Al-황동의 응력부식균열 특성에 미치는 인가전위의 영향 (Effect of Impressed Potential on the SCC of Al-Brass)

  • In general, the protection method of Shell and Tube Type heat exchanger for a vessel has been applied as a sacrificial anode, which is attached at the inner side of the shell. However, this is an insufficient protection method for tube. Therefore, a more suitable method, such as the impressed current cathodic protection for tube protection, is required. Al-brass is the raw material of tubes for heat exchanger of a vessel where seawater is used for cooling the water. It has a high level of heat conductivity, excellent mechanical properties, and a high level of corrosion resistance, due to a cuprous oxide (Cu$_2$O) layer against th seawater. However, in actuality, it has been reported that Al-brass tubes for heat exchanger of a vessel can produce local corrosion, such as stress corrosion cracking (SCC). This paper studied the effect of impressed potential on the stress corrosion cracking of Al-brass for impressed current cathodic protection in 3.5% NaCl +0.1% NH$_4$OH solution, under flow by a constant displacement tester. Based on the test results, the latent time of SCC, stress corrosion crack propagation, and the dezincification phase of Al-brass are investigated.

Al6063 합금 중공각재 튜브에 의한 프레스 성형 연구 (A Study on the Press Forming by Rectangular Tube of Al6063 Alloys)

  • In this study, a method for the press forming of rectangular aluminium tube has been proposed. Rectangular aluminium tube has high stiff as the cold steel which can be lighter over 30% weight. It is increased every year by being recycled over 80%. Press die consists of punch, wing-die and holder for aluminium tube bending. When punch is applied with aluminium tube, holder is operated as same punch and wing-die is rotated through hinge. Stress-strain relations and springback are considered by bending angle of aluminium tube. In this study, the behaviors on tubes of square aluminium and rectangular aluminium with different thickness and area are established by the analysis of $DEFORM^{TM}$-3D program. Reducing fuel consumption is expected by using the aluminium tube deformation and it becomes the lightweight through recycling.

대 직경 이음매 없는 Ti-6Al-4V 튜브의 $360^{\circ}$ 냉간 굽힘 ($360^{\circ}$ Cold Bending of Ti-6Al-4V Large-Diameter Seamless Tube)

  • $360^{\circ}$ bending of Ti-6Al-4V large-diameter seamless tube(62.37 mm $OD {\times} 4.40mm$ wall thickness) has been achieved at room temperature without heating. The bending process comprised two steps : the first step is $360^{\circ}$ bending by an uniquely designed rotary bender allowing spring back, which is subsequently eliminated by the second or finishing step which comprised repeated bending processes by powered three roll bender, In odor to prevent collapse of tube during bending, Cerro $Tru^{TM}$(Trade name of a non-ferrous low melting point alloy)has been employed as a filler metal. The resultant ovality(out of roundness) obtained was 1.28%, as compared with 6~8% without applying Cerro $Tru^{TM}$.

  • Single phase and condensation heat transfer characteristics of ammonia in a horizontal tube have been investigated experimentally The horizontal test section is composed of smooth SUS316 tube for refrigerant flow, surrounding annulus for water flow, and temperature and Pressure measuring sensors. For single phase test, subcooled ammonia mass flux was varied from 320 to 501 kg/mrs and temperature was varied from 18 to $47^{\circ}C$. For condensation test, mass flux and saturation temperature were varied from 86 to 128 kg/$m^2$s and 34 to $47^{\circ}C$, respectively. The equations of Gnielinski Soliman et al., Traviss et at., Cavallini and Zecchin, Shah, Chen et al., Tandon et al., and Chilli and Anand were compared with the experimental data. New correlations are proposed based on the experimental results and the absolute mean deviation of the experimental data becomes 1.0% for single phase test and 4.9% for condensation test.

  • A new forming method for metal/ other metal two-layer tubes by multi-billet extrusion (MBE) is introduced. The forming possibilities of two-layer tubes CDA 365(inner)/Al 1100(outer) and Al 2014(inner)/Al 1100(outer) by MBE are investigated according to the given frictional condition and die profile. The results show that two-layer tube composed by two types tube as abovementioned can be manufactured by MBE. Some stated variables in the forming process such as effective stress and normalized pressure at welding surface are analyzed by FEM code ($DEFORM^{TM}$-3D)

  • The metal forming behavior and defect formation in Ti-6Al-4V tube during hot backward extrusion were investigated. To predict the forming-defects such as shear band, inner cracks or surface cracks, dynamic material model(DMM) including Ziegler's instability criterion and modified Cockcroft-Latham fracture criterion(C-L model) were used. These models were coupled to the internal variables generated from FE analysis. The chilling effect and friction indicated a great influence on the deformation mode of the tube and the formation of surface cracks. The simulation results for the backward extrusion were compared with the experimental observations.

This approach was coupled to the internal variables generated from FE analysis. The simulation results fur the backward extrusion were compared with the experimental observation. The chilling effect and friction indicated a great influence on the deformation mode of the tube and the formation of surface cracks. The formation of forming defects in the extruded tube was attributed to non-uniform distribution of strain, strain rate and temperatures in the extruded tubes for the given test conditions.

알루미늄 튜브를 이용한 액압성형품 특성연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Aluminum Tube Hydroformed Products)

  • In this study, the characteristics of aluminum tube hydroformed products at different extrusion type and heat treatment conditions were investigated. For the investigation, as-extruded, full annealed and T6-treated Al 6061 tubes at different extrusion type were prepared. To evaluate the hydroformability, free bulge test was performed at room temperature to $300^{\circ}C$. Also mechanical properties of hydroformed products at various pre- and post-heat treatments were estimated by hexagonal prototype hydroforming test at $250^{\circ}C$. And the tensile test specimens were obtained from hexagonal prototype hydroformed tube. As a results, hydroformability of full annealed tube is $5{\sim}8%$ higher than that of extruded and T6-treated tube. The tensile strength and elongation of T6-post heat treated indirect extrusion tube were more than 330MPa and 12%, respectively. However, T6 pre treated hydroformed product represents high strength, 330MPa and low elongation, 8%. Therefore, Hydroformability of Al6061 tube showed similar value for both extrusion types. However flow stress of direct tube showed $20{\sim}50MPa$ lower value than indirect tube.
