A Study on the Analysis of Internal Power Loss Including Leakage Inductance of Power Transformer for DAB Converter (DAB 컨버터용 전력 변압기의 누설 인덕턴스를 포함한 내부 전력 손실 분석에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, a power loss analysis technique of a high-frequency transformer of a bidirectional DAB (Dual Active Bridge) converter is reported. To miniaturize the transformer of the dual active bridge converter, a resonant inductor was designed with an air gap included low-coupled rate state core to combine leakage inductor with the resonant inductor which is required for soft-switching. In this paper, leakage inductance and magnetizing inductance, core material, type of winding and winding method are included in the dual active bridge transformer loss analysis process to enable optimal design at the initial design stage. Transformer loss analysis for dual active bridge with a switching frequency of 200 kHz and maximum output of 5 kW was executed, and elements necessary for design based on the number of turns on the primary side were graphed while maintaining the transformer turns ratio and window area. In particular, it was possible to determine the optimal number of turns and thickness of the transformer, and ultimately, the total loss of the transformer could be estimated.

  • A down-scaled simulator is developed to simulate typical faults in induction motor such as short-turn stator winding, broken rotor bar, dynamic and static air-gap eccentricity, bearing trouble, and mechanical unbalance. The simulator is used as an initial builder to develop design algorithm for real-time faults detecting system by processing an abnormal signal and characteristics in each fault.

  • The thrust control characteristics of single-sided linear induction motor (SLIM) is achieved using PI controller in this paper. The trembling of air gap length between the primary winding and the secondary structure of the SLIM must be minimized in order to get quick response results. Also, the input voltage of SLIM is involved with the time harmonics because most SLIM is driven by inverter. According to the feedback linear control system, this paper describes with applying the non-linear control, speed and estimated flux algorithm. At the result of this experiment, we reached to the improvement of thrust characteristics with PI controller.

  • This paper describes an approach to design a interior permanent magnet motor(IPM motor) for the reduction of cogging torque. The magnitude of the torque ripple and cogging torque in a interior permanent magnet motor(IPM motor) are generally dependent on several major factors: the shape of stator tooth tip, slot opening width, air gap length, the shape of barrier preventing flux leakage of magnets, magnet configuration and magnetization distribution or magnet poles. In this paper, the IPM BLDC motor is designed considering a saturated leakag flux between the barriers on the rotor for increasing the efficiency and decreasing the magnitude of the cogging torque. Analytical model is developed for the IPM BLDC motor with a concentrated winding stator. The results verifies that the proposed design approach is very efficient and effective in reducing the cogging torque and the torque ripple of the IPM BLDC motor to be used in an electric vehicle.

  • Because linear motor directly drives linear motion, it does not need conversion equipment such as belt and gear. Especially linear pulse motor provide more precise positioning and large force of linear pulse motors. As current manufacture technic of linear pulse motor is much to be desired at home. This motor lay out to make use of computer aided design program, In this paper the experimental motor is 2-phases 4-poles hybrid pulse motor which has teeth per pole Simulation program is divided its function into 4 parts - air gap permeance analysis, permanent magnet & non-linear core operating point determine, winding configuration, leakage flux analysis. It is possible to make motor static and magnetic characteristics for this simulation program. Also, by varying input parameters of the program, experimental motor is to be compared to motor characteristics.

  • Generally, the Doubly Salient Machine such as Switched Reluctance Motor doesn't have Permanent Magnet, it sometimes adopts permanent magnet or DC filed winding for high efficiency or adjustable speed control. In this paper, adjustable speed range is compared for Doubly Salient Permanent Magnet Machine (DSPM), Brushless Doubly Fed Doubly Salient Machine (BDFDS) and Hybrid Excited Doubly Salient Machine (HEDS). Especially, air-gap flux density to the DC field current is shown and the operating speed as the field-weakening is estimated.

  • In this paper, the thrust control of PWM Inverter-Fed SLIM(Single-sided Linear Induction Motor) is achieved with Space Vector control and PI control. The trembling of air gap length which is occurred between the primary winding core and the secondary structure of the SLIM must be minimized in order to get quick response characteristics. First, the equivalent circuits and voltage equations of SLIM are shown on th suitable d-q axis which analyze characteristics of the thrust and the normal force. Also, modeling and analysis of the equivalent circuits transferred d-q axis are able to make robust transient torque from the current regulation in the equivalent circuit. These results exemplified the direct drive of SLIM with the reference speed and torque were verified by experiments.

  • The development of modern high-energy magnet materials has allowed the replacement of field coils in many different types of electromagnetic energy conversion machines. As well, the linear synchronous motor has recently been proposed for linear motion with high efficiency and thrust. Thus, this paper presents an analytical solution for the high thrust and cost reduction of the Iron-Cored Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor (PMLSM) considering magnetization arrays and geometry. Hence, the superior utilization points in each of the magnetization arrays are provided by the height ratio of the magnet/air-gap and magnet/winding coil, etc. In formulation, the space harmonic method in analytical solutions and the generalized 2-D tensor finite element analysis can be used to evaluate force components in magneto static devices including the magnetostrictive phenomenon.

  • This paper presents leakage magnetic field and leakage inductance calculations in current transformer by means of 3-D Integral methods. From the distribution diagram of leakage magnetic flux to be analyzed using program called TRACAL3, it confirms a parallel to the winding axis direction of the leakage flux lines in the air gap between the windings. The leakage inductances L$\sub$r1/ and L$\sub$R2/ of the primary and secondary windings were calculated, their values are 4.23 mH and 0.49 mH, respectively. They are also similar to the measured values of the leakage inductances for the experimental verification, 4.06 mH and 0.47 mH.

  • The object of this paper is to try to develope Tulular Liner Induction Motor which consists of primary stator that generates traveling magnetic field from the three-phase winding of formed-wound concentric coil, and try to identify the characteristics of starting force. To indentify the theoretical starting force formular we have quoted the conventional Maxwell's basic equation and Poisson's equation which are used in the general machines thereby having obtained the formular of the current with in the conductor and of the air gap magnetic field respectively. General starting force formular is acquired by applying the formular of the current and magnetic field which was theoretically derived above. To this theoretically starting force formula various constants and the values of magnetic flux density resulting from the experimental motor are applied to present theoretically calculated values. Comparing these theoretically caculated values experimentally weighed values, we have proved the validity of theoretical research.
