The fundamental experiments for measuring soft x-ray characteristics from the vacuum capillary are described. These experiments were primarily performed in order to generate line spectra such as x-ray lasers. The generator consists of a high-voltage power supply, a polarity-inversion ignitron pulse generator, a turbo-molecular pump, and a radiation tube with a capillary. A high-voltage condenser of 200 nF in the pulse generator is charged up to 20 kV by the power supply, and the electric charges in the condenser are discharged to the capillary in the tube after closing the ignitron. During the discharge, weakly ionized plasma forms on the inner and outer sides of a capillary. In the present work, the pump evacuates air from the tube with a pressure of about 1 mPa, and a demountable capillary was developed in order to measure x-ray spectra according to changes in the capillary length. In this capillary, the anode (target) and cathode elements can be changed corresponding to the objectives. The capillary diameter is 2.0 mm, and the length is adjusted from 1 to 50 mm. When a capillary with aluminum anode and cathode electrodes was employed, both the cathode voltage and the discharge current almost displayed damped oscillations. The peak values of the voltage and current increased when the charging voltage was increased, and their maximum values were -10.8 kV and 4.7 kA, respectively. The x-ray durations observed by a 1.6 ${\mu}$m aluminum filter were less than 30 ${\mu}$s, and we detected the aluminum characteristic x-ray intensity using a 6.8 ${\mu}$m aluminum filter. In the spectrum measurement, two sets of aluminum and titanium electrodes were employed, and we observed multi-line spectra. The line photon energies seldom varied according to changes in the condenser charging voltage and to changes in the electrode element. In the case where the titanium electrode was employed, the line number decreased with corresponding decreases in the capillary length. Compared with incoherent visible light, these rays from the capillary were diffracted and diffused greatly after passing through two slits.

The series of solid solutions in the $Sr_{1+x}Ho_{1-x}FeO_{4-y}$ (x = 0.00, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75 and 1.00) systems with $K_2NiF_4$ type structure have been prepared at 1550$^{\circ}$C under an atmospheric air pressure. The X-ray powder diffraction spectra of these samples assign that the crystallographic phases are tetragonal system over the whole x range. The lattice volume was increased with increasing the substitution amount of the $Sr^{2+}$ ion. The mole ratio of the $Fe^{4+}$ ion to total iron ions or ${\tau}$ value has been determined by Mohr salt titration of the sample and then the y value was calculated from x and ${\tau}$ values. The ${\tau}$ and y values have been increased with x values. The nonstoichiometric chemical formula are formulated from the general formula of $Sr_{1+x}Ho_{1-x}Fe^3_{1-}\;^+_{\tau}Fe_{\tau}^{4+}O_{4-y}$ replaced by x,${\tau}$ and y values. Mossbauer spectra show the mixed valence state and coordination state of $Fe^{3+}\;and\;Fe^{4+}$ ions. It is found out that the magnetic property of the samples is paramagnetic at room temperature. Electrical conductivity varied within the semiconductivity range of 1.0 to 1 ${\times}\;10^{-9}{\Omega}^{-1}cm^{-1}$. Activation energy of the electrical conductivity was decreased with the $\tau$ value. The conduction mechanism should be explained by the hopping model of the conduction electrons between the valence states of $Fe^{3+}\;and\;Fe^{4+}$ ions.

We propose a marine observation system using existing light buoys to observe various marine information of marine locations. Our proposed ocean observation system is composed of the existing standard light buoy type and can be easily connected to the light buoy. The proposed marine observation system measures the mean wave height, maximum wave height, mean wave height and water temperature measured in the ocean. Besides, it can measure the air pressure, temperature, wind speed and wind speed in real time. In order to measure important peaks in marine observations, 2200 peak data are collected for 10 minutes, and the collected data are subjected to spectral analysis to extract significant wave and wave period data. The developed system removes the noise by using the filter because the marine observation system attaches to the light buoy. We compare and analyze the measurement data of the existing proven floating marine observation system and the standard equivalent system developed. Also, it is proved that the data of the standard type backbone ocean observation system developed through the comparative experiment is similar to that of the existing ocean observation system.

The South China Sea (SCS) is a typical marginal sea characterized with the deep basin, shelf break, shallow shelf, many straits, and complex bathymetry. This study investigated the tidal characteristics and propagation, and reproduced typhoon-induced storm surge in this region using the regional real-time tide-surge model, which was based on the unstructured grid, resolving in detail the region of interest and forced by tide at the open boundary and by wind and air pressure at the surface. Typhoon Haiyan, which occurred in 2013 and caused great damage in the Philippines, was chosen as a case study to simulate typhoon's impact. Amplitudes and phases of four major constituents were reproduced reasonably in general, and the tidal distributions of four constituents were similar to the previous studies. The modelled tide seemed to be within the acceptable levels, considering it was difficult to reproduce the tide in this region based on the previous studies. The free oscillation experiment results described well the feature of tide that the diurnal tide is prevailing in the SCS. The tidal residual current and total energy dissipation were discussed to understand the tidal and sedimentary environments. The storm-surge caused by typhoon Haiyan was reasonably simulated using this modeling system. This study established the regional real-time barotropic tide/water level prediction system for the South China Sea including the seas around the Philippines through the validation of the model and the understanding of tidal characteristics.

This study investigates the effect of denitrified biofloc water on changes in the water quality parameters and the physiological characteristics of shrimps. Biofloc rearing water contains a large number of microorganisms and can rapidly stabilize the water quality and energy saving if reusable due to high water temperatures. Rearing water contain floating bacteria with both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Therefore, when the carbon source is added in limited air supply, the anaerobic state is activated and the denitrification process is possible. In this study, the denitrification water had the following properties: ammonia (6.9 mg L-1), nitrite (0.3 mg L-1), nitrate concentration (9.2 mg L-1), high pH (8.42) and alkalinity (590 mg L-1). The experimental group consisted of seawater (SW, control), a mixture of Seawater and denitrified biofloc water (DNW) in the ratio of 3:1, 1:1 and DNW only. All experiments were done in triplicate. As a result, the survival rate never changed even when 100% of the denitrification water was utilized. However, a body fluid analysis showed that creatine and BUN were increased due to index of stress and the tissue damage resulting from the high denitrified water content. Body fluid ions (Na+, K+, and Cl-) significantly decreased as the denitrified water content increased. It was recommended that the denitrification water be mixed with a certain ratio (less than 50%) in the future as it may affect the osmotic pressure control in shrimps.

[ $Henoch-Sch\ddot{o}nlein$ ] Purpura(HSP) is a form of vasculitis that typically affects small arteries in the skin, joints, intestinal tract and kidneys. It usually resolves spontaneously but sometimes can cause serious problems in the kidneys and intestinal tract. A 6-year-old girl with purpura, arthralgia and abdominal pain for 2 weeks was admitted. She also showed gross hematuria, generalized edema and decreased urine output. Blood pressure was in the upper normal range. Initial laboratory findings showed hypoalbuminemia, hyperlipidemia, microhematuria and nephrotic-range proteinuria(27.2 g/day). Initially, she was treated with pulse methylprednisolone, azathioprine, albumin and furosemide. Her renal biopsy revealed diffuse mesangial proliferation with strong IgA deposition. There were no crescents. On the third hospital day, she complained of severe abdominal pain and free peritoneal air was seen on abdominal X-ray. Primary repair of small bowel was performed and two pin-point sized holes were found. One week later, she still showed heavy proteinuria. Therefore, we added an ACE inhibitor and dipyridamole, and changed azathioprine to cyclosporine. One month later, the urine protein/creatinine ratio was decreased to 17.8 from 57, but heavy proteinuria has been still persisted. Here we report a rare case of a patient with HSP who had both severe nephrritc-nephrotic syndrome and small bowel perforation.
In local underground mines heavily depending on the natural ventilation, ducted fan auxiliary ventilation system is strongly recommended instead of the total mine ventilation system requiring large capital and operating costs. Optimizing the installation of ducted fans in series in long large-opening mines is required to assure the economy and efficiency of the ventilation system. The two most critical design parameters for optimization are the wall separation distance and gap length between adjoining ducts. This study aims at deriving the optimal values for those two parameters concerning the economic and environmental aspects through the extensive CFD analysis, which minimizes pressure loss, leakage and entrainment of the contaminated air in the gap space. The ranges of the wall separation distance and gap length for study are selected by taking into consideration the existing recommendations and guidelines. The ultimate goal is to optimize the auxiliary ventilation system using ducted fans in series to provide a reliable and efficient solution to maintain clean and safe workplace environment in local long underground mines.
The aims of this research is to develop a fire resistant admixture to enhance high-pressured pumping of high-strength concrete (HSC) with a compressive strength of 60~80 MPa. Generally, the efficiency of HSC high-pressured pumping is dramatically reduced due to entanglement of short fibers added to prevent fire spalling. Therefore, the fire resistant admixture that can facilitate pumping of fire resistant HSC is urgently needed presently. The fire resistant HSC mix is comprised of Polypropylene fiber, Nylon fiber and Polymer powder. The test results showed that the slump-flow was improved by approximately 70% of the HSC without fire resistant admixture. However, the air void content was increased slightly due to the addition. The standard design compressive strength at 28-days was satisfied, while its flexural strength was similar to the concrete without the admixture. Since the flexural strength was 12~15% of its compressive strength, the general trend of flexural to compressive strength ratio in normal concrete was maintained. Even though its elastic modulus was decreased by adding the admixture, the study results showed that the concrete can be used for construction since all of the test results exceeded the code requirements.
Actual evapotranspiration (AET) in the Suyeong-gu was estimated and correlations between AET and meteorological factors were analyzed. The study area was Suyeong-gu lay at the east longitude $129^{\circ}$ 05' 40" ~ 129$^{\circ}$ 08' 08" and north latitude $35^{\circ}$ 07' 59" ~ $35^{\circ}$ 11' 01". The Kumryun mountain, the Bae mountain, the Suyeong river and the Suyeong bay are located on west, north, northeaster and south side in the study area, respectively. AET was estimated using precipitation (P), potential evapotranspiration (PET) and plant-available water coefficient. Meteorological factors to estimate PET were air temperature, dewpoint temperature, atmospheric pressure, duration of sunshine and mean wind speed (MWS). PET and AET were estimated by a method of Allen et al. (1998) and Zhang et al. (2001), respectively. PET was the highest value (564.45 mm/yr) in 2002 year, while it was the lowest value (449.95 mm/yr) in 2003 year. AET was estimated highest value (554.14 mm/yr) in 2002 year and lowest value (427.91 mm/yr) in 2003 year. Variations of PET and AET were similar. The linear regression function of AET as PET using monthly data was AET=0.87$\times$PET+3.52 and coefficient of determination was high, 0.75. In order to analyze relationship between the evapotranspiration and meteorological factors, correlation analysis using monthly data were accomplished. Correlation coefficient of AET-PET was 0.96 high, but they of AET-P and PET-P were very low. Correlation coefficients of AET-MWS and PET-MWS were 0.67 and 0.73, respectively. Thus, correlation between evapotranspiration and MWS was the highest among meteorological factors in Suyong-gu. This means that meteorological factor to powerfully effect for the variation of evapotranspiration was MWS. The linear regression function of AET as MWS was AET=84.73$\times$MWS+223.05 and coefficient of determination was 0.54. The linear regression function of PET as MWS was PET=83.83$\times$MWS+203.62 and coefficient of determination was 0.45.
The quantity of noxious wastes generated by the growth in industrialization and population in all over the world and its potential hazards in subsurface environments are becoming increasingly significant. The extraction of the contaminant from the soil and movement of the water are restricted due to the low permeability and adsorption characteristics of the reclaimed soils. Incorporated technique with PVDs have been used for dewatering from fine-grained soils for the purpose of ground improvement by means of soil flushing and soil vapor extraction systems. This paper is to evaluate several key parameters that affected to the performance of the PVDs specifically with regard to: well resistance of PVD, zone of influence, and smear effects. In the feasibility of contaminant remediation was evaluated in pilot-scale laboratory experiments. Well resistance is affected on the vertical discharge capacity of the PVDs under the various vacuum pressures. The discharge capacity increases consistently in areal extents with higher applied vacuum up to a limiting vacuum pressure. The head values for each piezometer at different vacuum pressures show that the largest head loss occurs within 14 cm of the PVD. Air flow rates and head losses were measured for the PVD placed in the model test box and the gas permeability of the silty soils was calculated. Increasing the equivalent diameter results in a decrease in the calculated gas permeability. It is concluded that the gas permeability determined over the 1,500 to 2,000 $cm^3/s$ flow rates are the most accurate values which yields gas permeability of about 3.152 Darcy.
