This study was performed to test the flame retardancy of zelkova sarrata-based materials by the treatment of ammonium salts. Zelkova sarrata plate was soaked by the treatment with three 20 wt% ammonium salt solutions consisting ammonium chloride (AMSL), monoammonium phosphate (MAPP), and diammonium phosphate (DAPP), respectively, at the room temperature. After the drying specimen treated with chemicals, combustion properties were examined by the cone calorimeter (ISO 5660-1). When the ammonium salts were used as the retardant for zelkova sarrata, the flame retardancy improved due to the treated ammonium salts in the virgin zelkova sarrata. However the specimen shows increasing CO over virgin zelkova sarrata and It is supposed that toxicities depend on extents. Also, the specimen with ammonium salts showed the higher total smoke release (TSR) than that of virgin plate. Of specimens treated with ammonium salts the ammonium chloride handled the test side was considered a improved inhibitory effect of combustion.
The endophytic bacteria were isolated from the rusty-root ginseng. This isolated bacteria were occurred the rusty-root ginseng with artificial inoculation. For the suppressing of rusty-ginseng, disinfectants, antibiotics, kitosan, micro-organisms and metabolites were tested to isolated endophytic bacterium. All of the isolated bacteria strains were sensitive sodium hypochlorite, however, some of isolated bacteria lines were sensitive to other tested materials. For example, D (didecyl dimethyl ammonium bromide), CIO$_2$, ODDA (octyldecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride + diocyul dimethyl ammonium chloride + alkyl diethyl benzyl ammonium chloride), GD (glutaraldehyde + dimethy cocobenzyl ammonium chloride) suppressed some of bacteria strains. Otherwise, some of antibiotics (e.g. ampicillin, chloramphenicol, erythromycin, kanamycin, neomycin, rifampin, streptomycin, tetracycline) were sensitive to the isolated bacteria strains. All of isolated bacteria strainswere inhibitive to the mixed formation with neomycin and streptomycin, and neomycin and tetracycline. Both sodium hypochlorite and antibiotic mixing of neomycin and tetracycline were effective to prevention of rusty-root ginseng of sub-merging ginseng in the ginseng field.
Cellulose was reacted with ethylene oxide to get hydroxyethylcellulose. Quaternary ammonium salt was produced by reaction of epichlorohydrin and trialkylamine. The epoxide ring was opened by acid addition to 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyltrialkylammonium chloride. Previously unreported two compounds, hydroxyethylcellulose-2-hydroxypropylammonium chloride ether and hydroxyethylcellulose-2-hydroxypropyltriethylammonium chloride ether were synthesized by substitution reaction of hydroxyethylcellulose with glycidyltrialkylammonium chloride or 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl-glycidyltrialkylammonium trialkylammonium chloride. All of the compounds including starting materials and reaction intermediates were characterized by $^1H$-NMR and FT-IR spectroscopy.
Veneer plate was painted by the treatment with ammonium salts such as ammonium chloride (AMCR), ammonium sulfate (AMSF), monoammonium phosphate (MAPP), and diammonium phosphate (DAPP) at room temperature. The physical property and flammability of painted veneer plate were investigated. In order to evaluate flammability of the treated veneer with ammonium salts, heat release rate (HRR) of the veneer was measured by a cone calorimeter according to ISO 5660-1 standard. The flammability painted veneener plate with ammonium salts was reduced compared to virgin veneer plate. The flashover possibility of veneer plates treated with these ammonium salts was examined by R. V. Petrella's classification using time to ignition and peak heat release rate. The specific gravities of veneer plates treated with only ammonium sulfate were higher than that of virgin veneer plate. Also, the veneer plates treated with ammonium salts showed lower equilibrium moisture contents over virgin veneer.
In order to understand the regulation of glutamate dehydrogenase(GDH) synthesis in Brevibacterium flavum, we have isolated a mutant lacking NADP-linked GDH activity by ethlmethane sulfonate treatment. The $gdh^-$ mutant was grown on the minimal plate with 1mM ammonium chloride and not that with 300mM ammonium chloride. The cell-free extracts from $gdh^-$ mutant and prototroph were also examined with glutamine synthetase(GS) and glutamate synthase (GOGAT) production by niteogen sources. The growth of $gdh^-$ mutant in presence of 20mM ammonium chloride means that GOGAT synthesis is sufficient to allow growth in this condition. GS production of $gdh^-$ mutant as well as parental strain was induced by 1mM urea and ammonium tartrate, but it was repressed by higher concentration of ammonia, and also induced by 20mM to 50mM glutamate as a substrate. It was special attention that GOGAT synthesis from $gdh^-$ strain was more repressed by higher concentration of ammonia than prototroph as described in E. coli system.

The nickel0zinc allot depositions have been studjen in ammonium chloridw added chloride baths to fine out the effects of ultrasonic irradiation for the electrodeposition processes. The compositions of deposited alloys, the current efficiencies, corrosion resistance and brightness in various conditions of electrodeposition were investigated, in the range of ultrasonic irradiation of 50,500 and 1,000kc/s respectively. The results obtained are as follows; 1. the ratio of nikel to zinc in the deposit increased according 시 the ammonium chloride concentration in irradiated baths. 2. The current efficiencies became also higer in the irradiated bath. 3. Ammonium ions in solution seem to retard formation of zinc hydroxide. 4. The corrsion resistance and brightness of the deposits are dependent upon nickel content of deposits which ranges 10-18%(wt)nickel in the irradiated baths and 11-15%(wt)in ninirradisted baths. 5. The corrosion resistance and brightnes of the deposited are appreciably better in the irradiated baths than in non-irradiated bath with the mole ratio of 3.4(NH+4/Ni+++Zn++).

Artifacts due to inter-particle and gas-particle interactions during PM2.5 sampling were quantified by comparing the measurement results between the annular denuder-filterpack system and the filterpack system without denuder. Measurements were carried in Seoul for 10 days in each season; Nov. 2004, Jan. 2005, Mar. 2005, and Jul. 2005, respectively. In each day, two 12-h samples were obtained. The concentrations of nitrate and chloride showed seasonal variations mainly due to the availability of ammonium to neutralize nitrate or chloride. Nitrates and chloride losses were prominent in summer. Since most of ammonia was used to neutralize sulfuric acid and formed ammonium sulfate in summer, nitrate and chloride could not exist in particles and ammonium loss was smaller than other seasons.
The shells of Anadarac tegillarca granosa, Crassostrea gigas, Crassostrea nippona, and Patinopecten yessoensis were used for preparation of calcium carbonate with high purity. Calcium content in ash of shell was the highest $64.9\%$ in Anadarac tegillarca granosa ashed for 5 hr at $900^{\circ}C$, and followed as Patinopecten yessoensis $62.5\%$, Crassostrea gigas $62.4\%$, and Crassostrea nippona $61.5\%$. Whiteness of ash was the highest 81.6-85.8 in Patinopecten yessoensis shell. Calcium contents in calcium carbonates made with shells of Anadarac tegillarca granosa by using ammonium chloride process (ACP) and ammonium nitrate process (ANP) were higher $40.03-40.04\%$ than $39.92\%$ in Anadarac tegillarca granosa ash. Calcium content was the highest $40.04\%$ in pH adjusted calcium carbonate prepared by using ANP. Whiteness of calcium carbonate prepared by using ACP and ANP was the level of 101.0-101.5. Therefore, we estimated that the calcium carbonate made by using ACP and ANP could be used potentiality as a food additive for calcium supplement.
In this study, the effect of ammonium chloride on the electrodeposition of CoP magnetic alloy film was investigated. The correlation between the electrodeposition condition and the magnetic properties was tried to elucidate by the electro- analytical tests such as cyclic voltammetry. It was observed that the magnetic properties of the films were varied extensively with the ammonium chloride contents in the solution. The reason why the magnetic properties of the films were varied with the addition of ammonium chloride was thought that the addition of ammonium chloride controlled the electrocrystallization of CoP kinetically by charge transfer and increased the grain size and the orientation factor. This may cause the variation of the magnetic properties of CoP films.
Effects of dilution rate, inlet glucose and ammonium chloride concentrations on ,he performance of continuous culture of Alcaligenes eutrQPhus for poly-p-hydroxybutyrate (PHB) production were investigated. When inlet substrate concentrations were maintained constant (inlet glucose concentration = 20 g/l, inlet ammonium chloride concentration = 2 g/l), growth rate of residual biomass and PHB production rate showed its maximum at $0.1h^{-1}$ and $0.06h^{-1}$, respectively, and washout at $0.13h^{-1}$. PHB content decreased from 50% to 25% by increasing dilution rate, while specific PHB production rate increased continuously. Cell mass and PHB concentration gave its maximum values at inlet ammonium chloride concentration of 2 g/l and thereafter decreased, which showed the existence of substrate inhibition by ammonium. When inlet glucose concentration was 30 g/l, cell mass reached its maximum value, while PHB concentration increased continuously. The parameters of kinetic model were evaluated by the graphical and parameter estimation methods. The computer simulation results for the effects of dilution rate, inlet glucose and ammonium chloride concentrations fitted the experimental data very well.
