  • 엔진 시험과정에서 데이터는 시계열 형태로 수집된다. 보통 그러한 시계열들의 섭동보다는 시간평균에 더 관심을 가진다. 본 논문에서는 공기 흡입식 엔진의 시험에서 측정된 압력과 유량 데이터의 섭동에 시계열의 복잡성의 척도로 제안된 개념인 multiscale sample entropy라는 분석법을 적용해본다. 분석 결과, 서로 다른 물리량은 각각의 시간척도에서 다른 복잡성을 가진다는 것을 보였고, 이를 잘 이용하면 엔진 시험의 성패 여부를 즉각적으로 알려주는 도구를 만들 수 있을 것이다.

  • It is important to maintain on operational availability of aircraft during wartime. The KF-16 fighter, the backbone of the ROKAF (Republic Of Korea Air Force), has a single engine. Therefore, the engine has a critical influence on operational availability. The purpose of this study is to estimate optimal levels of spare part inventories concerning both engines and modules. That is provided by linear programming methods utilizing a developed meta-model. For drawing out the meta-model, we develop a simulation model which can consider wartime demands. In the previous study, $2^k$ factorial design method is used to check the influence of each independent variable. That method requires relatively many scenarios because every extreme value combination of independent variables should be checked. However, this study adopts NOLH (Nearly Orthogonal Latin Hypercube) as an experimental design. By adopting NOLH, this study increases not only efficiency but also accuracy. That is proven by comparing the validity of the developed meta-model on both experimental designs. This study also utilizes the OptQuest simulation tool in ARENA to derive the optimal level of spare stocks. By comparing the result of OptQuest to that of the developed meta-model, the validity of this study is secured.

  • The article compares economic and environmental performance of Taipei and Almaty from the point of view of "green" economy, which is able to act as a key tool to ensure sustainable development of the region. As the comparison of the parameters of ecological and economic development of the Taipei and Almaty cities shows, they are similar in population size, but demonstrate completely different trends of sustainable development. Economic performance of the Taipei city is achieved with a decrease in the consumption of natural resources and the production of pollution, while the situation in Almaty is the opposite. Almaty maintains a high level of air pollution due to the use of coal in electricity production, as well as increased traffic and density of construction, including the southern part of the city, which is a zone for the transit of mountain air flows. The article discusses the activities jointly conducted by the Government of Taiwan and non-governmental organizations on environmental issues, as well as environmental NGOs, which resulted in significant improvements in the environmental field. Measures to stimulate the development and implementation of environmental innovations applied in the field of sustainable development in the city of Taipei can be adapted for the city of Almaty, where the environmental situation deteriorates year by year.

티타늄 정밀주조품의 피로수명에 미치는 개재물의 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of Inclusions on the Fatigue Life of Titanium Investment Castings)

  • Inclusions in Ti investment castings are generally known to have detrimental effects on the performance of the castings. However, actual inclusions are infrequent and hard to be located. As a result, it is extremely difficult to obtain sufficient amount of fatigue test specimens of titanium investment castings having inclusions in the gage section. Thus, in-depth research of the adverse influence of inclusions is also hindered. To address this problem, a new casting methodology of specimens containing hard alpha inclusions was developed in this study. To guarantee successful introduction of an inclusion and casting, a carefully designed mold with 8 legs and a special tool were employed. After solidification, castings were cut, and X-ray radiography determined that the inclusions were successfully incorporated into the castings. The castings were further prepared to obtain multiple test specimens and they were fatigue-tested consecutively. Fractography analysis confirmed that fatigue cracks initiated at the hard alpha inclusion. In a nonlinear regression model, the fatigue life can be modeled as an exponential function with a negative exponent of the cross-sectional area of an inclusion. The fatigue life of Ti specimens containing inclusions is inversely proportional to the cross-sectional area of an inclusion.

  • The purpose of this study is to accomplished an in-site evaluation method for existing building insulation status using Infra-red camera and to consider improvement performance to prevent condensation and draw the optimum insulation design method for building using simulation tool. The research contents of this study are to evaluate validity and suitability of building insulation defect survey using Infra-red camera for apartment housing with temperature and heat flow pattern analyze method. Based on this research, the three corners, weak part in condensation, were selected in apartment building and conducted simulation by three-dimensional steady state. From the results, it is required to strengthen insulation design, and it is founded that existing insulation system typically applied to most Korean apartment housings have serious insulation defect that insulation is disconnected by structural components at the joints of wall-slab and wall-wall in envelope. Thus, it is considerate to need a concrete technology improvement.

  • Recently, in accordance with the buildings are rapidly becoming to high-stories, large-sizes, and since the case that noise of equipment machinery, tool itself infringes the life environment is on increasing, this is becoming to the object of civil appeal. Accordingly, in order to set up a countermeasure against such equipment machinery noise, even a systemic evaluating method is required, up to now while the appraisal that considering on the physical characteristic only had been done, but the characteristic about subjective valuation was not reflected as yet. Therefore, in this research, through the 1st, 2nd Psycho-Acoustics Experiments, the 30 vocabularies were extracted for evaluation of the construction equipment noise. As the result of Element Analysis, the 3 Elements were extracted from these vocabularies, and it could be understood that these Elements have been trustfully selected. It is now considering that the extracted vocabularies as per the above result would be used to Psycho-Acoustic Evaluation on Equipment Noise, and Psycho-Acoustics Experiment.

  • The characteristics of a condenser dryer and a vented dryer that are common types of domestic clothes dryers for home use are predicted and compared in an effort to improve the efficiency and to overcome economical and environmental problems due to its inefficient power consumption. In the present study, a drying system is simplified by assuming the mechanism is composed of several elements such as heater and drum and mathematical models using the mass and energy conservation of moisture and air through each element are defined. Based on this mathematical model, the computational tool is developed to predict temperature, humidity and enthalpy of moisture and air in a drum and remained moisture contents (RMC) in drying materials. The computational results are verified by comparing with experimental results from existing studies. In addition, the efficiency of a dryer is calculated using these predicted results for a given condition and the drying characteristics of a condenser dryer and a vented dryer are compared and analyzed.

내장형 모터와 리니어 모터를 적용한 초고속 수평형 머시닝센터의 열 특성 해석 (Thermal Characteristic Analysis of a High-Speed Horizontal Machining Center with Built-in Motor and Linear Motors)

  • This paper presents the thermal characteristic analysis of a high-speed horizontal machining center with spindle speed of 50,000rpm and feedrate of 120m/min. The spindle system is designed based on the built-in motor, angular contact ceramic ball bearings, oil-air lubrication and oil-jacket cooling method. The X-axis and Y-axis feeding systems are composed of the linear motors and linear motion guides, and the Z-axis feeding system is composed of the servo-motor, ball screw and linear motion guides. The thermal characteristics such as the temperature distribution, temperature rise, thermal deformation and step response, are estimated based on the finite element model of machining center and the heat generation rates of heat sources related to the machine operation conditions. Especially, the thermal time constant assessed from the step response function is introduced as an index of thermal response characteristics.

  • HVAC&R systems are the most energy consuming building services, representing approximately half of the final energy use in the building sector. Despite their significant energy use, there is a lack of a consistent and homogeneous framework to efficiently guide research. This research is about the energy consumptions of HVAC&R systems, with the aim of establishing a common idea for the analysis of building energy efficiency. Our approach deals with the concept of an HVAC&R set that is composed of subsystems. A matrix combination evaluation is examined, and a total of 960 sets can be implemented in a large scale office building. A method as a tool for energy evaluations of HVAC&R systems, and HEET as a energy simulation program, were developed.

  • The vibration and buckling characteristics of the capsule for fuel irradiation test are studied. The natural frequencies of the capsule in air and under water are obtained by modal testing and finite element(FE) analysis using ANSYS program, and accelerations with flow are measured to estimate the compatibility with the operation requirement of the HANARO reactor. The experimental fundamental frequency of the capsule in the x and z direction is 8.5Hz and 8.75Hz in air, and 7.5Hz and 7.75Hz under water, respectively. The maximum amplitude of accelerations under the normal operating condition is measured as 11.0m/s$^2$ that is within the allowable vibrational limit(18.99m/s$^2$) of the reactor structure. Also, the maximum displacement at 100% flow is calculated as 0.13mm which is not interference with other nearby structures. FE analysis results show that the natural frequencies are found to be similar to those of the modal testing when three supporting parts are considered as simply supported conditions. From the buckling analysis, when the loading tool is applied, the critical buckling load of the capsule is 233N.
