298 subjects. The statistical analysis methods were frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and regression analysis. The results showed that the self-efficacy of climbers were classified into self-regulated efficacy, self-confidence, and task difficulty preference, and the commitment of climbers were classified into behavioral commitment and cognitive commitment. The self-regulated efficacy and self-confidence influenced the behavioral commitment and the self-regulated efficacy influenced the cognitive commitment. The behavioral commitment and cognitive commitment influenced the functional satisfaction and repurchase intention of mountaineering apparels. The functional satisfaction influenced the repurchase intention of mountaineering apparels.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual state of introduction and distribution of import apparel and to identify which characteristics of import apparels were different from domestic apparels by analysing consumer's evaluation attitudeto import apparels comparatively. Inaddition, by forming consumer groups who prefered import apparels and who prefered domestic apparels consumer characteristics and factors of each group were investigated. Results of this study are summarized as follows; 1. The degree of recognition of domestic or import well-known apparel brands were both high as 79.1% was to national brandcomparing with 77.0% of import brands. Average holding articles of import apparels were increasing up to 2.08 per person. 2. Consumers gave better evaluation to import apparel in all its aspects. With respects of the economic value and thepractical value, domestic apparel brands were evaluated better than import apparel brands while import apparel brands were evaluated better than domestic apparel brands with respects of design, brand image, and quality value. 3. Consumer group who has preference to import apparel has the tendency of high degree of clothing expenditure and low degree of economical behavior in clothing life st)4e and high degree of brand preferency. Futhermore, such group was not affirmative to negative effect of purchasing import goodsand open-trade policy. 4. Core factors affecting the preference to import apparel were design evaluation attitude, general reluctancy to buying imports, brand-oriented clouting life style, and degree of prossession of import apparel, as enumerated in the order of importance.
The purpose of this study is to survey and analyze the general conditions of infants\` apparel brands in Korea, review the sizes and specifications of each brand, analyze the differences and correlations among brands, and thereby, present the reasonable sizes and specifications for infants\` apparels in consideration of domestic and foreign specifications and infants\` health conditions. For this purpose, 13 brands manufacturing the apparels for the infants aged from 0 to 4 were sampled, and their design directors and outside pattern suppliers were surveyed through direct interviews. The collected data were processed for frequencies, mean, median and mode.

EThe purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships of consumers psychological characteristics, store types and impulse buying behaviors of apparels. We collected data from 469 consumers of women college student living in Pusan and analysed by factor analysis, frequency analysis, correlation analysis, t-test and $\chi$$^2$-test. The results were as follows: First, The sensation seeking tendency consisted of the Change seeking, Risk seeking, Artistic seeking, Curiosity seeking and Unusual seeking. The exploratory behavior of apparels were divided into six factors; Particularity exploration, Innovation exploration, Store exploration, Brand royalty exploration, interpersonal exploration and brand-seeking exploration. Second, In comparison with the unimpulse-buying group, the impulse-buying group intended more then Change seeking, when apparel explored, Particularity exploration, Innovation exploration and Brand exploration. Impulse-buying group preferred the department store, unimpulse-buying group did the specialty store.

Today women's social participation is highly increasing, and especially the middle-aged women's activity is amazing. However, many ladies have trouble in wearing suits or jackets. Because the current ready-made apparels focus on young and slender women, and accordingly the current size system is made for them. So it is necessary to develop new size system for general ladies who are hardly well-proportioned figures. The survey of mid-life ladies in this Paper vividly reveals the above Problem. Many ladies dissatisfied with the fitness of the existing apparels. Therefore updating the current size system of ladies' apparels is badly needed. It also helps reducing corporates' stock-holding costs and customer's clothes-adjusting expenses.
The objective of this study were to (1) investigate the relationship between evaluations of apparel advertising, fashion involvement, and social attitudes, (2) examine how evaluation of apparel advertising, fashion involvement, and social attitudes vary according to gender, and (3) investigate the possible differences in purchase attitudes toward the advertised apparels according to gender and advertisement slogan. Questionnaire for evaluations of apparel advertising was comprised of four sections; apparel advertising acceptance, evaluation of advertisement slogan, purchase attitude toward the advertised apparels, and perception of effective media for apparel advertising. For evaluation of advertisement slogan, 5 sets of apparel advertisements were selected. Each set had two advertisements; one advertisement contained an image-oriented slogan, while the other had a quality-oriented slogan. "The Social Attitude Scale' by Kerlinger and 'Fashion Involvement Index' by Tigert, Ring & King were used. All the items were selected on the Cronbach's alpha reliability. The subjects were 217 college male and famale students in Seoul; 60 were asked about purchase attitude toward the image-oriented slogan, 60 purchase attitude toward the quality-oriented slogan, and 97 all the items included in evaluation of the two slogans. The data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient, X2-test, t-test, two-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. The results of the study were the followings. 1. Fashion involvement had positive relationship with apparel advertising acceptance. The higher the level of conservative attitude males had, the more positive attitude they had in fashion involvement and apparel advertising acceptance. Subjects high in conservative attitude, fashion involvement, and apparel advertising acceptance. Subjects high in conservative attitude, fashion involvement, and apparel advertising acceptance had more positive in purchase of the advertised apparels. 2. Females high in apparel advertising acceptance were more favorable toward image-oriented advertisements. 3. Fashion involvement and apparel advertising acceptance were significantly higher in females than in males. Liberal attitude was significantly higher in males than in females. Evaluation of advertisement slogan did not differ according to gender. 4. Males perceived 'TV' was the most effective media for apparel advertising while females perceived 'display' was the most effective. 5. No significant interactions between advertisement slogan and gender were found in purchase attitude of the advertising apparels. 6. Apparel advertising acceptance was influenced by fashion involvement, social attitude, and sex. The explanatory power of the three variables was 17%.
The goal of this study is to investigate the current conditions of apparels for the handicapped, identify the problems and recommend what are appropriate and functional apparels for the handicapped. The research method was to statistically process a survey on 200 handicapped by frequency analysis and cross tabulations. The study results are as follows. First, the degree of discomfort in daily activities was shown during toilet use and eating. Among clothes categories owned by the handicapped, most discomfort was felt in the order of everyday clothes, workout clothes, underwear, athletic shoes and working clothes. Second, children's clothing was most commonly preferred clothing style by handicap for the dwarfism. Comfortable clothes was preferred and relaxed, decent, and unique styles were preferred in the order. Soft feeling texture and absorbency was considered important as preferred clothing material. Third, sizes and designs were improvements wanted by the handicapped in apparel in the order. In addition, they wanted to wear apparel sensitive to the fashion just like the non-handicapped without showing the handicapped parts. There is a necessity for the government or municipalitiesto establish and run protected workplaces or independent workplaces for those who have studied apparel. The field is thought to require continuous and numerous follow-up studies such as researches on different physiques, standardization of apparel, segmentation of sizes and methods of producing custom apparel by function and handicap.
