  • Purpose : Ando Tadao has his own unique architectural conception to reproduce natural view on site, and he continues to create new architecture without regarding to any principles. Ando Tadao experiments his imagination through the museum architecture, starts organization of space with light, and completes organization of space with light at once. Methods : The research works as follows: 1) Analyzes the meaningful characteristics showed in his architectural works. 2) Analyze organization of space and use of light in museums designed by Ando Tadao. 3) Selecte his representative museums in Korea and Japan, and then analyze space composition and light use through literature study and field survey. Result : The organization of museum space by Ando Tadao has a close relationship with the light. Light designed by Ando Tadao represents unique architectural varieties such as cushioning space, moving line, spatial characterization, and natural influx.

  • The stage for Tadao Ando's architectural works is not only in Japan but extends to many countries around the world. His creations are not limited to the world of architecture, but are widely acclaimed supported by public people as well. Why Tadao Ando's works are acknowledged and acclaimed so extensively? Japanese traditional elements used in the his works makes it so. Tadao Ando argued intuition and insanity which were deprived by modernism could recover with locality and it's historic elements laid importance to the self. To realize that, it is necessary the regeneration of landscape which was based on the site and self-reflection must accomplished with the nature. So as to regeneration of landscape, he used Japanese Landscape-gardening and make the nature condensed. With the su-ki, he made the architectural elements simple. And with the Japanese detoured circulation, he made deep and various space. In that way, he intended the nature which is changed with his idea experienced the way of yu-gen.

  • The increasing occurrence of abnormal weather conditions such as unusually heavy rains and strong winds adversely affects construction work. However, although these phenomena are localized, conventional weather forecasts have insufficient spatial resolution and update frequency to accurately predict weather conditions at construction sites. To address this issue, we introduced a pinpoint weather forecasting technology that improves spatial resolution and update frequency. The weather information obtained from this technology is processed and provided to construction sites in a comprehensible state, which enables construction workers to better prepare for weather conditions, thereby reducing the risk of accidents and delays. Furthermore, a safety management system was developed based on the relationship between weather and labor accidents. Predicting workplace accidents that are likely to occur on that day based on the impact of weather on the body enabled performing safety awareness activities, such as morning and lunch meetings, from a new perspective, improving safety awareness among construction workers and reducing the number of accidents on construction sites. This paper describes the development process of the proposed system and the utilization of weather forecasting at construction sites, which can be applied to other industries and contribute to improving safety and efficiency in various fields.

A Study on the Japanese Traditional Borrowed Landscape in Architecture of Ando Tadao -Focusing on his concept by 'polymerization of abstraction and representation'- (안도다다오 건축에 표현된 일본전통 차경기법에 관한 연구 -그의 '추상과 구상의 중합'에 의한 개념을 중심으로-)

  • Borrowed landscape is an Oriental gardening method to draw inside external natural landscape, and borrowed landscape of Japan has a different characteristic from that of Korea or China nature is manipulated and re-interpreted by human will in the course of applying it to architectural space. In other words, not the original scenery, but manipulated one appears which is cut, reduced, or deleted by architectural elements such as wall, window, or fence. Therefore, this study examined how architectural structure of Ando Tadao symbolizing modernist architecture understood and adopted Japanese traditional views on nature, that is, borrowed landscape. To this end, on the basis of the understanding on 'polymerization of abstraction and form' he mentioned, his geometric architectural principles are discussed, since this serves to be an important beginning of architectural concretization by the concept of 'form' experienced and perceived by human being through geometric means called architecture 'abstraction.' The findings of this study are as follows: first, it was found that Ando Tadao generates borrowed landscape effects by polymerizing and manipulating his simple and geometric structures with each other and thereby editing natural scenery, while Japanese traditional borrowed landscape introduces source scenery inside, through condensation and symbolization. Second, the results of this study revealed that his architecture functions to transcend external and internal realm of a space, which is also observed in Japanese traditional architectural borrowed landscape. Therefore, this study is considered significant in the sense that it proved that Ando Tadao's architectural language is based on borrowed landscape as a specific Japanese traditional element, going beyond the scope of previous studies focusing simply on the introduction of natural elements.

  • Modem church architecture in korea have many problems in the shape and composition of space and design method. Many church were built without consideration of the identity of the christian religion. The characters of Ando Tadao's church architecture are using the transition space, light and the symbol. The transition space similar to the approach process using in asian temple. It make a meditative space for the church during approach to the chapel. Ando Tadao make meditative space by using self-support wall. In here, Self-supporting wall devide space as the holly space and the common space. Light is very important element in church architecture. He introduce light and shadow in the chapel more significant element. Light and shadow make the space with very dignity. Also, Ando Tadao use symbol as important element. It make the identity of christian religion. He make that as a part of structure. The well-controled symbols change the simple space to more religious place.

  • The concept of homogeneous space which was made in during the modern architecture was criticize for making our circumstances uniformly. The difference of place disappeared. The concept of place, however, has been watching in Contemporary Architecture. A basis for the concept of place is 'movement in space'through the sense of the body. Thus, architectural methods for experiencing place are composing the sequence through the continuous time. It is important that the composition of sequences in place makes the spatial experiences with harmonies of architecture and environments in exterior space for people who enter the building. Tadao Ando makes place in terms of experiencing body. Compositions of sequence in his works are expressed very well at the approaching stages in the process of exterior space. This stud is to survey the compositions of approaching sequence in Tadao Ando's Works.
