  • As an improvement in the standard of living and economic growth the demand for air conditioning equipment is increasing rapidly. Nowadays air conditioning equipments are being used for industry large building house and car. Thess equipments was concentrated on improving heat efficiency of economic aspects while they design heat exchanger for cooling and heating,. These air conditioning equipments using heat exchanger cause a discomfort to user due to generating mist at the beginning of operating. Therefore the user demand air of high class and quality. In this experimental study to acquire elementary data for development of heat exchanger which be able to supply air of high quality that is to say possess a restraint effect of mist generation. We estimate an effect on cooling plate kind supply air velocity supply air temperature cooled plate temperature and supply air relative humidity which have an influence on outlet air condition of heat exchanger.

유한요소법에 의한 공기압축기 실린더 헤드의 방열에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Heat Disspation of Air Compressor Cylinder Head by the Finite Elements Method)

  • This study describes the conduction of heat in the discharge head of air compressor. It also gives a base for a finite elements analysis of two dimenional steady -state heat conduction in the cylinder head of air cooled type reciprocating compressor. Using a single cylinder compressor operated at a given speed, tests were made observing outside temperature, final pressure and discharge temperature of air in cylinder head. As a result, the following were obtained : (1) The rate oi heat flow from the inner surface of discharge head to outside wall reach 46. 328 kcal /h at a speed of 796rpm under the constant temperature of inlet air. (2) The compression work of air increase in accordance with temperature rise of inlet air.

극한 환경 시험을 위한 극저온 챔버의 CFD 해석 및 에너지 효율 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the CFD Analysis and Estimation of the Energy Efficiency of Cryogenic Chamber for Extreme Climate Test)

  • There are many types of national and international standards for low temperature tests depending on the products. This study conducted CFD analysis and estimation of the energy efficiency of the chamber both with and without a test object by considering variations of COP and specific volume according to temperature. The supply air was located in the upper area to compare the cooling performance for each location using various outlets in mixed ventilated conditions. For cases without the test object, the air temperature of the upper supply and center extract on the opposite side type chamber cooled faster than other areas by 4.3~29.8%. However, for cases with the test object, the object temperature of the upper supply and lower extract type chamber cooled faster than the other areas by 7.2~31.5%. The cooling efficiency of the air inside the chamber and the test object did not show the same pattern, which indicates the need to consider the cooling performance by not only the air but also the test object in the cryogenic chamber design for testing.

A Study on Effect of Intake Mixture Temperature upon Fuel Economy and Exhaust Emissions in Diesel Engines with a Scrubber EGR System

  • The effects of intake mixture temperature on performance and exhaust emissions under four kinds of engine loads were experimentally investigated by using a four-cycle. four-cylinder. swirl chamber type. water-cooled diesel engine with scrubber EGR system operating at three kinds of engine speeds. The purpose of this study is to develop the scrubber exhaust gas Recirculation (EGR) control system for reducing $\textrm{NO}_{x}$ and soot emissions simultaneously in diesel engines. The EGR system is used to reduce $\textrm{NO}_{x}$ emissions. And a novel diesel soot-removal device of cylinder-type scrubber with five water injection nozzles is specially designed and manufactured to reduce soot contents in the recirculated exhaust gas to the intake system of the engine. The influences of cooled EGR and water injection. however. would be included within those of scrubber EGR system. In order to survey the effects of cooled EGR and moisture on $\textrm{NO}_{x}$ and soot emissions. the intake mixtures of fresh air and recirculated exhaust gas are heated up using a heater with five heating coils equipped in a steel drum. It is found that intake and exhaust oxygen concentrations are decreased, especially at higher loads. as EGR rate and intake mixture temperature are increased at the same conditions of engine speed and load. and that $\textrm{NO}_{x}$ emissions are decreased. while soot emissions are increased owing to the decrease in intake and exhaust oxygen concentrations and the increase in equivalence ratio. Thus ond can conclude that $\textrm{NO}_{x}$ and soot emissions are considerably influenced by the cooled EGR.

소형 공조용 증발기의 특성 해석 (Analysis of Characteristics on Small Air-Conditioning Type Evaporator)

  • When investigating optimum design of the evaporator in the refrigeration and heat pump systems, there is still lack of data for the dynamic characteristics of the evaporator, This is due to the fact that the static characteristics in the evaporator are absolutely difficult to measure and are burdened with uncertainties. In this study, the simulation works for static characteristics in the evaporator of small air conditioner are carried out to obtain the data of dynamic characteristics. In the simulation, the test evaporator is divided by two-phase evaporating region and single-phase heating region. The major parameters are refrigerant flow rate, heat transfer coefficient of air, air velocity and air temperature. The results show that the calculation method for tube length is an easy-to-use to model analysis of static characteristics and to determine state of refrigerant in the evaporator. The effects of the four parameters on the length of evaporating completed point and heat flow rate to the evaporator are clarified.

급배기 위치에 따른 바닥급기 공조시스템의 냉방 열환경 (Thermal Comfort of the Floor Supply Air Conditioning System for Different Supply-return Locations during Cooling)

  • This study numerically investigates thermal comfort in a space cooled by the floor-supply air conditioning system, in which three different supply-return locations, one floor supply-ceiling return and two floor supply-floor returns, are treated. A complementary experiment is peformed to validate the present numerical analysis, and the prediction agrees favorably with the measured data. In the numerical procedure, a simplified model mimicking the inlet flow through the diffuser is developed for efficient simulations. The calculated results show that the ceiling return type is far better in thermal comfort than the floor return ones within the extent of this study, which seems to be caused by effective vertical penetration of the supply air against natural convection. It is also revealed that the arrangement of port locations in the floor supply-floor return system has insignificant effect on the cooling performance. For selecting a proper system, other characteristics including the heating performance should be accounted for simultaneously with the present estimation.
