  • It was investigated that two rods of aluminium can be welded by hot extru-pressure welding method with stepped welding dies, and that the welding pressure on the welding surface were analyzed by computer simulation according to the stepped shapes of welding dies. It was known by computer simulation that welding pressure on the welding section of rods welded using stepped welding dies without eccentricity is lowerer than the welding pressure of rods welded using stepped welding dies with eccentricity of welding surface, and that the welding pressure on the welding section of rods using eccentric-inclined stepped welding dies is higher than the welding pressure of rods using stepped welding dies without eccentricity. And it was known by experiments that two rods of aluminium can be welded on the end sections by hot pressure welding method using eccentric-inclined stepped welding dies without relative rotational movement of contacted aluminium rods needed for the purpose of friction heating and pressure.

  • New design method about the spread footing was developed using only soil and geosynthetics. This footing will be able to replace the concrete footing at constructing the foundation of small structures. As shown in Fig-3(b), after excavating the ground in semicircular shape, geosynthetics is layed on the semicircular shape of ground and let the soil filled. Geosynthetics of upper side are fixed tightly each other It can be thought to be a kind of great bag with semicircular shape. We performed two kinds of experiments to investigate the deformation and the failure shape of spread footing reinforced by geosynthetics. First, after making model ground with aluminium rods, the lattice point of 1cm ${\times}$ 1cm size of the side of aluminium rods have been painted with various kinds of colors. We have observed the movement of painted rods during loading. Second, we have taken pictures about failure process using B-shutter method. Analysing the behavior of model ground reinforced in a semicircular shape, we could know the reinforced one has much greater and wider plastic area than unreinforced one at failure. Based on the experimental results, new design method was proposed, which has a possibility to apply at the field works.

  • Lateral loading model tests were performed on the rigid box-shaped cellular bulkhead by displacement-controlled method. The materials of ground and fill used in this study are two aluminium rods with different sections. The behalf·iotas of ground and fill were recorded by photo/video techniques and failure mechanism created in ground and fill has been simulated two-야mensionally. Also the theoretical consideration about the test results was done on the basis of Hansen's earth pressure theory. As a result, the shape of sliding face the location of sliding face and the loading height was also investigated.

  • In urban areas, tunnelling induced ground deformations, particularly ground settlements should be considered in order to minimize the damage of adjacent structures. Therefore, an appropriate monitoring system for the tunnel construction should be setup at the planning or design stage. A number of studies on ground settlements due to tunnelling in soft ground have been carried out so far. However, most studies have focused on clay soil rather than sand soil. In particular, a few studies on behaviour of subsurface deformations in granular material have been reported. In this study, two-dimensional laboratory model test with aluminium rods regarded as continuum granular material and close range photogrammetric technique, and numerical analysis were carried out in order to identify the behaviour of subsurface deformations due to shallow tunnelling. Direction and magnitude of displacement vectors from the model test was identical to the numerical analysis. In particular, the vector direction was appeared to be toward a point below the tunnel invert level. A narrow 'chimney or tulip like' pattern of vertical displacement was confirmed by both the model test and numerical analysis. This is consistent with the field data. In addition to the qualitative comparison, the quantitative comparison of subsurface settlements according to 2D volume loss showed good agreement between the model test and numerical analysis. Therefore, close range photogrammetric technique applied in the model test may be used to validate the result from the continuum numerical analysis.

이미지 프로세싱을 이용한 얕은 터널 모형실험과 수치해석의 비교 (Comparison of Shallow Model Tunnel Test Using Image Processing and Numerical Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 사질토 지반에서의 얕은 터널굴착으로 인한 지반변형 거동을 규명하기 위해 연속체 사질토 지반을 모사 하는 알루미늄 봉과 근거리 사진계측기법을 이용하여 2차원 실내모형실험을 실시하였다. 실험결과에 근거하는 수치해석으로부터 생성된 변위벡터의 방향과 크기는 모형실험 결과와 거의 일치하였다. 특히, 벡터의 방향은 터널의 인버트 아래 어느 한 점을 향하는 것으로 나타났다. 좁은 "굴뚝 또는 튜울립" 형태의 수직변위는 수치해석 및 모형실험 결과에서 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 양상은 현장에서 측정한 결과와 잘 일치된다. 정성적인 비교와 더불어 지중에서의 2차원 지반손실에 따른 정량적인 침하량 비교 결과, 모형실험에서 측정된 지중침하량이 수치해석 결과 잘 일치됨을 보여주었다. 따라서 본 모형실험에 적용된 근거리 사진계측기법은 수치해석 결과를 검증하는데 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.

재활용 산화철 및 알루미늄 분말을 활용한 철도레일 이음용 테르밋 분말 개발 (Development of Thermite Powder for Rail Joining with Recycled Iron Oxide and Aluminium Powder)

  • Nowadays in Republic of Korea, whole amount of the thermite welding powder for rail joinning is dependent on import. However the demand of the thermite welding powder would be enlarge because some constructing high-speed train and city metro projects are currently in progress. In addition this is the main reason why we should develop the thermite welding powder, domestically. This study is focused on utilizing the recyclable materials like Al powders from cans and iron oxide scales from wire rods as the main components of the thermite welding powder. By minimizing Al content in weld zone by controlling the mixing ratio of the Al powder in the thermite welding powder, the excessive dissolution of the Si and Mn components came from the Al powders could be controled. The tensile strength of welding zone in welded rail was 740 MPa, with that the developed thermite welding powder.

  • 지반모형실험에서 2차원 평면변형률 상태를 모사하기 위해서는 흙을 담을 수 있는 두꺼운 유리 또는 플라스틱 시트의 토조가 필요하며, 이 때 흙과 접촉되는 토조벽면에서의 마찰저항을 최소화 하여야 한다. 하지만, 실제로 이러한 벽면마찰을 완전히 제거할 수는 없다. 본 연구에서는 벽면 마찰저항을 제거하기 위해 다양한 지름을 갖는 알루미늄 봉 지반모델을 도입하고 실내전단시험에 적용하였다. 또한 근거리 사진계측기법을 전단시험에 적용해 유용성을 검증하였다. 그 결과, 근거리 사진계측으로부터 얻은 평균 팽창각은 전단시험의 전단변형률-체적변형률 곡선으로부터 얻는 팽창각에 근접함을 확인할 수 있었다.

Photo Imaging Process 기법 및 수치해석을 이용한 터널주변 파일기초거동에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Pile Behaviour Adjacent to Tunnel Using Photo Imaging Process and Numerical Analysis)

  • 기존의 구조물 또는 서비스에 근접한 터널굴착이 지상공간의 부족으로 인해 종종 도심지에서 이루어지며, 이러한 터널굴착으로 발생하는 지반변위가 인접한 구조물에 손상을 발생시킨다. 본 연구는 근거리 사진계측을 이용한 2차원 모형 파일-지반-터널굴착 실험에 초점을 두었다. 실험장비 및 절차와 더불어 마찰이 있는 사질토 지반으로 간주하는 알루미늄 봉의 특성에 대해서 소개하였다. 실험결과, VMS와 EngVis 프로그램을 이용한 포토 이미지 프로세스는 터널굴착으로 인한 파일 선단부의 거동을 측정하는데 유용한 도구임을 잘 보여 주었다. 결론적으로 사진계측기술을 이용한 실내모형실험을 통해 영향권과 관련된 파일 선단부의 거동 데이터를 생성할 수 있다. 본 연구는 사질토 지반에서 터널굴착으로 인한 정규화 된 파일 선단부의 침하를 근간으로 하는 영향권을 제시한다. 이러한 영향권은 실내모형실험과 수치해석을 통해 규명하였다. 모형실험으로부터 정규화 된 파일 선단부의 거동은 수치해석 결과와 잘 일치하였다. 본 논문에서 제시된 영향권은 계획단계에서 터널시공 위치를 선정하는데 유용할 것으로 판단되나, 지반조건을 고려하는 실제 상황에 적용끈기 위해서는 모형파일과 모형터널의 크기에 대한 축척을 실제크기와 맞게 조정해야 한다.
