사람은 누구나 책이나 문서를 읽을 매 중요한 부분에 강조, 헤선 인명을 위한 행위로 표시를 하거나 글을 입력한다. 이렇게 입력된 부가 정보를 Annotation이라고 한다[7]. 차후 이 부분에 대한 참조를 할 때 생성한 Annotation을 이용하면 책이나 문서에 대한 이해도를 높일 수 있다 결과 Annotation은 한번 사용하고 그치는 정보가 아닌 재사용할 수 있는 정보임을 의미한다[1,2,3] 따라서 이러한 Annotation 기능을 웹 문서에 적용하게 되면 종이문서에서 얻을 수 있는 장점뿐만 아니라 웹 환경의 특징인 공유[5], 검색[4], 재편집 등의 기능을 얻을 수 있다. 이에 관한 Annotation 연구가 많이 있지만, 여러 Annotation들 간의 무의미만 출력 근서 , 문서와 Annotation 간의 위치 관계, Annotation 출력으로 인한 문서 구조 변경 등의 문제점으로 사용자들이 쉽게 사용및 이해할 수 있는 Annotation 인터페이스에 대한 연구가 부족한 실정이다 그러므로 본 논문에서는 Annotation들 간의 의미적 관계와 적절한 Annotation의 우선 접근을 위해 계층적 Annotation 구조론 제안하고. Annotation 출력으로 인한 문서 변경 문제를 해결하기 위해 문서와 인접한 위치에 Annotation을 출력하되 Annotation을 사용자가 원하는 위치로 이동시킬 수 있는 유동적 Annotation 인터페이스를 제안한다

웹에서 이용할 수 있는 Annotation들은 개인 노트의 수단이며, 같은 일에 종사하는 동료들간의 커뮤니케이션과 협업할 수 있도록 도와준다. 이런 종이 책에서의 Annotation들을 웹에 적용함으로써 공유. 검색, 재편집 등의 장점을 얻을 수 있다. 웹 Annotation은 통신수단의 발달과 함께 증가한 인터넷 사용자들의 활발한 커뮤니케이션을 통해 빠르게 증가하고 있어 한 문서에 많은 Annotation이 생성된다. 현재, 웹 상의 Annotation에 관련된 연구들은 생성, 출력, 저장을 중심으로 연구되고 있으나 한 문서 또는 한 Anchor에 존재하는 많은 Annotation들을 효과적으로 제공하는 방법에 관한 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 기존 Annotation 시스템들의 대부분은 다수의 Annotation들을 관련성이나, 사용자 특성을 고려하지 않고, 입력된 순서로 Annotation을 제공한다. 때문에 Anchor의 이해시간을 가중시킨다. 또한, 생성된 모든 Annotation 제공으로 인해 문서에 너무 많은 Annotation들이 생성되어 문서의 레이아웃을 손상시킬 수 있어[1], 문서를 이해의 시간을 증가시킨다[2]. 따라서 본 논문에서는 웹 문서에 생성된 다수의 Anchor들과 Annotation들을 사용자에게 효율적으로 제공하기 위하여 사용자 관심사에 맞는 Anchor와 Annotation만을 제공하는 Annotation 필터링기법을 제안한다. 또한. 동일한 Anchor내에서 적절한 Annotation의 우선 접근을 위한 Annotation 순위 부여기법과 Annotation 필터링 결과에 따라 Anchor의 표현유무를 결정하는 Anchor 표현 기법을 제안한다.

웹 Annotation은 개인 노트의 수단이며, 동료들 사이에서 의견 교환과 협업할 수 있도록 도와준다[l]. 또한, Annotation들은 데이터베이스, 문서, 그리고 분산된 환경에서 중요한 일이나 사건을 기록하는데 바람직하다[2]. 이런 Annotation들은 통신수단의 발달과 함께 증가한 인터넷 사용자들의 활발한 의견교환을 통해 빠르게 증가하고 있다. 때문에 사용자들은 많은 Annotation들 중 적절한 Annotation을 선택하기가 쉽지 않다. 현재, 웹 상에서의 Annotation에 관련된 연구들이 활발히 진행 중에 있다. 그러나 한 문서 또는 한 Anchor에 존재하는 많은 Annotation들을 효과적으로 제공하는 방법에 관한 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 기존의 대부분의 Annotation System들은 다수의 Annotation들을 관련성이나, 사용자 특성을 고려하지 않고, 입력된 무의미한 순서로 제공하며 생성된 anchor와 Annotation들을 모두 보여준다. 이로 인해, 한 문서에 너무 많은 Annotation이 생성되어 문서의 레이아웃을 손상시킬 수 있으며[3], anchor와 문서의 이해 시간을 가중시킨다[4]. 따라서 본 논문에서는 웹 문서에 생성된 다수의 Anchor들과 Annotation들을 좀 더 효율적으로 제공하기 위해 협업 환경에서 효과적인 Social Filtering[5]을 적용하여 적절한 Anchor와 Annotation만을 제공하는 사용자 관심사에 의한 Annotation 처리 기법을 제안한다. 더불어 한 Anchor에 생성된 Annotation들에 순위를 부여하여 보다 적절한 Annotation을 먼저 접근할 수 있는 Anchor에 대한 적절한 Annotation내에서의 순위부여 기법을 제안한다.

Annotation is used for inscribing personal opinion, explanation, and summary. Various methods for processing annotation efficiently in digital document environments are being studied. However, previous studies placed much emphasis on function of annotation, so either they did not support Intuitive paper-based input interface or the systems that support it still have low reusability problems, because relation between annotation and original document are not explicit. Thus, in our study, we define context-based annotation modeling for digital document environments, and suggest annotation interface based on the modeling. To design annotation model, we define annotation types, context information of document, and relationship between annotation and original document. Also, a system based on the modeling is implemented to support pen-based annotation and annotation DTD. As a result, unlike previous studies, it is possible to explicitly define context-based annotation in pen-based input environments. We present various functions using the modeling and various possibilities of application.

기존의 전자책 환경에서 종이책과 구별되는 특징은 네트웍을 통한 저자와 독자, 출판사간의 인터랙티브(interactive)한 정보 교환이 가능하다는 점이다. 이러한 교환은 기존의 종이책에서 사용하는 Annotation을 이용하면 가능하다. Annotation이란 원본 문서에 부가적으로 추가되는 정보를 의미한다. 그러므로 Annotation과 원본 문서는 밀접한 관계를 갖는데 기존의 Annotation 모델링은 원본 문서를 고려하지 않고 Annotation만을 별개로 모델링하였다. 이에 본 논문에서는 Annotation을 보다 효과적으로 활용하기 위하여 annotation과 원본 문서를 동시에 표현하는 모델링에 대해 제안한다. 그리고 본 모델링은 전자책 표준인 EBKS에 기반하며, 모델링 결과를 웹 자원을 기술하는 표준인 RDF를 이용하여 표현한다.

When creating annotation information in a free~form environment, ambiguity arises during the analysis stage between geometric information and the annotations. This needs to be resolved so that the accurate creation of annotation information in a free-form annotation environment is possible. This paper identifies and analyzes the ambiguities, specifying methods that are tailored to each of the various contexts that can cause conflicts with free-form marking in a XML-based annotation environment. The proposed general method is based on context which includes various textual and structure information between free-form marking and the annotations themselves. The context information used is expressed in XML based DTD, within the paper. The results are printed and shared through a system specifically implemented for this study. The results from the implementation of the Proposed method show that the annotated areas included in the free-form marking information are more accurate, achieving more accurate exchange results amongst multiple users in a heterogeneous document environment.

본 연구에서는 온라인 다중 사용자 환경의 eBook annotation 시스템 개발에서 데이터를 의미 기반으로 관리하고, 데이터에 대하여 상호 공통적인 이해를 표현하며, 그리고 데이터에 대한 무결성 검사 등을 지원하기 위해서 eBook annotation 온톨로지를 설계하였다. eBook annotation 데이터에 대한 상호 공통적인 이해의 표현을 위해서 한국 전자책 문서 표준인 EBKS(Electronic Book of Korea Standard)를 기반으로 설계 하였으며 설계 된 온톨로지는 Conceptual Graph(CG)를 사용하여 표현하였다. 의미 기반의 처리를 위해서 본 온톨로지에서는 동의어(synonym) 관계와 다국어(multilingua) 관계를 고려하였으며 또한 annotation 데이터 생성시 오류 방지와 중요도를 표현 하기 위해서 무결성 검사, 중요성 axiom을 고려 했다. 제안된 온톨로지는 annotation 데이터의 재사용성을 높일 수 있고 의미 정보를 활용함으로써 eLearning, cyberclass과 같은 다중사용자 환경에서 효과적인 협업을 가능하게 한다. 본 연구에서 구현한 eBook annotation 시스템은 설계한 온톨로지를 이용함으로써 의미 기반의 데이터 관리가 가능하다. 또한 annotation 생성 시 온톨로지 구조를 모르더라도 annotation을 생성할 수 있는 인터페이스를 구현하였다.

An annotation model of a non-native speech database has been devised, wherein English is the target language and Korean is the native language. The proposed annotation model features overt transcription of predictable linguistic information in native speech by the dictionary entry and several predefined types of error specification found in native language transfer. The proposed model is, in that sense, different from other previously explored annotation models in the literature, most of which are based on native speech. The validity of the newly proposed model is revealed in its consistent annotation of 1) salient linguistic features of English, 2) contrastive linguistic features of English and Korean, 3) actual errors reported in the literature, and 4) the newly collected data in this study. The annotation method in this model adopts the widely accepted conventions, Speech Assessment Methods Phonetic Alphabet (SAMPA) and the TOnes and Break Indices (ToBI). In the proposed annotation model, SAMPA is exclusively employed for segmental transcription and ToBI for prosodic transcription. The annotation of non-native speech is used to assess speaking ability for English as Foreign Language (EFL) learners.

전자책은 기존 종이 문서에 비하여 다양한 기능 및 장점을 제공할 수 있기 때문에 현재 다양한 연구 및 서비스가 제공되고 있다. 또한 전자책 환경에서의 정보 공유 및 검색과 같은 다양한 활용을 위해서는 반드시 Annotation 지원이 가능하여야 하며 이에 대한 정확한 Annotation 정의가 요구된다. Annotation이란 일반적으로 문서의 주제 및 내용에 관한 해설, 설명, 그리고 강조를 목적으로 추가되는 문장 또는 텍스트를 의미한다. 그러나 기존 전자책 환경에서의 Annotation과 관련된 연구에서는 이에 대한 심도있는 연구 결과가 미비한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 전자책 환경을 위한 Context 기반 Annotation Modeling을 정의하고 이를 활용한 인터페이스를 제안한다. 현재 전자책 환경은 대부분 XML에 기반하고 있으며 이에 본 논문에서는 구조정보와 컨텐츠, 그리고 Annotation간의 관계 및 이를 활용하기 위한 모델링을 제시한다. 또한 모델링 정보를 이용한 다양한 장점 및 환용이 가능한 시스템을 구현하였다. 그 결과 본 연구에서는 기존 연구와는 달리 Context 기반 Annotation의 정확한 정의가 가능하며 이를 활용한 다양한 기능을 제공하는 동시에 앞으로의 응용 가능성을 제시하고 있다.

This paper proposed context based annotation model and annotation ambiguity correction methods. The proposed model provides various annotation types, semantic models, and pen-based free drawing interface. Annotation correction method that is specifically based on the context which includes various textual and structure information between free-form marking and annotation. Also, interface for XML environment using the proposed model and correction methods is proposed and possibilities of application is looked at. The results from the implementation of the proposed method show that the annotated areas included in the free-form marking information are more accurate, achieving more accurate exchange results amongst multiple users in a heterogeneous document environment
