In legacy e-learning web service, as deployed contents are changed, web services should be changed together. In addition, it can not coordinate and manage the various e-learning services recently emerged. In this paper, an e-learning platform based on Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is proposed to solve these problems. We design and implement an e-learning system based on Service abstraction layer concepts. The implemented system can provide the new e-learning services within short development periods.

Data acquisition system mounted on the Solar Flare Telescope at Bohyunsan Optical Astronomy Observatory is briefly described. The system is made up with CCD cameras, an image processor, a PCI-type PC and a SUN workstation. The image processor, MVC 150/40 comprises a variable scan acquisition module, an image manager and a binary correlator computational module. A typical polarization image of a sunspot is presented to demonstrate performance of the system.

An extract of Alnus japonica (Betulaceae) cortex has been traditionally used for purifying blood, and curing feces containing blood, enteritis, diarrhea, alcoholism and cut wounds. In the preliminary test was carried out for determining whether it has the novel pharmacological activity, the butanol fraction showed significant inhibitory effect on carrageenan-induced paw edema as an acute inflammation, HCI.ethanol-induced gastric lesion and aspirin-ligation gastric ulcer. An association study with Korean alcoholic patients(n=50) and normal controls(n=53) was performed to find the relationship between catechol-O-methyltransferase(COMT) gene polymorphism and alcoholism using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism. When we compared the allele and genotype frequencies of Nla III COMT gene polymorphism in alcoholism and normal controls, there was no significant difference between two groups. Our results do not support an association between the Nla III polymorphism of COMT gene and alcoholism.

This paper presents the principle and fabrication of a novel micro mass spectrometer and emission test of hot electron for ionization. A micro mass spectrometer consists of a micro ion source and a micro ion separator. The micro ion source consists of a hot filament and grid electrodes. Electrons emitted from a hot filament are to ionize some sample molecules. The ions are accelerated to an ion detector by an electric field. Mass can be analyzed by using the time of fight depending on the mass-to-charge ratio. The current of hot electron emission from the hot filament is measured for various input voltages.

It is known that the address discharge delay time during an address period strongly depends on the wall charge leakage. It was observed that the wall charge leakage during an address period is related to both the address width and the ambient temperature. Accordingly, the effects of address electrode width on the address discharge and wall voltage variation during an address period were examined under variable temperatures.

In this paper, an improved method of environment map building and a region search algorithm for mobile robot are presented. For the environment map building of mobile robot, measurement data of ultrasonic sensors and certainty grid representation is usually used. In this case, inaccuracies due to the uncertainty of ultrasonic data are included in the map. In order to solve this problem, an environment map building method using a Bayesian model was proposed previously[5]. This study was conducted with a view toward enhancing the industrial utilization of a male sailfin sandfish Arctoscopus japonicus based on its application in the preparation of Sik-hae, a Korean traditional fermented fishery product prepared using hard-boiled rice and enzymatic malt sprouts. As an alternative to rice and malt sprouts, we evaluated the utility of rice Koji for Sik-hae fermentation by investigating the physicochemical changes that occur during fermentation. The sailfin sand fish Sik-hae fermented with 10% or 20% rice Koji was found to show similar fermentation characteristics to the control fermentation with 20% hard-boiled rice and 4% malt sprouts, with respect to acid production, texture profile, and the softening of bones during the entire fermentation period. In particular, compared with the control, the addition of 10% rice Koji reduced the dehydration of Sik-hae and increased the content of free amino acids, which contributed to preventing a marked reduction in pH during fermentation. Accordingly, 10% rice Koji is proposed as a viable alternative enzymatic agent for the preparation of Sik-hae, which can contribute enhancing the desired properties of this traditional food product.

This paper presents a maximum power point tracking(MPPT) of Photovoltaic system with chopping ratio of DC-DC converter considered load. A variation of solar irradiation is most important factor in the MPPT of PV system. That is nonlinear, aperiodic and complicated. The paper consists of solar radiation source, DC-DC converter, DC motor and load(cf, pump). NN algorithm apply to DC-DC converter through an adaptive control of neural network, calculates converter-chopping ratio using an adaptive control of NN. The results of an adaptive control of NN compared with the results of converter-chopping ratio which are calculated mathematical modeling and evaluate the proposed algorithm. The experimental data show that an adequacy of the algorithm was established through the compared data.
