The results of microstructure observations of the $Al_2O_3$ scale formed on a Fe-Cr-Al steel during high temperature oxidation in the $SO_2$ atmosphere are presented. Morphology of the scale has been studied by SEM and TEM techniques. Phase and chemical compositions have been studied by EDX and XRD techniques. The alumina oxide is a primary component of the scale. TEM observations showed that the scale was multilayer. The entire surface of the scale is covered with "whiskers", which look like very thin platelets and have random orientation. The cross section of a sample shows, that the "whiskers" are approximately $2{\mu}m$ high, however the compact scale layer on which they reside is $0.2{\mu}m$ thick. The scale layer was composed mainly of small equiaxial grains and a residual amount of small columnar grains. EDX analysis of the scale surface showed that the any sulfides were found in the formed outer and thin inner scale layer. A phase analysis of the scale formed revealed that it is composed mainly of the $\theta-Al_2O_3$ phase and a residual amount of $\alpha-Al_2O_3$.

Natural hydraulic lime (NHL) is produced by burning a form of low-grade limestone containing silica and alumina which, above certain temperatures, combine with calcium oxide. The resulting silicates and aluminates impart hydraulic properties to the product. This study aims to determine the calcined characteristics of NHL using domestic low-grade limestone with maximized hydraulic properties. Six types of low-grade limestone containing $SiO_2$ were selected and experiments were carried out with different burning temperatures and holding times. The burning temperature and holding time as the most suitable burning conditions were $1,200^{\circ}C$ to $1,300^{\circ}C$ and 3 to 7 h, respectively, for the manufacturing of NHL from domestic low-grade limestone. These results demonstrate the feasibility of NHL using domestic low-grade limestone to produce NHL.

$SnO_2$ gas sensor for the detection DMMP, simulant of nerve gas was fabricated and its characteristics were examined. Sensing materials were $SnO_2$ added by TEX>$\alpha$-$Al_{2}O_{3}$ with 0∼20wt.% and $In_{2}O_{3}$ with 0∼3wt.% and were physically mixed each material. They were deposited by screen printing method on alumina substrate. The sensor was consisted of sensing electrode with interdigit(IDT) type in front and a heater in back side. Its dimension was 7$\times$10$\times$0.6$\textrm{mm}^2$. Crystallite size 8t phase identification, specific surface area and morphology of fabricated $SnO_2$ powders were analyzed by X-ray diffraction(XRD), surface area analyzer(BET) and by a scanning electron microscope(SEM), respectively. Sensor was measured as flow type and sensor resistance change was monitored as real time using LabVIEW program. The best sensitivities were 75% at adding 4wt.% TEX>$\alpha$-$Al_{2}O_{3}$, operating temperature $300^{\circ}C$ and 87% at adding 2wt.% $In_{2}O_{3}$, operating temperature $350^{\circ}C$ to DMMP 0.5ppm. Response and recovery times were about 1 and 3 min., respectively. Repetition measurement was very good with $\pm$3% in full scale. As a result, operating temperature was lower TEX>$\alpha$-$Al_{2}O_{3}$ than $In_{2}O_{3}$, but sensitivity was higher $In_{2}O_{3}$ than $\alpha$-$Al_{2}O_{3}$.
The Ni based adsorbent was prepared by co-precipitation method and its performance for removing carbon monoxide was investigated. Here, silica, aluminium silicate and ${\gamma}$-alumina were used for carriers of catalyst. $Ni(NO_3)_2{\cdot}6H_2O$ and $Ni(CH_3COO)_2{\cdot}4H_2O$ were utilized for Ni precursors. Precipitants were urea and citric acid. After precipitation of Ni salt on the carrier and following reduction using $H_2$ gas, adsorbent was prepared and its performance was analyzed based on EDS, TPR and XRD experiments. In accordance with change of precipitation agents, Ni salts on carrier, carriers and reduction condition. Adsorbent performance for removing carbon monoxide was investigated. The adsorbent with 54.8 wt% Ni prepared using urea precipitant under reduction condition at $500^{\circ}C$ for 3 h exhibited the best CO removal performance.
Yttrium Aluminum Garnet (YAG) powders were prepared by precipitation of Y hydroxides during milling of alumina powders. The powder calcined at 1200$^{\circ}C$ for 4 h contained a small amount of Yttrium Aluminum Monoclinic (YAM) in addition to YAG. However, phase-pure YAG was obtained in the compact of the milled powder with an average particle size of 0.57 ${\mu}$m at 1300$^{\circ}C$, which is much lower than those (l500∼1600$^{\circ}C$) for a mixed oxide method. The powder was found to exhibit an excellent sinterability regardless of the addition of a sintering aid, SiO$_2$(350 ppm Si). The undoped sample were sintered to a relative density of 98% at l600$^{\circ}C$. In contrast, the addition of SiO$_2$ caused a considerable densification to occur at 1500$^{\circ}C$ and the relative density reached 97.7%. But the sintering aid had little effect on the densification at 1600$^{\circ}C$, showing a similar relative density to the undoped sample.
Some basic properties of inorganic coatings hardened by the room temperature reaction with alkalies were examined. The coating paste was prepared from the powders in the system $Al_2O_3-SiO_2$-CaO using blast furnace slag, fly ash and amorphous ceramic fiber after mixing with a solution of sodium hydroxide and water glass. The mineralogical and morphological examinations were performed for the coatings prepared at room temperature and after heating to $1200^{\circ}C$ respectively. The binding force of the coating hardened at room temperature was caused by the formation of fairly dense matrix mainly composed of oyelite-containing amorphous phase formed by the reaction between blast furnace slag and alkali solution. At the temperature, fly ash and ceramic fiber was not reacted but imbedded in the binding phase, giving the fluidity to the paste and reinforcing the coating respectively. During heating up to $1200^{\circ}C$, instead of a break in the coating, anorthite and gehlenite was crystallized out by the reaction among the binding phase and unreacted components in ternary system. The crystallization of these minerals revealed to be a reason that the coating maintains dense morphology after heating. The maintenance of binding force after heat treatment is seemed to be also caused by the formation of welldispersed fiber-like mineral phase which is originated from the shape of the amorphous ceramic fiber used as a raw materials.
The barium strontium calcium titanate((Ba,Sr,Ca)$TiO_3$) powders prepared by the sol-gel method and $MnCO_3$ as acceptor were mixed oxide method. The microstructure was investigated with variation of $Pr_{2}O_{3}$ amount. The BSCT powder and $Pr_{2}O_{3}$ were mixed with organic vehicle(Ferro. B75001). BSCT thick films were fabricated by the screen-printing method on alumina substrates. The bottom electrode was Pt and upper electrode was Ag, respectively. All BSCT thick films were sintered at $1420^{\circ}C$, for 2h. The result of the differential thermal analysis(DTA), exothermic peak at around $654^{\circ}C$ due to the formation of the polycrystalline perovskite phase. In the X-ray diffraction(XRD) patterns, all BSCT thick films showed the typical perovskite polycrystalline structure and no pyrochlore phase was dbserved. The microstructure investigated by scanning electron microscope(SEM). Pore and grain size of BSCT thick films were decreased with increasing amount of $Pr_{2}O_{3}$ dopant. And the average grain size and thickness of BSCT thick films doped with 0.1 mol% $Pr_{2}O_{3}$ was $3.09{\mu}m$, $60{\mu}m$, respectively. The relative dielectric constant decreased and dielectric loss decreased with increasing amount of $Pr_{2}O_{3}$ dopant, the values of the BSCT thick films no doped with $Pr_{2}O_{3}$ were 7443 and 4 % at 1 kHz, respectively.
In this work, high-k dielectric stacks of $HfO_2$ and $HfO_2$/$Al_2O_3$/$HfO_2$ (HAH) were deposited on $SiO_2/Si$ substrates by atomic layer deposition as charge trapping layers in charge trapping devices. The structural stability and the charge trapping characteristics of such stacks were investigated using Metal-Alumina-Hafnia-Oxide-Silicon (MAHOS) structure. The surface roughness of $HfO_2$ was stable up to 11 nm with the insertion of 0.2 nm thick $Al_2O_3$. The effect of the thickness of the HAH stack and the thickness of intermediate $Al_2O_3$ on charge trapping characteristics were investigated for MAHOS structure under various gate bias pulse with duration of 100 ms. The threshold voltage shift after programming and erase showed that the memory window was increased with increasing bias on gate. However, the programming window was independent of the thickness of HAH charge trapping layers. When the thickness of $Al_2O_3$insertion increased from 0.2 nm to 1 nm, the erase window was decreased without change in the programming window.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the shear bond strength (SBS) of orthodontic brackets bonded to three-dimensionally (3D)-printed materials after various surface treatments and artificial aging compared with that bonded to computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA)-milled materials. Methods: Eighty cylindrical specimens were 3D printed and divided into the following four subgroups (n = 20 each) according to the surface treatment and artificial aging procedure. Group A, sandblasted with 50 ㎛ aluminum oxide particles (SA) and aging; group B, sandblasted with 30 ㎛ silica-coated alumina particles (CO) and aging; group C, SA without aging; and group D, CO without aging. For the control group, 20 CAD-CAM PMMA-milled cylindrical specimens were sandblasted with SA and aged. The SBS was measured using a universal testing machine (0.25 mm/min), examined at ×2.5 magnification for failure mode classification, and statistically analyzed (p = 0.05). Results: The retention obtained with the 3D-printed materials (groups A-D) was higher than that obtained with the PMMA-milled materials (control group). However, no significant difference was found between the study and control groups, except for group C (SA without aging), which showed significantly higher retention than the control group (PMMA-SA and thermocycling) (p = 0.037). Study groups A-D predominantly exhibited a cohesive specimen mode, indicating specimen fracture. Conclusions: Orthodontic brackets bonded to 3D-printed materials exhibit acceptable bonding strengths. However, 3D-printed materials are prone to cohesive failure, which may result in crown fractures.
Sustainable energy supplies without the recharging and replacement of the charge storage device have become increasingly important. Among various energy harvesters, the triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) has attracted considerable attention due to its high instantaneous output power, broad selection of available materials, eco-friendly and inexpensive fabrication process, and various working modes customized for target applications. In this study, the amount of voltage and current generated was measured by applying the PSD profile random vibration test of the electronic vibration tester and ISTA 3A according to the time of Anodized Aluminum Oxide (AAO) pore widening of the manufactured TENG device Teflon and AAO. The discharge and charging tests of the integrated module during the random simulated transport environment and the recognition distance of RFID were measured while agricultural products (onion) were loaded into the returnable folding plastic box. As a result, it was found that AAO alumina etching processing time to maximize TENG performance was optimal at 31 min in terms of voltage and current generation, and the integrated module applied with the TENG module showed a charging effect even during the continuous use of RFID, so the voltage was kept constant without discharge. In addition, the RFID recognition distance of the integrated module was measured as a maximum of 1.4 m. Therefore, it was found that the surface condition of AAO, a TENG element, has a great influence on the power generation of the integrated module, and due to the characteristics of TENG, the power generation increases as the surface dries, so it is judged that the power generation can be increased if the surface drying treatment (ozone treatment, etc.) of AAO is applied in the future.
