Relation of weld-quality and core shape in injection molding (사출성형 시 코어 형상과 웰드품질과의 관계)

  • The injection molding is used in more than 70% of total production of plastic products. Weld line in injection molded part is one of the defects in injection molding process. Weld line deteriorates not only appearance quality but also mechanical property. In this study weld quality has been examined according to the injection processing temperature, materials and mold designs. We selected four different materials such as PA, PP, ABS and PS as experimental materials. Weld quality increased as injection processing temperature increases. It was more dependent on materials flow ability. As a result, weld quality incase of rectangular core is better than circular core.

  • Porous silica ceramics were prepared using DCCA(Drying Control Chemical Additives) Such as uncharged polymer(Polyethylene glycol) and protein (Lipase) under H2O/Low-grade TEOS=10 C2H5OH/Low-grade TEOS=1 HC1/Low=grade TEOS=0.01 After Plain which doesn't added DCCA and samples of 11 sorts which varied molecular weight of PEG(Mw=600, 1000, 2000) quantity of Lipase and concentration of wat-er were synthesized gellation time and thermal analysis were investigated. After heat-treated at 600, cry-stal structures analyses of SiO2 polymer and characteristics of pores were investigated. Gellation time was retarded about 2-6 times as compared with plain resulting in addition of DCCA and crystal structures ex-hibited amorphous state. Moreover as increase of water a short gellation time was obtained. The samples added PEG showed increase of specific surface areas up to 20-40% and had micropores while those of Lipase were decreased about 90% and showed broad pore size distribution.

  • We investigated the effects of annealing on the rearrangement of H-bonding structure and its influence on the thermal and rheological properties of $2^{nd}\;and\;4^{th}$ pseudo-generation aliphatic hyperbranched (HB) polyesters based on 2,2-bis(methylol)propionic acid. During annealing of amorphous HB polyesters, the structure becomes more ordered as a consequence of multiple H-bonds formation between linear sequences. Structure ordering is more pronounced for the lower pseudo-generation HB polyester with low molar mass, low degree of branching and incompletely reacted core hydroxyl groups which greatly increases the possibility for multiple H-bond interactions.

  • Novel molecular glassy POSS-based material having carbazole moiety as a photo- and electroactive group was synthesized, and its thermal, morphological, electrochemical, and optical properties were investigated. POSS having carbazole (POSS-Cz) was found to form easily amorphous glassy film by cooling the melt sample or by spin coasting onto glass substrate. POSS-Cz showed monomeric emission even in solid film, which suggests that carbazole moiety can be isolated even in solid state.

  • We have prepared an amphiphilic wedge-coil molecule consisting of a hydrophobic wedge-like segment and a hydrophilic poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) segment. The wedge-coil block molecule self-assembles into cylindrical nanofibers in both polar as well as nonpolar solvents. Remarkably, the resulting nanofibers, as solvent polarity change from water to n-hexane, change from highly flexible coil-like to stiff rod-like characteristics. This dynamic switching in the stiffness of the nanofibers in response to solvent polarity is attributed to the structural inversion of cylindrical core from bulky dendritic segments with amorphous nature to crystallizable linear PEO segments.

  • A new class of soluble PPV derivatives containing dimethyldodecylsilylphenyl unit as a pendant was synthesized by Gilch polymerization method. The resulting electroluminescent (EL) polymers showed good solubility, good film-forming ability onto the ITO substrate, and exhibited an amorphous morphology due to dimethyldodecylsilylphenyl branched group linked to the polymer backbone. The weight average molecular weights and polydispersities of the present EL polymers were in the range of 8.0-80.0 x $10^{4}$ and 2.67-7.80, respectively. The resulting EL polymers revealed a high thermal stability of up to $355-410^{\circ}C$. Their glass transition temperatures were in the range of $104-251^{\circ}C$. The emission colors could be tuned from green to orange-red colors by changing the MEH-PPV contents in copolymer systems. The turn-on voltages of the EL polymers were in the range of 1.8-4.0 V.

  • Thin film capacitors with Al-Polymer-Al sandwich structure were fabricated. The bottom and top aluminium (Al) electrodes were deposited by vacuum evaporation and copper phthalocyanine (CuPc), polyaniline-emeraldine base (Pani-EB) and cobalt phthalocyanine/polyaniline - emeraldine base (CoPc /Pani-EB) blend films (which can be used as buffer hole injection layer in OLEDs) were deposited by spin coating technique. X-ray diffractograms indicated amorphous nature of the polymer films whose thicknesses were measured by capacitance and Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry (RBS) methods. AC conduction studies revealed that the conduction mechanism responsible in these films is variable range hopping of polarons. From D.C conduction studies, it is observed that, the nature of conduction is ohmic in the lower fields and at higher fields the dominating D.C conduction is of Poole-Frenkel type.

  • The morphology, structure and melting behaviour of cold-crystallized isotactic polystyrene (iPS) were studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD) and small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS). The polymer was found to crystallize according to the dual-lamellar stack model. The two populations of lamellae, along with a melting-recrystallization phenomenon, determined the appearance of multiple melting peaks in DSC traces. The annealing peak was attributed to the relaxation of a rigid amorphous phase, rather than to the melting of crystalline material.

Effect of Zn Concentration on Amorphous ITZO Films Deposited on Polymer Substrate Using Magnetron Co-sputtering (마그네트론 2원 동시 방전법을 이용하여 polymer 기판위에 증착한 비정질 ITZO 박막의 Zn 함량 효과)

  • ITZO 박막은 2개의 캐소드 (DC, RF)를 이용하여 마그네트론 2원 동시 방전법에 의해 고온에서 안정한 polyimide 기판위에 상온에서 증착하고 $200^{\circ}C$에서 어닐링 하였다. XRD 측정 결과 어닐링 과정을 거친 막들은 Zn의 도입에 따란 결정성이 감소하다가 RF파워 280W에서 증착한 박막은 완전한 비정질 구조를 보였다. AFM 측정과 밴딩 테스트 결과, ITO 및 ITZO 박막들은 결정성이 감소할수록 매끄러운 표면과 낮은 저항 변화율을 보여주었다. 전기 비정항은 Zn 함량이 증가함에 따라 증가하였지만, 광학적 투과율은 $200^{\circ}C$ 어닐링 과정을 거친후의 막들에 있어서 증가됨을 보였다.

  • Over the last 20 years, biodegradable materials in medical applications have been studied extensively. Among these materials, poly(ε-caprolactone) and poly(trimethylene carbonate)(PTMC) are attractive biopolymers to be used as biodegradable sutures, artificial skin, drug release system. It was known that PCL is a nontoxic biocompatible semicrystalline polymer with melting point of 63℃, and PTMC is an amorphous or little crystaline polymer. (omitted)
