Aluminum Isopropoxide와 Sodium Hydroxide로부터 $\beta$-Alumina의 합성과 결정화 과정 및 전도도 (Synthesis, Crystallization Behaviors and Conductivity of $\beta$-Alumina from Aluminum Isopropoxide and Sodium Hydroxide)

  • A mixture of aluminum isopropoxide (Al(OC3H7i)3) solution and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution was hydrolyzed in the range between pH 1~14. the powder obtained from sol-gel process was calcined at several temperatures and crystallization behaviors of various samples were investigated. The hydrolyzed sols of pH 1~6 wre clear, or near clear. On the other hand, powder precipitated from sols of pH 7~14. The sample obtained from pH 3 solution crystallized via complicated route, and $\beta$-Al2O3 and $\beta$"-Al2O3 phases appeared at lower temperature than samples from other pH conditions. And the quantity of remained $\beta$"-Al2O3 phase after heat treatment at 150$0^{\circ}C$ was more than samples from other pH conditions. After sintering, ionic conductivities were 1.3$\times$10-4S.cm-1 to 0.76$\times$10-4S.cm-1.0-4S.cm-1.

수열합성 공정을 통한 알루미나 코팅층의 나노구조 조절에 의한 반사방지 특성의 변화 (Change of Anti-reflective Optical Property by Nano-structural Control of Alumina Layer through Hydro-thermal Process)

  • 박막 및 디스플레이 분야에서는 광학 부품소재의 우수한 광 투과성과 투명성을 요구하는 수요가 증가함에 따라 우수한 반사방지 특성의 부여에 대하여 관심이 집중되고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 반사방지 기능을 부여하기 위하여 졸-겔법에 의한 수열합성법을 통하여 기저 물질 표면에 산화알루미늄을 나노 크기 꽃 형태의 프레임 구조를 가진 단일 산화물층을 형성시키고자 하였다. 코팅 층 시편의 특성은 UV-Vis 분광기, FT-IR 분광기, XRD 및 FE-SEM을 이용하여 분석하였다. 알루미나 졸이 코팅된 시편들의 모폴로지는 수열합성의 온도와 시간 및 초음파 제공에 의해 조절되도록 하였다. 꽃 형태의 나노 프레임 구조 형태로 구성된 코팅 층에서 높은 광투과율과 반사방지특성이 발현되었다.

토양 중 dioxin-like PCBs의 분석 (Analysis of dioxin-like PCBs in Soil samples)

  • 토양에 잔류하는 화학물질로서 지속적으로 토양 환경에 영향을 미치고 있는 PCBs에 대한 분석을 위해 많은 연구들이 이루어져 왔다. 본 연구에서는 이들 유기화합물질 중 coplanar PCBs 분석을 위한 용매별 용출패턴 특성을 조사하였고, 이화학적 특성이 다른 우리나라 토양 중 PCBs 분석에 미치는 용매별 추출효율을 조사하였다. 토양 중 14종의 coplanar PCBs 용매별 추출효율은, 톨루엔의 경우 토양 A, 토양 B 및 토양 C에 대하여 평균회수율은 각각 84.25%, 56.09% 및 44.69%로 나타났다. 아세톤 : 헥산 (1:1)의 경우에는 토양에 따라 각각 52.56%, 81.42% 및 58.53%로 나타났으며, 디클로로메탄의 경우에는 각각 55.94%, 71.33% 및 61.05%로 나타났다. 추출효율에 대한 염화물의 치환수는 크게 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 인 및 질소화합물 등 이온성 물질을 많이 함유하고 있는 토양에는 극성이 큰 용매인 아세톤:헥산 혼합용매가 가장 높은 회수율을 나타났으며, 반면에 토양 A와 같이 인 및 질소화합물의 함량이 작고 점토질인 토양에는 톨루엔과 같은 비극성용매의 추출효율이 우세하게 나타났다. 또한, 정제컬럼별 용출효율은 실리카겔, 플로리실 및 알루미나가 49.99%, 69.65% 그리고 65.23%로 나타났다.

$TiO_2$ 복합 분리막의 제조를 위한 졸-겔 코팅공정 분석 (Analysis of the Sol-Gel Coating Process for the Preparation of Supported TiO2 Composite Membranes)

  • The titania membrane thickness coated on the porous alumina support by the sol-gel method was analyzed using the slipcasting model. The thickness of calcined membrane layers increased linearly from 1.3 to 3.8 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ with the square root of the dipping time (4~40 min). Growth rates of the thickness of wet gels and calcined layers were well described quantitatively by the slipcasting model. Through the regression of experimental data using model equations, the permeability and the pressure drop across wet gels, and the thickness and their growth rate constants of wet gels and calcined layers could be determined. It was also known that the gellation concentration of the TiO2 sol used in this work and the porosity of wet gel layes were 25 mol/ι and 0.53, respectively.

  • ZnO thick films by Sol-Gel processing were investigated electrics, optics and the sensing characteristics of CO gas. Using the znic acetate dihydrate and acetylaceton (AcAc) as a chelating agent, stable ZnO sol was synthesized. ZnO phase was crystallized through the heat-treatment at $70^{\circ}C$ for 4hrs and influenced the sensing characteristics of the electrics and CO gas by uniform particle distributions not related particle size. The samples on the alumina substrate by thick films were investigated the properties of electrics and the effect of sensing. The sensitivity was so excellent in the sample of the heat-treatment at $600^{\circ}C$ for 12hrs and good in the heat-treatment for 1hrs generally. Crystallization and volatilization of organic materials according to the change of heating treatment temperature of thick films were analyzed by TG-DTA, XRD and mirostructure of thick films were observed by SEM.

졸-겔 방법으로 제조된 Er doped $Al_2O_3/SiO_2$ 필름의 다공성과 결정성에 대한 광 발광 특성 (The dependence of porosity and crystallity on photoluminescence properties of Er doped $Al_2O_3/SiO_2$ films prepared by sol-gel method)

  • Optical amplificator have been used to compensate the losses in the optical signal transmission and processing. Today, there has been increasing demand for the very low cost optical amplifier. Sol-gel offers considerable potential both low cost manufacture, and for great flexibility in materials composition and structure. In addition, the sol-gel process is a very attractive method for producing porous materials with controlled structure. In this work, we present the potoluminescence properties of Er doped A1$_2$O$_3$/SiO$_2$ films. Erbium doped alumina nano sol was prepared by Al(NO$_3$)$_3$.9$H_2O$ and Er(NO$_3$)$_3$.5$H_2O$ through hydrolysis and peptization, and then GPS (3-Glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane) was added into Er doped alumina nano sol for organic- inorganic hybridization. Er doped A1$_2$O$_3$/SiO$_2$ film was obtained by spin coating, dip coating and thermal treatment from 30$0^{\circ}C$~120$0^{\circ}C$, and there were crack-free after thermal treatment. The thickness of film was measured SEM, and the porosity of film was characterized by BET and TGA. The crystal phase of Er doped A1$_2$O$_3$/SiO$_2$ were determined by XRD. Finally, the photoluminescence properties of Er doped A1$_2$O$_3$/SiO$_2$ films will be discuss with the consideration of porosity and crystallity.

High-Temperature Behavior of Ba-Doped Boehmite Hydrothermally Prepared from $Al(OH)_3$ and $Ba(OH)_2$

  • Minute boehmite crystals with high aspect rations, which were hydrothermally synthesized from gibbsite in $Ba(OH)_2$ solution, occluded Ba with the Ba/Al molar ratio of about 0.03 in their interlayers. Their surface areas were about 14$\m^2$/g. The Ba-intercalated bohemite samples were partly used for producing $BaAl_{12}O){19}$ with low sinterability by externally supplementing $Ba(OH)_2$, and for forming transient aluminas. The surface area of $BaAl_{12}O){19}$ obtained by firing at $1500^{\circ}C$ for 3 h was 5.3$\m^2$/g, which was significantly lower than 12$\m^2$/g of the sol-gel origin. While a mixture ${\gamma}$-alumina and BaO is known to from $BaAl_{12}O){19}$ at $1200^{\circ}C$, solid state reaction between η-alumina transformed from the Ba-intercalated boehmite and BaO formed from $Ba(OH)_2$ deposited on the boehmite started above $1300^{\circ}C$. This suggests that large sized $Ba^{2+}$ ion occluded in η-alumina considerably suppresses the diffusion of $Al^{3+}$ ion. The surface area of the Ba-intercalated boehmite fired at $1400^{\circ}C$ for 3h was as high as 14$\m^2$/g indicative of its potential applicability to combustion catalysts. But it was decreased to 5.0$\m^2$/g after firing at $1500^{\circ}C$ for 3 h, accompanied by abrupt formations of $\alpha$-alumina and $BaAl_{12}O){19}$ as main products. The suppression of $\alpha$-alumina formation up to $1400^{\circ}C$ also suggests the significant blocking effect of $Ba^{2+}$ ion on the diffusion of the component ions.

Fabrication and Characterization of Alumina/Silver Nanocomposites

  • Alumina/silver nanocomposites were fabricated using a soaking method through a sol-gel route to construct an intra-type nanostructure. The pulse electric-current sintering (PECS) technique was used to sinter the nanocomposites. Several specimens were annealed after sintering. The microstructure, mechanical properties, critical frontal process zone (FPZ) size, and thermo-mechanical properties of the nanocomposites were estimated. The relative densities of the specimens sintered at 1350 and $1450^{\circ}C$ were 95% and 99%, respectively. The maximum value of the three-point bending strength was found to be 780 MPa for the $2{\times}2{\times}10 mm$ specimen sintered at $1350^{\circ}C$. The fracture toughness of the specimen sintered at $1350^{\circ}C$ was measured to be $3.60 MPa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$ using the single-edge V-notched beam (SEVNB) technique. The fracture mode of the nanocomposites was transgranular, in contrast to the intergranular mode of monolithic alumina. The fracture morphology suggested that dislocations were generated around the silver nanoparticles dispersed within the alumina matrix. The specimens sintered at $1350^{\circ}C$ were annealed at $800^{\circ}C$ for 5 min, following which the maximum fracture strength became 810 MPa and the fracture toughness improved to $4.21 MPam^{1/2}$. The critical FPZ size was the largest for the specimen annealed at $800^{\circ}C$ for 5 min. Thermal conductivity of the alumina/silver nanocomposites sintered at $1350^{\circ}C$ was 38 W/mK at room temperature, which was higher than the value obtained with the law of mixture.

  • 금속알루미늄 조각과 alcohols을 반응시켜 Al-alkoxides를 합성하였으며 이것을 가수분해하여 얻은 Al-hydroxides와 시약 AlCl3로부터 얻은 Al-hydroxides를 여러 온도에서 소성하여 여러 상의 고순도 $Al_2O_3$를 제조하였다. 제조한 ${\gamma}$${\eta}$상 알루미나의 촉매적 특성을 알아보았고, $Al(OH)_3$로부터 ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$의 생성과정을 속도론적으로 고찰하였다.

  • [ $V_{0.9}Sb_{0.1}O_x$ ]systems, bulk and deposited on different supports (five types of ${\gamma}$-aluminas, ${\alpha}$-alumina, silica-alumina, silica gel, magnesium oxide), have been tested in the oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) of iso-butane. This statement is derived from the data obtained by a set of characterisation techniques(specific surface area measurements, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, laser Raman spectroscopy, in situ differential scanning calorimetry and in situ diffuse reflectance-absorption infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy).
