지리적 분포는 A. buanensis 가 한국에서 가장 보편적이었으며 , A. opticus 와 A. coreanus 는 상대적으로 드물거나 특정지역에 한정되어 나타났다.

  • Two new harpacticoid species belonging to the genera $Microarthridion$ Lang, 1944 (Tachidiidae) and $Nitocra$ Boeck, 1864 (Ameiridae) are recorded from underground caves in the karst area of Ninh Binh Province, North Vietnam. $Microarthridion$ $thanhi$ n. sp. is distinguished from congeneric species by the number of setae on the antennary exopod, the structure of leg 5 in both sexes, and the finger-like process modified from an outer distal pinnate seta of the third endopodal segment of leg 2 in the male. $Nitocra$ $vietnamensis$ n. sp. has the character combination of six setae on the ellipsoidal exopod of leg 5 in both sexes, the first endopodal segment of leg 1 shorter than the whole exopod, the seta/spine armature of an inner seta of P2-P4 enp-1 and four elements on P2 enp-3, and the reduction of the proximal endite to a seta on the maxillary syncoxa.

  • Two new gastrotrich species belonging to genus Tetranchyroderma are described on the basis of the specimens from intertidal or sublittoral sand bottoms of South Korea. Tetranchyroderma heterotentaculatum, n. sp. is clearly differentiated from its congeners by the character combination: the cuticular armature with pentancres, modified rod-like cephalic tentacles, and three pairs of dorsolateral adhesive tubes. Tetranchyroderma hoonsooi, n. sp. possesses tetrancres, paired lateral cephalic tentacles, and ventro-lateral adhesive tubes along whole lateral margin, while lacks dorsal adhesive tubes. Affinities with its congeners and variability within the species are discussed, with brief notes on morphological discrepancies between adults and juveniles.

  • As a result of the faunistic survey of the free-living marine nematodes from coastal algal beds and sublittoral sands in South Korea, we report a meiobenthic species, Desmoscolex cosmopolites Timm, 1970, for the first time from the western Pacific as well as Korean waters. Among 17-ring Desmoscolex species, D. cosmopolites is represented by the following combination of characters: absence of subventral setae on 10th and 14th main rings and the presence of subdorsal setae with large angular lance-shaped tip. A detailed morphological redescription is provided using a scanning electron microscope and a differential interference contrast microscope. Character comparison between D. cosmopolites and its allied congeneric species is also analysed.

  • A new halacarid species, Agaue laeviunguis n. sp. from Youngil Bay, Pohang City, South Korea is described. In sharing the character combination of three dorsal setae on PE, lacking dorsal seta anterior to insertion of leg IV, three ventral setae on PE, female PGS adjacent to GF, telofemora devoid of fovea, well developed smooth cerotegumental lamella on all telofemora, presence of accessory process on all lateral claws, long gnathosoma, and a smooth seta on P2 in both sexes, this species resembles A. subglabra Bartsch from Australia. The species, however, is clearly distinguished from A. subglabra by its larger body, claws of tarsi II-IV without ventral pecten, and much more PGS in female. Description of proto- and deutonymphs are also provided.

  • A new laophontid copepod species, Apolethon articulatus n. sp., is described from the estuaries and salt marshes in South Korea. Apolethon articulatus is similar to the three congeneric species currently known in sharing the character combination of the elongate first endopodal segment of leg 1 with inner seta and the expansion of second endopodal segments of legs 2-4 with decrease in the number of setae on them. However, A. articulatus differs from them by the separate exopod of female leg 5 and the armature of mandibular palp with 6 setae. Description and taxonomic accounts of the new species are presented herein with detailed illustrations and SEM micrographs. As the true identity of the rarely known genus has not been clarified yet, a revised generic diagnosis is provided with a key to the species hitherto known in the genus.

  • A new species belonging to the genus Cyclopinoides Lindberg, 1953 (Cyclopinidae) is described from three beaches in Korea and Japan, as the first record of the genus from the Pacific. Among five species currently recognized in the genus, the new species resembles C. schulzi Herbst, 1964 from the Red Sea in sharing the character combination of 20-segmented antennule and stumpy caudal rami. However, C. orientalis n. sp. differs from it by relatively longer caudal rami (2.5-2.8 times as long as wide in female and about 1.6-1.8 times in male, while less than 2 times in female and about 1.3 times in male of C. schulzi), and by the transformation of an outer distal spine to a slender seta on the distal exopodal segment of leg 4. Moreover, C. orientalis n. sp. is discernible from C. schulzi in having a pyriform copulatory tube (against elongated tubular style in C. schulzi). A key to the species hitherto known in the genus is provided.

  • A genuine interstitial cyclopoid species belonging to the genus Psammophilocyclops Fryer, 1956 is recorded from the filtration basin of a water treatment plant, South Korea. The genus Psammophilocyclops is very rarely found, and only three species have been recognized as yet: P. boccaroi Fryer, 1956 from Africa, P. trispinosus Shen et Tai, 1964 and P. bispinosus Shen et Tai, 1964 from China. The present new species differs from the congeneric species by the character combination of 11-segmented antennule in female, four-segmented maxilliped with 2,1,1,2 setation, the spine formula of 3,3,3,3, and setal arrangement of 3,3,5,3 on the distal endopodal segments of legs 1-4. Descriptio and taxonomic accounts of the new species are presented with a revised generic diagnosis and a key to the species hitherto known in the genus.

  • A new species belonging to the genus Cyclopinopsis Smirnov, 1935 (Cyclopinidae) is described from Korea, as the third species of the genus. Specimens were collected by washing the subtidal sediments off Dokdo Island in the East Sea and the intertidal sands at Baegripo beach, Taean Peninsula on the Yellow Sea coast. Cyclopinopsis deformata n. sp. is characteristic and distinguished from its two congeneric species currently recognized, C. curticauda Smirnov, 1935 and C. brasiliensis Herbst, 1955 in having a deformed seta at the outer distal corner of the third exopodal segment of leg 4. The seta is supposed to be deformed from an outer spine on the third exopodal segment of leg 4, which has been known as completely lost in the genus until now. A character comparison table of the three species and a key to species of the genus Cyclopinopsis are provided herein.
