A single specimen of the family Agonidae was collected from the coastal waters of the East Sea, Korea. It was identified as Hypsagonus corniger Taranetz by having the first dorsal fin with seven spines, long supraoccipital spine, sharp spines of body plate, no process on the supralateral bony plates, the broader distance between the first and the second dorsal fins than base of the second dorsal fin, and longer second spine of the first dorsal fin than the first spine. A key to the genus Hypsagonus from Korea is provided. We propose a new Korean name, "Ga-si-jul-go-gi" for the species.

Six specimens (151.4~171.2 mm in standard length) of the poacher Aspidophoroides monopterygius were collected by Danish seine net in the coastal waters off Samcheok and Gangneung, the East Sea, Korea. This species is characterized by a slender body, one dorsal fin, terminal mouth, no barbel on the head, and a pair of nasal spines on the snout. It differs from Anoplagonus occidentalis Lindberg in having a nasal spine. We describe it as the first record within the Korean fish fauna, and propose the new Korean name "Ak-eo-jul-go-gi" for this species.

Eight species of the suborder Cottoidei collected from coastal waters of Korea were described with photographs, all of which are newly known to Korea. They are as followsi Molacocottus zonurus Bean and Euwmen gvrinus Gilbert et Burke of the family Psvchrolutidae; Podothecus veternus Jordan et Starts, Sarritor loptorhvnchus (Gilberts, and Agonomulus proboscinalis Walenciennesl of the family Agonidae; Liporis ogussizii Putman, Lipuris megocephalus Burke, and Liparis choonus Wu et Wang of the Family Cvclopteridae.
