A recommendation system tracks past action of a group of users to make a recommendation to individual members of the group. The computer-mediated marking and commerce have grown rapidly nowadays so the concerns about various recommendation procedure are increasing. We introduce a recommendation methodology by which Korean department store suggests products and services to their customers. The suggested methodology is based on decision tree, product taxonomy, and association rule mining. Decision tree is to select target customers, who have high purchase possibility of recommended products. Product taxonomy and association rule mining are used to select proper products. The validity of our recommendation methodology is discussed with the analysis of a real Korean department store.

Dichloromethane, ethanol, and boiling water extracts of the brown alga Ecklonia cava were examined in vivo for their antipyretic, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory activities in mice. These activities were evaluated by yeast-induced pyrexia, tail-flick test, and phorbol myristate acetate-induced inflammation (edema, erythema, and blood flow). Ethanol extract of E. cava (0.4 mg/ear) inhibited the inflammatory symptoms of mouse ear edema, erythema, and blood flow by 82.6%, 69.0%, and 65.4%, respectively. This extract also demonstrated potent analgesic activity. No acute toxicity was observed after p.o. administration of each extract (5 g/kg bw). These in vivo data are in agreement with the claims of the health care industry and indigenous medicine that E. cava is an effective remedy for inflammation-related symptoms.

This study aims to suggest the alternative policies and practices which policy makers can introduce and enlarge for work-family balance of employees. For purpose, this study analyzed the regulation of work time and parental leave benefits of employees. And the results of major projects in family friendly support services were examined. Based on these assessment, this study suggested various flexible work arrangements, papa's quota system in parental leaves, various family leaves for family care, establishment of FFSC in every metropolitan area, diversification of consulting project, and enlarging of certification project on family friendly workplace.

Several series of compounds (benzoic acids, pyrazolecarboxylic acids, phenoxyacetic acids, and quinolinoxyacetic acids) were prepared and evaluated for their inhibitory activity against PTP-1B. Several compounds showed submicromolar inhibitory activity.

In this paper, a video tracker with a TMS320C31 DSP is designed and implemented. It is intended to work with PC through PCI Bus and can be used in real-time applications. The DSP board is capable of grabbing image data from camera, and calculating the position of a target, and trackig its movement. The tracking situation can be displayed in a monitor and displacement of the movement is fed back to pan and tilt the camera. Experimental results show that the tracker implemented here works well in real applications.

This paper presents an analytical approach to the magnetic field and the inductances of slotless permanent magnet machines with two types of winding. On the basis of a magnetic vector potential and a two-dimensional polar system, analytical solutions for flux density due to a permanent magnet and current are obtained. In addition, self and mutual inductances are obtained using the energy relationship. The analytical results are extensively validated by the nonlinear finite element method and by experimental results.

This work proposes a simple method to use the added absorption per person values to predict the expected values of the acoustical conditions in occupied classrooms. This method is based on the effects of the values of added absorption per person on the unoccupied total absorption values of the classrooms and on other room acoustical parameters. The total sound absorption in an unoccupied classroom can be calculated from measured reverberation times in the classroom. The expected occupied absorption can be calculated using equation which was obtained in a previous study (Choi, 2017) by fitting a linear regression line to a plot of total occupied absorption versus the corresponding unoccupied total absorption values measured in 12 university classrooms. The ratios of occupied-to-unoccupied sound absorption are used to predict increments in the values of acoustical parameters that result when occupants are added to the rooms.

Potentiometric sensors are important and viable devices for use in pharmaceutical analysis. liquid polymeric membrane electrodes for many basic drugs and a few acidic drug were reported. The acidic drug-metal(Ⅱ)-triethylene tetramine ion pair complexes were prepared and used in poly(vinyl chloride) membrane electrodes to analyze anionic drugs such as mefenamic acid and ibuprofen. Metal ion used were Fe2＋. Co2＋. Ni2＋ and Cu2＋. Plasticizer used was o-nitrophenyl octyl ether.. (omitted)
