  • The purpose of this study is to verify availability of the acoustic emission in-situ monitoring method to the internal leak and operating conditions of the turbine major valves relating to safety for turbine operating and prevention of turbine trouble at nuclear power plants. In this study, acoustic emission tests are performed when the pressurized electro-hydraulic control oil flowed through turbine electro-hydraulic controller oil check valve and turbine power/trip fluid solenoid valve in the condition of actual turbine operating. The acoustic emission method was applied to the valves at the site, and the background noise was measured far the abnormal plant condition. To judge for the leak existence ell the object valves, voltage analysis and frequency analysis of acoustic signal emitted from infernal leak in the valve operating condition are performed. It was conformed that acoustic emission method could monitor for valve internal leak to high sensitivity.

  • In this paper, a numerical application algorithm for applying the CFAM (Consistent Fluid Added Mass) matrix for a core seismic analysis is developed and applied to the 7-ducts core system to investigate the fluid effects on the dynamic characteristics and the seismic time history responses. To this end, three cases such as the in-air condition, the in-water condition without the fluid coupling terms, and the in-water condition with the fluid coupling terms are considered in this paper. From modal analysis, the core duct assemblies revealed strongly coupled out-of-phase vibration modes unlike the other cases with the fluid coupling terms considered. From the results of the seismic time history analysis, it was also verified that the fluid coupling terms in the CFAM matrix can significantly affect the impact responses and the seismic displacement responses of the ducts.

  • End-milling have been used widely in industrial system because it is effective to a material manufacturing with various shape. Recently the end-milling processing is needed the high-precise technique with good surface roughness and rapid time in precision machine part and electronic part. The optimum surface roughness has an effect on end-milling condition such as, cutting direction, spindle speed, feed rate and depth of cut, etc. Therefore this study was carried out to presume for mutual relation of end-milling condition to get the optimum surface roughness by regression analysis. The results shown that coefficient of determination($R^{2}m$) of regression equation has a fine reliability over 80% and regression equation of surface rough is made by regression analysis.

  • Recently, a structure has been larger and higher under the improvement of construction technique. So, a mass concrete constructions that a mat foundation thickness of structure is over 80cm have been many. Also, because of the reason of high strength of concrete, the matter of thermal crack have become an important task to be solved absolutely. tn a cause of a thermal crack occurrence, there are material used, mixture of concrete, construction condition and so forth. In this study, we executed temperature and stress analysis of mat foundation to know the effect of the construction condition on a thermal crack of mat foundation. And we evaluated quantitatively about the occurrence possibility of thermal crack using the hydration heat analysis program. By using of this analysis technique, we will can control skilfully the quality of a mat foundation in advance.

  • Demands of cosmetics are affected not only by the well-known elements such as brand, price, and customer's consumption capacity, but also by some latent factors, for example, weather and air environment. Due to complexity and dynamic changes of the above factors, their influences can hardly be estimated in an accurate way by the traditional approaches such as survey and questionnaires. Through modeling and statistical analysis of big data, this article studied the impacts of weather condition and air quality on customer flow and sales of the cosmetics distributors in China, and found several hidden influencing factors. It provided a big-data based method for the analysis of unconventional factors on cosmetics marketing in the changing weather condition and air environment.

  • This paper describes the calculation of the equivalent circuit parameters and the characteristic analysis of a capacitor-run type single-phase induction motor by means of the finite element method in coupled with the conventional equivalent circuit model. The circuit parameters of the stator are calculated form the lumped parameter and the slot leakage reactance of the rotor with the closed slot can be obtained by the use of slot pitch boundary condition. From the analysis result this combined equivalent circuit and finite element method which is used slot pitch boundary condition is compared with the experimental results, the validity of the method is proved.

  • Dynamic analysis of nano/micro bio-sensors based on a multiscale atomistic/continuum theory is introduced. We use a generalized atomistic finite element method (GAFEM) to analyze a bio-sensor which has $3{\times}N_a{\times}N_p$ degrees of freedom, where $N_p$ is the number of representative unit cells and $N_a$ is the number of atoms per unit cell. The stiffness matrix is derived from interatomic potential between pairs of atoms. This work contains two studies: (1) the resonance analysis of nano bio-sensors with different amount of target analyte and (2) the dependence of resonance frequency on finite element mesh. We also examine the Courant-Friedrichs-Lewy (CFL) condition based on the highest resonance frequency. The CFL condition is the criterion for the time step used in the dynamic analysis by GAFEM. Our studies can be utilized to predict the performance of micro/nano bio-sensors from atomistic perspective.

  • The fatality of pedestrian accounts for about 21.2% of all fatality at 2007 year in Korea. In car to pedestrian accident it is very important to inspect the throw distance of pedestrian after collision for exact reconstructing of the accident. The variables that influence on the throw distance of pedestrian can be classified into the factors of vehicle and pedestrian, and road condition. It was simulated by PC-CRASH, a kinetic analysis program for a traffic accident in sedan type vehicle and SPSS program was used for regression analysis. From the results, the throw distance of pedestrian increased with the increasing of vehicle velocity, and decreased with the increasing of impact offset. Also it decreased with the increasing of velocity of pedestrian at accident, and throw distance at the road condition of wet was longer than that at dry condition. Finally, the regression model of sedan type vehicle on the throw distance of pedestrian was as follows; $$dist_i=2.39-0.11offset_i+0.59speed_i-545height_i-0.25walk_i+2.78wet_i+{\epsilon}_i$$.

  • Though Korea has received attention through an exceptional economic growth and the big K-POP fever all over the world, its happiness level is not so high. Therefore, this research aims to find not only the Korean' s condition of the happiness and unhappiness, but also the way to enhance their happiness. We collected various web data(89,127 cases from 2013/01 to 2014/12) through searching our own 26 keywords based on Alderfer's ERG Theory. Also, we tried to analyze the subjects related to happiness and unhappiness by using LDA topic modeling. As the result, the condition of happiness and unhappiness were the top topics extracted from each field. We conducted the second detailed analysis based on the data of condition of the happiness and unhappiness which are the top topics of the previous analysis. From the second analysis result, we proposed several ways to enhance happiness from the perspective of government, corporate, family, education, social welfare. This paper is meaningful because it catches the condition of happiness and unhappiness based on a real web data as well as transform the data into the knowledge. Also, this paper provides the practical methods from the view from all walks of life that may enhance happiness and relieve unhappiness.

  • Resistance spot welding of aluminum alloys is based upon Joule heating of the components by passing a large current in a short duration. Since aluminum alloys have the potential to replace steels fur automobile body assemblies, it is important to study the process robustness of aluminum spot welding process. In order to evaluate the effects of process parameters on the weld quality, major process variables and abnormal process conditions were selected and analyzed. A newly developed two-stage, sliding-level experiment was adopted fur effective parameter design and analysis. Suitable ranges of welding current and button diameters were obtained through the experiment. The effects of the factors and their levels on the variation of acceptable welding current were considered in terms of main effects. From the results, it is concluded that any abnormal process condition decreases the suitable current range in the weld lobe curve. Pareto analysis of variance was also introduced to estimate the significant factors on the signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio. Among the six factors studied, fit-up condition is found to be the most significant factor influencing the SM ratio. Using a Pareto diagram, the optimal condition is determined and the SM ratio is significantly improved using the optimal condition.
