  • To clarify the taxonomy and the distribution on subclass Aspidochirotacea and Apodacea, the authors examined the materials which were collected from 48 localities during the period from 1962 to 1995 . As a result, the specimens of holothurians are classified into 3 orders, 5 families and 8 specie. Among them , the following 4 species are found to be new to the Korean fauna : Molpaida oolitica, Paracaudina chilensis, Acaudina molpadioides and Caudina similis.

  • The patterns of serum proteins in seven species of Korean rodents were analyzed by immunoprecipitin, immunodiffusion, and immunoelectrophoresis. It is found that the serum proteins of each species were different with one another and thatntigenic divergence among the seven species seems to be enormous , ie., serological correspondence ranged from 99.6 in Rattus norvegicus caraco(suborder Myomorpha) to 2.7 in Tamias sibircus asiaticus (suborder sciuromorpha). In the six species of the family Muridae (Suborder Myomorpha), the lowest value of 8.2 was shown in Clethrionmys rufocanus regulus (Subfamily Microtinae).

  • 본 연구는 1969년 12월부터 1987년 10월까지 제주도의10개 지역 (제주항, 우도, 성산포, 표선, 서귀포, 숲섬, 화순, 가파도, 비양도, 한림)에서 채집된 표본들을 동정·분류한 결과(9과 31종)와 이미 발표된 종을 종합하여 제주도 연안의 유영목을 정리하였다. 그 결과 모두 11과 31속 45종이었다. 이들 중 4종 (Lepidasthenia berkeleyae, Brania clavata, Sphaerosyllis hirsuta 및 Ceratonereis singularis)은 한국미기록종이며, 13종은 제주도 연안에서만 발견되었다. 한국미기록종에 관하여는 그림을 그리고 기재하였다. 45종 중 난온수형이 22종 (48.89%)으로 가장 많았고, 범세계형이 10종(22.22%), 열대수형이 8종(17.78%), 냉온수형이 4f종(8.89%), 냉수형이 1종(2.22%) 의 순으로 나타났다. 난온수형이 가장 많이 나타난 현상은, 제주도가 위치하고 있는 해형, 즉 쿠로시오 난류의 영향을 크게 받고 있다는 사실과 부합된다.

  • The present study deals with four species of interstitial Collembola from South Korea. They are new to science and as follows : Pseudonurida longisetosa n.sp., Onychiurus donjiensis n. sp., O. jindoensis n. sp.m, and Folomia minuta n. sp.. Two speices of them, Pseudanurida longisetosa and Folsomia minuta n. sp. were collected from shell heap. So far eleven halophilous species of Collembola, including species to be recorded in this paper, were reported from the Korean peninsula.

  • The following accounts of the family Syllidae are based upon the materials which have been collected from 39 localities in the cost of South Sea and the East Sea in Korea during the period from July, 1980 to November, 1991. as a result of systematic examination, four species are known to be new to Korean fauna which are described and illustrated ; Haplosyllis spongicola, Paraspphaerosyllis ezoensis, Opisthosyllis brunea ; O.viridis.

  • 문경산 흰 넓적다리 붉은 쥐, Apodemus peninsulae peninsulae, 의 염색체 핵형 분석과 단변량 및 다변량분석방법들을 사용한 등줄쥐, Apodemus agrarius coreae, 와의 형태적 형질의 비교를 하였다. 흰 넓적다리 붉은 쥐의 염색체수는 2n=50-54R지 수적 변이를 보였다. 차단부 염색체의 수는 48개로 개체간에 일정하였으나 , 중부 염색체의 수는 2-6개의 변이가 나타났다. 형태적 형질의 분석결과는 등줄쥐보다 흰 넓적다리 붉은 쥐가 크다고 판정되었으며 가장 구별이 잘 되는 경구개의 길이였다.

  • A historical review of Trichoptera systematics in Korea and diagnoses for 10 newly recorded species of Limnephiloidea are provided: two species, Gumaga orientalis (Martynov) and Ganonema extensum Martynov, are newly recorded from the Korean peninsula, seven species, Goera interrogationis Botosaneanu, G. parvula Martynov, Apatania sinensis Martynov, Ecclisomyia kamtshatica (Martynov), Hydatophylax magnus (Martynov), Goerodes albardanus (Ulmer), and Dinarthrum coreanum (Kumanski and Weaver), and newly recorded from South Korea, and the adult stage of Neophylax ussuriensis (Martynov) is newly recorded from South Korea.

  • Polychaetes from offshore waters of Geojedo Island, Korea were collected from July 1995 to J 1998. Forty species of polychaetes worms were recognized in this study. Among them, seventeen species are recorded for the first time from around Geojedo Island. Four species, Odontosyllis maculata Uschakov, 1950, Odontosyllis decta Augener, 1913, Autolytus(Regulatus) convolutus(Cognett, 1953) and Chone mollis (Bush, 1904), are turned out to be new to the Korean fauna. A brief description and figures of newly reported species in Korea are given.

  • Specimens of the sabellid polychaetes are exmined. They were collected in the Yellow Sea from Sept. 17 to Oct. 2, 1992 within the framework of Korea-China Yellow Sea Research Joint Program. Additional materials were also provided from the benthic samples collected from the subtidal shallow waters of the Kwang-yang Bay, Korea. Two secies of the genus Euchone (Polychaeta, Sabellidae), Euchone hancocki Banse and Euchone incolor Hartman are described and illustrated. This paper reports the first record of these two sabellids in Korea waters.

  • The zoantharians and ceriantiparians known from the Korea Strait are 21 species, 16 genera, 10 families in 3 orders, of which 6 species are newly recorded to the Korea Strait fauna. Three species of them are new to Korean waters: Flosmaria mustsuensis, Hormathia andersoni and Verrillactis paguri. The specimens were collected from 34 localities of Korea Strait from 1984 to 1991.
