Surveillance-based Risk Assessment Model between Urban Air Mobility and Obstacles (도심 항공 모빌리티와 장애물 간의 감시장비 기반 충돌 위험도 평가모형)

  • Urban Air Mobility is expected to resolve some problems in urban transportation such as traffic congestion and air pollution. Various studies for a large-scale commercialization of UAM are being actively conducted. To that end, the UAM Traffic Management system aims at securing a safety and an efficiency of UAM operations. In this study, a risk assessment model is proposed to evaluate the risk of collision between a vehicle and surrounding obstacles. The proposed model is conceived from the past studies for determining a proper separation distance between parallel runways for their independent operations. The model calculates the risk that the surveillance system fails to meet a target level of safety for a given buffer zone size between a designed route and surrounding obstacles. The model is applied to one of the routes proposed in K-UAM roadmap to evaluate its performances.

A Novel Adaptive Routing Algorithm for Delay-Sensitive Service in Multihop LEO Satellite Network

  • The Low Earth Orbit satellite network has the unique characteristics of the non-uniform and time-variant traffic load distribution, which often causes severe link congestion and thus results in poor performance for delay-sensitive flows, especially when the network is heavily loaded. To solve this problem, a novel adaptive routing algorithm, referred to as the delay-oriented adaptive routing algorithm (DOAR), is proposed. Different from current reactive schemes, DOAR employs Destination-Sequenced Distance-Vector (DSDV) routing algorithm, which is a proactive scheme. DSDV is extended to a multipath QoS version to generate alternative routes in active with real-time delay metric, which leads to two significant advantages. First, the flows can be timely and accurately detected for route adjustment. Second, it enables fast, flexible, and optimized QoS matching between the alternative routes and adjustment requiring flows and meanwhile avoids delay growth caused by increased hop number and diffused congestion range. In addition, a retrospective route adjustment requesting scheme is designed in DOAR to enlarge the alternative routes set in the severe congestion state in a large area. Simulation result suggests that DOAR performs better than typical adaptive routing algorithms in terms of the throughput and the delay in a variety of traffic intensity.

  • The importance of the air and vessel traffic control center is increasing rapidly after the recent accident of 'Sewol ferry'. Aviation, marine, and the logistics sectors are already using monitoring and control technology widely. However, the monitoring and control system for complex and dangerous construction sites operation has yet to be employed. A monitoring/control system is required for effective communication between the control center and the construction equipment fleet at a construction site, and also the exact role that notifies accurate process and identification of hazards on construction sites as needed. Therefore, this paper presents the study about communication between the construction equipment fleet and the control center through the comparison of air traffic, marine, and logistics control systems for the development of construction equipment fleet management system.

  • According to the recent increase in air traffic more efficient air traffic control automation is required. Aeronautical traffic environment is different from the common traffic environment since it exist controller for control of aircraft And controller have to control jurisdiction hand-off by manual when aircraft move to the other sector. This paper proposes the automatic control jurisdiction hand-off algorithm for efficient air traffic flow management. It is sector distinction algorithm that aircraft move sector to the other sector it recognized sector and then give permission to authorized controller. As a simulation result, so unlilke simply manual control sector hand-off of existing algorithm. we confirmed that proposed algorithm in this paper can do air traffic control more efficiently by performing automatic aircraft. control sector hand-off.

  • ICAO has recommended the introduction of New CNS/ATM based on GNSS technologies and Data link communication to purpose increasing air traffic demand. The CNS/ATM is composed of communication, Navigation, Surveillance and Air Traffic Management. Cockpit Display Traffic Information(CDTI) that is equipment to share air traffic information to Pilot, Traffic Controller and ground vehicles has been built based on Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast(ADS-B) information in Surveillance field. This paper is research that what is the effect between pilot and controller through CDTI. Based on ATC communication between Pilot and Controller, We construct simulation environment and did a comparative analysis of it. according to result, We can verify that CDTI makes aircraft Call sign, Position, Altitude information read rate, and notice of air traffic information between Pilot and Controller more improve than ATC environment and Existing Radar System.

  • Normal Operations Safety Survey (NOSS), a methodology for capturing safety data during normal Air Traffic Control (ATC) operations. The NOSS methodology is based on the Threat and Error Management (TEM) framework, and is a safety management tool to monitor safety during normal aviation operations. Monitoring safety in normal operations is an essential activity within the safety management systems of Air Traffic Services (ATS) providing organizations, and NOSS is proposed as a suitable way to do this. This study, operating in the latter half of the year of 2010 in South Korea on NOSS was the understanding and to apply.

  • Aeronautical frequency band is to be internationally protected for aviation safety. Recently, with a rapid growth of an international air traffic, aeronautical frequency band is getting saturated, and thus may causes the interference in the congested frequency band. In this paper, an efficient aeronautical frequency allotment and management policies are proposed for resolving the existing problems in the aeronautical frequency band. The key activities include the review of the aeronautical frequency management and interference mitigation policies in a few important foreign countries such as United States and Japan. This policy study will be contributed for the future air safety in the aeronautical frequency management point of view.

  • This study proposes a method for utilizing flight and flow - information for a collaborative environment (FF-ICE) for flight plan management based system wide information management (SWIM) technology for the safe and efficient operation of urban air mobility (UAM). SWIM provides a standardized infrastructure for air traffic data, enabling seamless information exchange among various stakeholders. This study purposed flight plan procedures for UAM operation regarding submitting preliminary and filed flight plans, validation and operational evaluation processes, state management, and the roles of each stakeholder. The system developed through the SWIM infrastructure for low-density urban air mobility traffic management. The study are expected to significantly enhance the safety and efficiency of UAM operations through strategic flight plan management methods.

  • This paper proposes a prediction model of air traffic controller's take-off clearance under mixed mode runway operations. The proposed model has its purpose on the better prediction of the air traffic controller's clearance on take-offs of departure aircraft by considering various factors. For this purpose, support vector machine classification algorithm is used for the proposed model. The proposed model is applied to real air traffic operations to demonstrate its performances.

  • 국가 간 무역 활성화로 인하여, 국제 물류의 고도화가 요구되는 현 시점에서 보세창고의 운영 효율성을 제고할 필요성이 커지고 있다. 그러나 현재의 보세창고 프로세스 중 검수 및 장치화물관리 프로세스는 수작업으로 인한 오류발생률이 높아 효율성이 저하되는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이에 대한 해결책으로 보세창고에 RFID 기술을 적용하여 검수작업을 자동화하는 방안을 제시하였다. RIFD 기술 도입은 검수 작업의 효율화뿐만 아니라, 향후 실시간 장치화물관리, 창고 내 Resource 관리 등 창고관리의 제 분야에 활용되어 보세창고관리의 효율성을 제고시킬 것으로 기대된다.
