There exists strong evidence supporting the co-evolution of central supermassive black holes and their host galaxies; however it is still under debate how such a relation comes about and whether it is relevant for all or only a subset of galaxies. An important mechanism connecting AGN to their host galaxies is AGN feedback, potentially heating up or even expelling gas from galaxies. AGN feedback may hence be responsible for the eventual quenching of star formation and halting of galaxy growth. A rich multi-wavelength dataset ranging from the X-ray regime (Chandra), to far-IR (Herschel), and radio (WSRT) is available for the North Ecliptic Pole field, most notably surveyed by the AKARI infrared space telescope, covering a total area on the sky of 5.4 sq. degrees. We investigate the star-formation properties and possible signatures of radio feedback mechanisms in the host galaxies of 237 radio-AGN below redshift z=2 and at a radio 1.4 GHz flux density limit of 0.1 mJy. Using broadband SED modeling, the nuclear and host galaxy components of these sources are studied simultaneously as a function of their radio luminosity. Here we present results concerning the AGN content of the radio sources in this field, while offering evidence supporting a "maintenance" type of feedback from powerful radio-jets.

The airliners are replacing their old fleet by brand new ones while the air traffic has recovered from the great recession. And the delivery and the backlog get almost highest record still in 2010. The single aisle leads the market and it will show harder competition with more efficient challengers. The recent strong demand of new aircraft reduces MRO and lease market and it makes some worries about the bubble in civil aircraft industry. In the long time forecast, the civil aircraft industry will grow steadily with over 60,000 delivery for 20 years. and the commercial aircraft market will be about 31,000~34,000 of them. And the emerging market will lead the growth.

Euclid is an optical/near-infrared survey mission of the European Space Agency (ESA) to investigate the nature of dark energy, dark matter and gravity by observing the geometry of the Universe and the formation of structures over cosmological timescales. The Euclid spacecraft mechanical architecture comprises the Payload Module (PLM) and the Service Module (SVM) connected by an interface structure designed to maximize thermal and mechanical decoupling. This paper shortly illustrates the mechanical system of the spacecraft and the mechanical verification philosophy which is based on the Structural and Thermal Model (STM), built at flight standard for structure and thermal qualification and the Proto Flight Model (PFM), used to complete the qualification programme. It will be submitted to a proto-flight test approach and it will be suitable for launch and flight operations. Within the overall verification approach crucial mechanical tests have been successfully performed (2018) on the SVM platform and on the sunshield (SSH) subsystem: the SVM platform static test, the SSH structure modal survey test and the SSH sine vibration qualification test. The paper reports the objectives and the main results of these tests.
At present, many countries around the world, as well as Korea, have faced serious social problems due to increased traffic congestion resulting in the social loss. As a result, there is an increasing demand for new transportation which is not exist. This is why many companies around the world are trying to solve this problem with transportation innovation through On Demand Mobility(ODM) which uses Personal Air Vehicle(PAV) that is operated on demand by customer rather than scheduled transportation. This study analyzed the current research trends of the On Demand Mobility projects of National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), UBER, and AIRBUS. Also, this study presents the benefit of adopting this On Demand Mobility systems into Korea. Three commuting routes were set up in the metropolitan area in Korea, and the benefit of using the On Demand Mobility method was compared with the current public transportation and private car.

An aircraft wing or fuselage panel of skin-stringer assembly can fail in a variety of instable modes under compression loads. Instability modes can be buckling of the panel, local buckling of the stringer, flexure, torsion, wrinkle and combined flexural/torsional buckling of the panel assembly. Although researches on these buckling behaviors have been carried out for a long time, there are some difficulties to apply to the practice because of complex theoretical and empirical equations. Accordingly, It is well known that leading aerospace companies are using their own in-house programs for the convenience of practical usage, but our domestic situation is that no such program has been ever developed. In this study a comprehensive program has been developed, which can identify the instability modes and the magnitude of reserve factor of the modes for the skin/stringer panel assembly under compression load. The developed program is based on the theory manual of the Airbus program APA114. For the verification, calculation of the instable reserve factors for the A320 wing panel and A380 low wing panel sections were carried out and compared with results by APA114.
Investigations of the commercial aircraft impact effect on nuclear island infrastructures have been drawing extensive attention, and this paper aims to perform the safety assessment of Generation III nuclear power plant (NPP) buildings subjected to typical commercial aircrafts crash. At present Part I, finite element (FE) models establishment and validations for both the aircrafts and NPP buildings are performed. (i) Airbus A320 and A380 aircrafts are selected as the representative medium and large commercial aircrafts, and the corresponding fine FE models including the skin, beam, fuel and etc. are established. By comparing the numerically derived impact force time-histories with the existing published literatures, the rationality of aircrafts models is verified. (ii) Fine FE model of the Chinese Zhejiang Sanao NPP buildings is established, including the detailed structures and reinforcing arrangement of both the containment and auxiliary buildings. (iii) By numerically reproducing the existing 1/7.5 scaled aircraft model impact tests on steel plate reinforced concrete (SC) panels and assessing the impact process and velocity time-history of aircraft model, as well as the damage and the maximum deflection of SC panels, the applicability of the existing three concrete constitutive models (i.e., K&C, Winfrith and CSC) are evaluated and the superiority of Winfrith model for SC panels under deformable missile impact is verified. The present work can provide beneficial reference for the integral aircraft crash analyses and structural damage assessment in the following two parts of this paper.
Investigations of the commercial aircraft impact effect on nuclear island infrastructures have been drawing extensive attention, and this paper aims to perform the safety assessment of Generation III nuclear power plant (NPP) buildings subjected to typical commercial aircrafts crash. At present Part II, based on the verified finite element (FE) models of aircrafts Airbus A320 and A380, as well as the NPP containment and auxiliary buildings in Part I of this paper, the whole collision process is reproduced numerically by adopting the coupled missile-target interaction approach with the finite element code LS-DYNA. The impact induced damage of NPP plant under four impact locations of containment (cylinder, air intake, conical roof and PCS water tank) and two impact locations of auxiliary buildings (exterior wall and roof of spent fuel pool room) are evaluated. Furthermore, by considering the inner structures in the containment and raft foundation of NPP, the structural vibration analyses are conducted under two impact locations (middle height of cylinder, main control room in the auxiliary buildings). It indicates that, within the discussed scenarios, NPP structures can withstand the impact of both two aircrafts, while the functionality of internal equipment on higher floors will be affected to some extent under impact induced vibrations, and A380 aircraft will cause more serious structural damage and vibrations than A320 aircraft. The present work can provide helpful references to assess the safety of the structures and inner equipment of NPP plant under commercial aircraft impact.
The present paper is a review of the main activities carried out within the context of the COMPTINN' program, a joint research project founded by a FUI program (Fonds $Unifi{\acute{e}}s$$Interminist{\acute{e}}riels$) in which four research teams focused on the thermo-oxidation behaviour of HTS-TACTIX carbon-epoxy composite at 'high' temperatures ($120^{\circ}C-180^{\circ}C$). The scientific aim of the COMPTINN' program was to better identify, with a multi-scale approach, the link between the physico-chemical mechanisms involved in thermo-oxidation phenomena, and to provide theoretical and numerical tools for predicting the mechanical behaviour of aged composite materials including damage onset and development.
In this paper, the structural analysis of the Geostationary Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite-2 (GEO-KOMPSAT-2) tubing system is discussed, and the structural integrity of the tubing system is assessed by comparative analysis with the results of overseas partner AIRBUS. Securing structural reliability of the tubing system is a very important key element of the propulsion system of the GEO-KOMPSAT-2 satellite. Therefore, FE modeling of the propulsion tubing was carried out directly using the CAE program, and structural analysis was performed to evaluate the stress state under launch conditions. Hoop stress, axial stress, bending stress, and torsion stress were calculated according to diverse load conditions by using pressure stress analysis, thruster alignment analysis, sine qualification load analysis, and random qualification load analysis. From the results, the Margin of Safety (MoS) of the tubing system is evaluated, and we can verify the structural integrity of the tubing system when subjected to various launch loads.

Winglets are specialized wingtip devices to reduce induced drag, and they have been installed on Boeing-made aircraft since the 1980s, Airbus has also developed a winglet named 'Sharklet' since 2009 and has started providing them as an option to the A320 Family. The winglet has the effect of improving take-off performance, reducing fuel consumption, increasing payload, and increasing flight distance by reducing the induced drag generated at the tip of the wing. The purpose of this study is to analyze the actual flight data of the sharklet-installed and non-sharklet-installed models of the A321 aircraft to verify the fuel efficiency improvement due to the winglet installation, and to analyze the economic analysis accordingly. Through this, it can be used to determine the winglet installation when introducing an aircraft or to make a decision for upgrading the existing aircraft. To this end, a case study on the aerodynamic characteristics and effects of the winglet installation was conducted, and the economic analysis was verified.
