In this paper, we propose an accuracy analysis method for air-to-ground weapon delivery. The lethality, which is one of the most important factor to evaluate combat effectiveness of a fighter, depends on the capability to improve the accuracy of the conventional weapon delivery. We present error elements which affect the error analysis for air-to-ground weapon delivery from the initial design phase to the final validation phase. And we introduce an accuracy analysis method to reflect the error elements and to evaluate them quantitatively. We assume zero bias-error and consider random error for the weapon delivery accuracy analysis.

In this paper, we suggest a localization method of factors affecting the accuracy of Air-to-Ground weapon delivery. The proposed method, called FBEL(Factor-Based Error Localization), is based on the fault localization technique widely utilized in the realm of software engineering field. FBEL localizes the major factors affecting the performance of weapon delivery. To analyze the effectiveness and the applicability of FBEL, we applied FBEL to real firing data and got the major factors caused the errors. We expect that the method could contribute to improve the quality of weapon delivery system. We also expect that it may aid improvement of pilot capability greatly, if it is applied to pilot firing training.
This paper proposes a model to analyze the fault factors of air-to-ground weapon delivery utilizing software fault localization methods. In the previous study, to figure out the factors to affect the accuracy of air-to-ground weapon delivery, the FBEL (Factor-based Error Localization) method had been proposed and the fault factors were analyzed based on the method. But in the study, the correlation between weapon delivery accuracy and the fault factors could not be revealed because the firing accuracy among several factors was fixed. In this paper we propose a more precise fault analysis model driven through a study of the correlation among the fault factors of weapon delivery, and a method to estimate the possibility of faults with the limited number of test cases utilizing the model. The effectiveness of proposed method is verified through the simulation utilizing real delivery data. and weapons delivery testing in the evaluation of which element affecting the accuracy of analysis that was available to be used successfully.

ADAS is the air defense control system performing air surveillance and identification of ROK and near air. This system is self-developed by Air Force, currently operated successfully as the alternative system of MCRC. ADAS processes converting and combining transferred the real time radar data detected by radars. additionally, it displays significant radar data as producing in tracks. Then, it uses the message queue for IPC(Inter Process Communication). the various tactical data processed in the server is ultimately send to the network management process through the message queue for transmitting to the weapon director console. the weapon director receives this transmitted tactical data through the console to execute air defense operations. However, there is a problem that data packet is delayed or lost since the weapon Director does not receive as the amount of tactical data from the server overflowed with air tracks and missions increased. This paper improved the algorism to display and transmit the various tactical data processed from ADAS server to numbers of the weapon director console in the real time without any delay or lost. Improved the algorism, established at exercise, the development server in the real operation network and the weapon director console, is proved by comparing the number of sending tactical data packets in the server and receiving packets in the weapon director.

In this research, in order to optimize the multi-objective function effectively, we suggested the optimization model to maximize the total destruction of ground targets and minimize the total damage of aircrafts and cost of air munitions by using goal programming. To satisfy the various variables and constraints of this mathematical model, the concept of air strike package is applied. As a consequence, effective attack can be possible by identifying the prior ground targets more quickly. This study can contribute to maximize the ROK air force's combat power and preservation of high value air asset in the war.

This paper presents a study on characteristics of precession motion of a smart munition. It's a kind of the Sensor Fuzed Weapon. The particular thing for the smart munition is that it has precession motion in the air while the sensor is searching the ground to detect ground vehicles such as tanks. The smart munition has a cylindrical shape and has a sensor attached on its side. Due to its non-uniform mass distribution, its center of gravity(CG) is located away from the center of volume(CV). In order for the smart munition to detect the target effectively, the ground searching pattern of sensor should have an uniform circular form, and for this, the precession motion of smart munition should be in its steady-state. Finally, it is necessary to choose the right initial conditions at the moment of firing, for the steady-state precession motion during flight.

Supersonic jet fighter aircraft have several different weapon loading configuration to support air-to-air combat and air-to-ground delivery of weapon modes. Especially, asymmetric loading configurations could result in decreased handling qualities for the pilot maneuvering of the aircraft. The design of the T-50 lateral-directional roll axis control laws change from beta-betadot feedback structure to simple roll rate feedback structure and gains such as F-16 in order to improve roll-off phenomena during pitch maneuver in asymmetric loading configuration. Consequently, it is found that the improved control law decreases the roll-off phenomenon in lateral axes during pitch maneuver, but initial roll response is very fast and wing pitching moment is increased. In this paper, we propose the lateral control law blending between beta-betadot and simple roll rate feedback system in order to decreases the roll-off phenomenon in lateral axes during pitch maneuver without degrading of roll performance.

Through the 2014 Donbas conflict and the 2022 Ukraine-Russia war, we are experiencing that the command of the air is no longer only secured by the Air Force. Long-range surveillance reconnaissance and strikes carried out by the Air Force could be replaced by drones and missiles, and the enemy's aerial attacks could be controlled by air defense systems such as Panchir and portable anti-aircraft missiles, allowing ground forces to carry out maneuvers freely. In other words, it is much more advantageous for the air force and the navy to take control of the air through long-distance operations, and the ground forces should support them. Therefore, this study aims to consider the cost-effectiveness aspect of the delivery command of the air; it provides implications for quickly responding to enemy air attacks by developing the air defense weapon system, drones, missiles, precision-guided munitions, etc rather than focusing on expensive fighter jets.

The private sector is currently reviewing the feasibility of the project or deciding economic policies by analyzing the economic ripple effects. However, the arms acquisition project focuses on the need for the national defense weapons system by analyzing the costs and the effectiveness of the analysis and reviewing the necessity and feasibility of the project. In order to analyze the economic ripple effects, KB (the Bank of Korea) prepares and publishes an analysis table of industrial associations in a given unit. IAAR (the industrial association analysis report) is difficult to apply directly to the defense weapons system. Therefore, research on the economic ripple effects applicable to the defense arms procurement project was needed. In this study, we propose the generic methodology for estimating economical and technical ripple effects resulted in acquiring new weapon systems. Based on the analysis of inter-industrial relations, economical ripple effects are estimated with production inducing effects, value-induced effects, employment-induced effects and export-induced effects. Also, the technological ripple effects are estimated with technological intensity represented by investment cost in research and development. To show the validity of proposed methodology, a case study of acquiring new weapon systems such as GR (guided rocket), destroyer, and helicopter is accomplished. From the case study, it is concluded that these economical & technological ripple effects can be used as a reference to decision making in the course of acquiring major future defense weapons systems.

Flight test data visualization functions can improve an understanding of flight test results, test procedures, and the performance of a flight vehicle after flight tests. FlyingView was developed for researchers to analyse flight test data in a 3D virtual environment. It also can display X-Y plots using flight test data. It was developed and applied to flight tests of an air-to-ground weapon system of ADD. This paper describes the capabilities of FlyingView.
