In this paper, we design the circular slits in the parch antenna for size reduction and high gain working at 900 MHz. Modifying the rectangular type patch, we decrease the antenna real-estate, leading to antenna miniaturization with added circular slits in itself. The antenna is tuned for under -30 dB return loss by adjusting the number of circular slits and their radii, and its design is performed for the maxim bean pattern of 4 dBi gain. Compared with the antenna without circular slits, the designed antenna shows 20 MHz downward shift of frequency, proving that the size reduction is achieved with this antenna design.

In this paper, a directive antenna design with a combination of electric-magnetic radiators for an radio frequency identification(RFID) system is presented. To generate a directive antenna radiation pattern, a structure combining a dipole and loop antenna is presented. A reader antenna and tag antenna are proposed for the RFID system. For the reader antenna, the frequency bandwidth defined by $S_{11}$<-10 dB is approximately from 820~990 MHz. The forward and backward gain differences are 1.5~2 dBi. For the tag antenna, the frequency bandwidth is approximately from 860~920 MHz with a maximum gain of 3.58 dBi at 910 MHz. In both cases, directive radiation characteristics are observed.

In this paper, we carried out performance analysis of mobile station with built-in antenna for PCS(Personal Communication System) band. The radiation patterns for antenna and mobile phone were simulated by using 3D simulation program, HFSS(High Frequency Structure Simulator) and SEMCAD(Simulation Platform for Electromagnetic Compatibility Antenna Design Dosimetry). We observed radiation pattern variation according to installation of LED(Light Emitting Diode) circuit and ground pattern. The radiation pattern of prototype mobile phone was measured, and the radio sensitivity was measured by using Agilent E5515C and chamber. The measured maximum antenna gain at 1.87GHz was 0.21dBi. The measured radio sensitivity of prototype mobile phone shows proper performances comparable to other models with external antennas.
In this paper, we propose a new antenna, which has wide bandwidth, good radiation patterns, and high-gain characteristics. We analysis the antenna using FDTD(Finite Difference Time Domain) method. And the antenna parameters are optimized to get maximum bandwidth. From the measured results, the bandwidth of the antenna is 0.839 octave, for the S11${\leq}$-10 dB. And the measured cross polarization level of the proposed antenna is less than -25 dB at the center frequency. Experimental data of the return loss and the radiation pattern of the proposed antenna are also presented, and the experimental bandwidth characteristics are relatively in good agreement with the FDTD results. The proposed antenna can be applied to MIMO, LAN, biomedical instruments, broadcasting-network system.

We implemented a subminiature internal antenna that is around 1 cc volume for the mobile phone. The fundamental type of studied antenna is IFA(Inverted F Antenna), and this antenna is designed to be improved efficiency and gain due to minimum current cancellation by the avoidance of multiple bending pattern. For the implementation of multiple band, helix is applied to compensate for short antenna length for low frequency band, and a 3 dimensional pattern is used for high frequency band. We made two kinds of 3D structure antenna. One is a 1 cc volume antenna for GSM/DCS band on the bare board set, and the other is a 1.5 cc volume for the GSM/USPCS mobile phone set. Measurements showed good gain performance that average gain of two antenna on each band are $-3.46{\sim}-0.45\;dBi$ and $-4.80{\sim}-3.29\;dBi$ respectively.

This paper portrays the design and optimization of a wideband four element triangular dielectric resonator antenna (TDRA) using PSO. The proposed antenna's radiation characteristics were extracted using Ansoft HFSS software. At a resonant frequency of 5-7 GHz, the four element antenna provides nearly 21 percent bandwidth and the optimized gives 5.82 dBi peak gain. The radiation patterns symmetry and uniformity are maintained throughout the operating bandwidth. for WLAN (IEEE 802.16) and WiMAX applications, the proposed antenna exhibits a consistent symmetric monopole type radiation pattern with low cross polarisation. The proposed antenna's performance was compared to that of other dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) shapes, and it was discovered that the TDRA uses a lot less radiation area to provide better performance than other DRA shapes and PSO optimized antenna increases the gain of the antenna
In this paper, we propose the dual band(2.4GHz and 5GHz) antenna for access point of WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network) which has similar radiation patterns for each band. Simulation results by using HFSS(High Frequency Structure Simulator) for the proposed antenna are presented. The electrical characteristics of the proposed antenna are measured with HP 8510C network analyzer and included. And radiation patterns are measured with rectangular anechoic far field antenna chamber. Measured results show that $S_{11}$ is less than - 14dB and VSWR(Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) is less than 1.5 for all frequency bands of interest. The measured maximum gain for elevation pattern at 2.40GHz is about 2.46dBi at $theta=-78^{\circ}$ and maximum gain for 5.825GHz is about 2.70dBi at $theta=-80^{\circ}.$ And the implemented antenna has good radiation pattern characteristic, therefore, we expect that the implemented dual band antenna is applicable for access point of WLAN.
The U-slot patch antenna has been found experimentally to provide impedance and gain bandwidths. Experiment and simulation results include impedance bandwidth, copolar and crosspolar-pattern characteristics and gain measurements. If one of the parameters such as patch width or feed position is varied, U-slot patch can also function as a dual-frequency antenna.

In this paper, new printed-type inverted F antenna is designed and fabricated to gain the ideal radiation pattern of a rocket-borne antenna which is expected to show the omni-directional pattern characteristic in rear direction. The radiation pattern of this antenna is measured in condition that the antenna is mounted on the side of the fin which is located on the tail of a rocket or a missile. Measurement result shows that the improved symmetrical radiation pattern is obtained with respect to the radiation pattern of the existing inverted F antenna. Besides parasite element which can be operated as reflector is attached in front of the antenna with the distance between the antenna and the parasite element $\lambda$/8. The result shows that the ratio of the front to the rear radiation level is improved by 8 dB.

In this paper, a folded helical monopole antenna for TDMB receiving and a trapezoidal fractal microstrip patch antenna for GPS were designed and fabricated for the vehicle shark antenna. To minimize null which is generating toward antenna axis direction and to receive both vertical polarization and horizontal polarization for TDMB antenna, we fold 90 degree helical monopole element. GPS antenna to get wide bandwidth and gain improvement was designed an air substrate trapezoidal microstrip patch antenna. Fabricated TDMB and GPS antenna were measured for S11 and radiation pattern, and compared with a commercialized antenna. TDMB antenna shows 3 dB higher antenna gain and receiving signal strength than the commercial one. GPS antenna shows the gain of 4.31 dBi at the resonant frequency, which is $3{\sim}5\;dB$ higher gain over whole operating band and 135MHz wide bandwidth at 2:1 VSWR than the conventional ceramic antenna.
