종골 길이와 너비의 상관관계를 이용한 종골 너비 추정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Estimation of Calcaneal Width Using a Correlation of Calcaneal Length and Width)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation and ratio between the calcaneal length and width for predicting the width of calcaneus. Materials and Methods: A total of 190 feet (190 patients) were included based on computed tomography scans. The length of calcaneus (CL) was measured on the line connecting the center of a circle tangent to the cortical margin in the anterior and posterior parts of the calcaneus in a sagittal plane (W1, W2). The width of the calcaneus was defined as the horizontal line of each part (W1, W2, W3) on the same axial plane. The relationship between the measurement was determined through a correlation analysis. The reliability was assessed based on intraclass correlation coefficients. Results: The CL and widths of calcaneus (W1, W2, W3) had a good positive correlation (r=0.848 [W1/CL], r=0.738 [W2/CL], r=0.769 [W3/CL]; p<0.001). The mean CL and widths ratios were 0.33 (W1/CL), 0.37 (W2/CL), and 0.37 (W3/CL). Using these ratios to estimate the widths by multiplying each ratio by the measured calcaneal length, we found a difference between the estimated calcaneal widths and the actual measured calcaneal widths values was 0.25 mm, 0.43 mm, and 0.16 mm. All measurements showed good-to-excellent inter- and intraobserver reliability. Conclusion: This study analyzed the correlation and ratio between the length and width of the calcaneus. The results will help orthopedic surgeons fixate screws in a stable manner to prevent iatrogenic injuries to the medial neurovascular structures of the calcaneus.

테니스화겉창과 테니스 스포츠바닥재간의 마찰관계상관 분석 (A analysis of friction relation between tennis outsole and tennis playing surfaces)

  • 마찰력(friction)은 급정지나 급출발, 또는 두 동작이 동시에 이루어질 때, 미끄럼방지는 효과적으로 이루어져야 하며, 특히 테니스, 농구, 배구 등 코트 스포츠에 있어서 최적의 마찰력은 필수적이다. 이러한 마찰력은 무게가 많이 나갈수록, 다른 물체와의 접촉면이 넓을수록, 장력이 클수록 커진다. 또한 표면이 매끄러울 때보다는 거칠수록 커지는 특성을 가지며, 본 연구의 목적은 테니스화겉창과 테니스코트에 설치되어 있는 스토츠바닥재사이에 마찰력을 대해서 고찰해 보고자 하였으며, 마찰력운동 및 이의 관련 선행 국외 연구활동이 어떻게 이루어졌는지를 종단적 국외문헌조사를 통해 어떤 상관관계가 있는지를 구명해 보고자 하였다. 국내 테니스화의 연구와 테니스스포츠바닥재간의 국외 연구활동의 종단적 연구지표로서 스포츠와 스포츠바닥재간의 마찰력 관련주요연구연표를 작성해 봄으로서 연구활동의 경과추이를 조사하였다. 테니스 바닥재 현황으로는 테니스코트의 표층재는 일반적으로 천연재료를 사용한 클레이계코트와 합성재료를 사용한 전 천후계 하드코트로 구별된다. 본 연구를 통하여 테니스화 겉창과 테니스 스포츠바닥재간의 마찰력의 국외선행연구현황 이해를 돕고, 향후 국내에서 스포츠화 겉창과 마찰력, 스포츠바닥재와 마찰력의 평가에 대한 연구시 국외에서 기 실시된 연구를 중복연구하는 시행착오 방지 및 국외 선행연구에 대한 기초자료 및 연구현황을 자세히 파악할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

엘리트 태권도 선수의 국제 대회 경기 중의 손상 - 2011 경주 세계 태권도 선수권 대회의 분석 - (Injuries of the Elite Taekwondo Players in the International Tournament Performance - Analysis of the 2011 Gyeongju World Taekwondo Championship -)

  • 목적: 가장 뛰어난 수행 능력을 가진 국가대표 엘리트 태권도 선수의 국제 경기 중의 손상에 대하여 분석하고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 2011 경주 세계 선수권 대회에 참가한 146개국 국가대표 950명이 전체 1,063 경기 중에 손상을 받은 52명을 대상으로 하였으며 성별, 연령별, 체급별 경기 손상률과 손상 부위별 손상 발생률과 손상 유형, 그리고 손상 양상에 따른 손상 부위 등에 대하여 분석하였다. 결과: 총 950명, 전체 1,063 경기에서 52명이 손상을 입어 5.47%가 경기 손상을 받았고, 1,000 경기 노출당(per 1,000 athlete-exposures, /1,000 A-E) 손상률은 24.46/1,000 A-E이었다. 여자의 손상률이 남자보다 높았지만 통계학적으로 유의한 차이는 없었다(p=0.512). 연령별로는 30세 이상에서 손상률이 참가자 100명당 17.39%로 가장 높았으며, 체급별로는 남자에서 87kg 이상에서 손상률이 9.23%로 가장 높았고, 여자에서 67~73kg 체급의 손상률이 18.18%로 가장 높았으나 통계학적 유의성은 없었다(p=0.838). 손상 부위는 전체적으로는 하지의 손상률이 13.17/1,000 A-E로 상지나 두경부, 체간 부위보다 높았지만, 손상 부위별로는 수부 손상의 손상률이 5.17/1,000 A-E로 가장 높았고 슬관절 부위가 4.70/1,000 A-E로 다음이었다(p=0.714). 손상 유형으로는 관절 염좌의 손상률이 10.81/1,000 A-E로 가장 높았으며, 다음 순위로 남자에서는 골절의 손상률이 5.40/1,000 A-E로 높았으나 여자에서는 좌상이 9.63/1,000 A-E로 높았다(p=0.033). 중증 손상인 골절은 8예 중 4예에서 수부에서 발생하였다. 결론: 2011 경주 세계 선수권 대회에 참가한 엘리트 태권도 선수의 국제 경기 중 손상률은 5.47%, 24.46/1,000 A-E였다. 전체적으로는 슬관절과 족관절의 염좌가 가장 많은 손상을 차지하였지만 중증 손상인 골절은 수부에서 가장 많이 발생하였다.

공기압 차이에 따른 불안정지지면이 다리 근활성도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Inflatable Standing Surface With Different Levels of Air Pressure on Leg Muscle Activity)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the changes that occur in the leg muscle activity of unstable surface with different levels of air pressures. Three groups of college students have been placed randomly on unstable surfaces with different air pressures at group 1.0 psi ($n_1$=36), group 1.4 psi ($n_2$=40), and group 1.8 psi ($n_3$=40). Using surface electromyography, the recruitment of the tibialis anterior, peroneus longus, and the gastrocnemius was measured. Maximal voluntary isometric contraction was measured at the different air pressures based on the manual muscle test, then normalizing the value to %maximal voluntary isometric contraction (%MVIC). The tibialis anterior muscle activity was significant change from the unstable surface with difference levels of air pressures between group 1.0 psi and 1.8 psi and between group 1.4 psi and 1.8 psi. peroneus longus muscle activity was significant changes in muscle activity occurred between 1.0 psi and 1.4 psi group and between 1.0 psi and 1.8 psi group. Gastrocnemius muscle activity was significant change in muscle activity occurred between 1.0 psi and 1.4 psi group and between 1.0 psi and 1.8 psi group. In conclusion it identify that 1.0 psi group is most effective on muscle activity than the other groups. These suggest that the rehabilitation or strengthening of patients with ankle injuries, balance exercise with low air pressure like 1.0 psi can be more effective.

착지 시 외부 무게 부하에 따른 남성과 여성의 하지 관절 각속도, 모멘트, 에너지 흡수에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Added Mass between Male and Female on The Lower Extremity Joints Angular Velocity, Moment, Absorb Energy During Drop Landing)

  • This study aimed to analyze the effects of external load between male and female on angular velocity, moment, and absorbed energy of the lower-extremity joints during drop landing. The study subjects were 9 male($mass=70.82{\pm}4.64kg$, $height=1.71{\pm}0.04m$, $age=24.5{\pm}1.84years$), 9 female($mass=50.14{\pm}4.09kg$, $height=1.61{\pm}0.03m$, $age=23.6{\pm}2.62years$), without any serious musculoskeletal, coordination, balance, or joint/ligament problems for 1 year before the study. The angular velocity, flexion/extension and abduction/adduction moments, and absorbed energy of the lower-extremity joints were compared between the men and women during drop landing under 4 different conditions of external load(0%, 8%, 16%, and 24%) by using two-way repeated ANOVA(p < .05). The women landed with a greater peak angular velocity of the ankle joint, greater peak inversion moment, and lower peak hip-extension moment than the men did, under all 4 conditions. Additionally, the landing characteristics of the women were distinct from those of the men; the women showed a greater peak knee-adduction moment and greater absorbed energy of the knee joint. These differences indicate that anterior cruciate ligament(ACL) strain was greater in the women than in the men and therefore, women may be at a higher potential risk for noncontact injuries of the ACL with an increase in external load.

Gait analysis on the condition of arm swing in healthy young adults

  • Objective: The arm swing is associated with gait ability in healthy young adults. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of arm swing during gait in healthy young adults. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Forty-five subjects without any orthopedic or neurological injuries participated in this study. All subjects performed all three conditions according to the arm swing type as follows: first procedure (condition 1), walking as usual without arm swing constraint; second procedure (condition 2), constraint of dominant arm swing walking as usual; third procedure (condition 3), constraint of both arm swing walking as usual. Gait parameters such as gait velocity, stride length, cadence, step time, single limb support, and double limb support were measured in all arm swing conditions performed randomly, with the mean value obtained from three measurements. A rest period of 5 minutes was given to prevent repetition of each condition and learning effect. All data was analyzed using repeated measures ANOVA to notice the changes between arm swing conditions. Results: Within walking conditions, significant difference of gait velocity, stride length, cadence, and double limb support was noticed (p<0.05), except step time and single limb support. Gait velocity and stride length were significant reduced, and in cadence and double limb support were increased (p<0.05). Condition 3 had the most significant decrease of gait ability compared with condition 1 (p<0.05). Conclusions: These finding suggested that constraint arm swing conditions reduced gait ability in healthy young adults. Also, these findings can be utilized as a reference to future studies that not only pelvic, knee and ankle, but also upper limb affect to gait ability.

착지 시 달리기 속도 증가가 충격 쇼크 흡수에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Increased Running Speed on the Magnitude of Impact Shock Attenuation during Ground Contact)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of increased running speed on the magnitude of impact shock attenuation in high frequency (9~20 Hz) at support phase on the treadmill running. Method: Twenty-four healthy male heel-toe runners participated in this study. Average age, height, mass, and preference running speed were 23.43±3.78 years, 176.44±3.38 cm, 71.05±9.04 kg, and 3.0±0.5 m/s, respectively. Three triaxial accelerometer (Noraxon, USA) were mounted to the tuberosity of tibia, PSIS (postero-superior iliac spine), and forehead to collect acceleration signals, respectively. Accelerations were collected for 20 strides at 1,000 Hz during treadmill (Bertec, USA) running at speed of 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 m/s. Power Spectrum Density (PSD) of three acceleration signals was calculated to use in transfer function describing the gain and attenuation of impact shock between the tibia and PSIS, and forehead. One-way ANOVA were performed to compare magnitude of shock attenuation between and within running speeds. The alpha level for all statistical tests was .05. Results: No significant differences resulted for magnitude of the vertical and resultant impact shock attenuation between the tibia and PSIS, and forehead between running speeds. However, significant differences within running speed were found in magnitude of the vertical shock attenuation between tibia and PSIS, tibia and forehead at speed of 2.5, 3.0 m/s, respectively. Conclusion: In conclusion, it might be conjectured that muscles covering the knee and ankle joints and shoe's heel pad need to strengthen to keep the lower extremities from injuries by impact shock at relatively fast running speed that faster than preferred running speed.

중력보상장치 기반의 근력보조 외골격 장치 (Exoskeleton Based on Counterbalance Mechanism for Arm Strength Assistance)

  • 최근 산업현장에서 작업자들의 장시간 작업으로 인한 사고 및 부상의 위험을 방지하기 위하여 작업자들의 근력을 보조할 수 있는 외골격 근력보조 장치에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그러나 기존의 외골격 장치들은 작업자의 근력을 보조하기 위하여 모터의 동력을 사용하므로, 고가일 뿐만 아니라 오작동의 위험이 있어서 산업현장에서 매우 제한적으로 사용되었다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서, 본 연구에서는 센서 및 모터 없이 순수 기계요소들만으로 구성된 근력보조 외골격 장치를 설계 및 제작하였다. 본 외골격 장치는 사람의 손목 관절을 제외한 어깨, 팔꿈치 관절의 동작이 추종 가능하며, 팔의 자중에 의한 중력토크를 상쇄 가능한 중력보상장치를 탑재하여 작업자의 팔에 대한 근력보조를 수행한다. 개발된 외골격 장치의 성능을 검증하기 위하여 EMG 센서를 이용한 근전도 비교 실험을 수행하였고, 실험 결과를 바탕으로 외골격 장치의 근력보조 성능을 확인하였다.

Understanding and Exercise of Gluteus Medius Weakness: A Systematic Review

  • A weak or dysfunctional gluteus medius (Gmed) is related to several pathologies, and individuals with hip abductor weakness have Gmed weakness. This study aimed to systematically review the literature associated with the anatomy and function of the Gmed, and the prevalence, pathology, and exercise of Gmed weakness. Papers published between 2010 and 2020 were retrieved from MEDLINE, Google Academic Search, and Research Information Sharing Service. The database search used the following terms: (glut* OR medius OR hip abduct*) AND weak*. The Gmed plays an important role in several functional activities as a primary hip abductor by providing pelvic stabilization and controlling hip adduction and internal rotation. Weakness of the Gmed is associated with many disorders including balance deficit, gait and running disorders, femoroacetabular impingement, snapping hip, gluteal tendinopathy, patellofemoral pain syndrome, osteoarthritis, iliotibial band syndrome, anterior cruciate ligament injury, ankle joint injuries, low back pain, stroke, and nocturia. Overuse of the tensor fasciae latae (TFL) as a hip abductor due to Gmed weakness can also cause several pathologies such as pain in the lower back and hip and degenerative hip joint pathology, which are associated with dominant TFL. Similarly, lateral instability and impaired movements such as lumbar spine lateral flexion or lateral tilt of the pelvis can occur due to compensatory activation of the quadratus lumborum for a weakened Gmed while exercising. Therefore, the related activation of synergistic muscles or compensatory movement should be considered when prescribing Gmed strengthening exercises.

스케이트보딩용 팬츠에 대한 착용실태 및 소비자 선호도 분석 - 중국 스케이트보더를 중심으로 - (Analysis of the wearing condition and consumer preference for skateboarding pants - Focusing on Chinese skateboarders -)

  • The aim of this study was to provide data to enable the development of skateboarding pants. From the Chinese skateboard club SNS, 126 skateboarders in their 20s and 30s were chosen to participate in a survey. Data was gathered using a questionnaire from May 14 to May 28, 2021, and then analyzed using SPSS 23. The results concerning production were as follows: clothing sizes are generally divided into six stages: XS, S, M, L, XL, and 2XL. The silhouette is wide, and most pants have e-bands and normal hems. The pants are made from cotton-blend fabric, which is mostly moisture-absorbing and quick-drying. Baggy pants are preferred by skateboarders, with cotton being the most common fabric. The crotch, knees, and buttocks of pants are the least satisfying for skateboarders. When they skateboard, their ankles sustain the most injuries, followed by their knees and wrists. In the survey of consumers' preferences for skateboarding pants, different styles were rated in the following order: straight pant silhouette, ribbed knit and string waistband design; full-rise waist height, string hemline design; and ankle-high pants length (fit), fabric and design. The hygroscopicity and ventilation of the fabric are crucial considerations when purchasing pants. In terms of color, chromatic and pastel colors are most popular. In addition, some people expect new fibers to be used and expect protective equipment and pants to be integrated.
