  • Bake hardenable steel utilizes the phenomenon of strain aging to provide an increase in the yield strength of formed components. An increase of the carbon content will improve the bake hardening response: more solutes are available to pin mobile dislocations and to form the clusters more rapidly. But aging resistance decrease as increasing solute carbon. In order to under-stand the compatibility between bake hardenability and aging resistance. The optimum solute carbon control methods during manufacture should be determined. In this paper, the effect of continuous heat cycle conditions such as soaking temperature, rapid cooling start temperature, cooling rate on BH(Bake Hardenability), AI(Aging Index), YP-El(Yield Point Elongation) and other mechanical properties have been investigated. and following results were obtained. In the case of soaking temperature, BH increases with higher soaking temperature because of NbC $dissolution(830^{\circ}C)$, Therefore the solute carbon and BH at $850^{\circ}C$ and $870^{\circ}C$ are higher than these at $810^{\circ}C$. But BH at $870^{\circ}C$ is a little lower than that at $850^{\circ}C$ owing to the ferrite grain size. The measurement of amount of dissolution C using IFT(Internal Friction Test) can explain the relation of solute carbon and BH.

  • This study examines cultural differneces in psychosocial maturity experiences between collectivistic and individualistic cultures. Personal, relational, and social dimensions were assessed to explore psychosocial maturity experience of elderly Korean residents in Korea and Canada who were psychosocially well developed through in-depth interviews and a content analysis. According to the results, there were diverse similarities and differences in the psychosocial maturity of elderly Korean residents between the two cultures. First, psychosocially mature elderly residents in both cultures showed positive self-concept and self-satisfaction. However, there were differences in their meaning. Second, in terms of interpersonal relations, the most important and satisfying relationship was the spousal relationship for both cultures, and relationships with children were satisfying. However, there were differences in the meaning of relationships between the two cultures as well as gender differences. Third, psychosocially mature elderly residents in both cultures reported psychosocial factors such as mature aging as a social dimension. Elderly residents in Korea regarded mature aging as a relationship oriented phenomenon, whereas those in Canada reported social attitudes toward mature aging. In addition, elderly residents in both cultures reported greed and harm to others as immature aging. Elderly residents in Korea regarded relational discord as immature aging, whereas those in Canada regarded it as demanding adult treatment from future generation. In terms of transcendence, adjustment was reported as living by going with the flow. Elderly residents in Korea reported adjustment based on fatalism, whereas those in Canada showed some religious meaning. Finally, psychosocially mature elderly residents showed a positive view, acceptance and life integration. These results are discussed from the perspective of cultural differences.

  • In recent decades, the field of aging research has progressed from the genetic and cellular levels to in vivo models of blood exchange. Since genes capable of extending the lifespan in C. elegance have been reported, various potential target molecules have been discovered through genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and transcriptomics. Accordingly, research on the interactions between target molecules has also been increasing. The parabiosis method, in which two experimental animals are surgically combined, was introduced, and a factor that could reverse the aging phenomenon was discovered using this method. The parabiosis method is used to find more accurate and effective aging-reversal factors that could exist in young blood. As more new evidence has been revealed, the parabiosis method has established a new paradigm for aging research. Moreover, a device capable of exchanging blood elaborately in laboratory animals was published in 2022 and presented new results necessary for aging reversal. Since GDF11, was reported, many other anti-aging candidates that are soluble factors in blood, such as β2m, TIMP2, VCAM1, Gpld1, and clusterin, have been discovered. In addition, mcicroglia cells and neuroinflammation have been directly proven to be aging factors. These latest research results were obtained by parabiosis, the newly designed device for plasmapheresis, and injecting young blood or conditioned blood methods. In this review, we discuss the latest research results using the device and young blood administration in old mice.

  • The urban heat island phenomenon that accelerates global warming has always been controversial when summer heatwaves have occurred since it was first investigated and described by Luke Howard in the 1810s. In Korea, since 2014, government have been interested in Cool Roof and painted white coating on the rooftops of the aging and weak buildings, and the cool roof business has expanded nationwide. However, the roof occupies 20-25% of the entire city surface, much less than 37-45% of the pavement area consisting of roads, parking lots and sidewalks, there is a need to expand the policy of Cool Pavement as a way to reduce the urban heat island phenomenon. Domestic cities are high-rise buildings centered on apartments, and the area occupied by outer walls is larger than that of rooftops compared to foreign low-rise buildings. Therefore, as a way to reduce the urban heat island phenomenon, there is a need for a policy to expand the Cool Roof in buildings and use Cool Wall in parallel. Therefore, this study aims to present the expansion of Cool Wall in buildings and Cool Pavement in urban areas, expanding the installation range of Cool Roof, by comparing and reviewing the thermal characteristics of eco-friendly ceramic coating with excellent thermal proof performance and coatings used for roof waterproofing.

  • STATEMENT OF PROBLEM. Recently Yttrium-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystal (Y-TZP) has been introduced due to superior flexural strength and fracture toughness compared to other dental ceramic systems. Although zirconia has outstanding mechanical properties, the phenomenon of decrease in the life-time of zirconia resulted from degradation in flexural strength after low temperature aging has been reported. PURPOSE. The objective of this study was to investigate degradation of flexural strength of Y-TZP ceramics after various low temperature aging treatments and to evaluate the phase stability and micro-structural change after aging by using X-ray diffraction analysis and a scanning electron microscope (SEM). MATERIAL AND METHODS. Y-TZP blocks of Vita In-Ceram YZ (Vita Zahnfabrik, Bad $S\ddot{a}ckingen$, Germany) were prepared in 40 mm (length) $\times$ 4 mm (width) $\times$ 3 mm (height) samples. Specimens were artificially aged in distilled water by heat-treatment at a temperature of 75, 100, 125, 150, 175, 200, and $225^{\circ}C$ for 10 hours, in order to induce the phase transformation at the surface. To measure the mechanical property, the specimens were subjected to a four-point bending test using a universal testing machine (Instron model 3365; Instron, Canton, Mass, USA). In addition, X-ray diffraction analysis (DMAX 2500; Rigaku, Tokyo, Japan) and SEM (Hitachi s4700; Jeol Ltd, Tokyo, Japan) were performed to estimate the phase transformation. The statistical analysis was done using SAS 9.1.3 (SAS institute, USA). The flexural strength data of the experimental groups were analyzed by one-way analysis of variance and to detect statistically significant differences ($\alpha$= .05). RESULTS. The mean flexural strength of sintered Vita In-Ceram YZ without autoclaving was 798 MPa. When applied aging temperature at below $125^{\circ}C$ for 10 hours, the flexural strength of Vita In-Ceram YZ increased up to 1,161 MPa. However, at above $150^{\circ}C$, the flexural strength started to decrease. Although low temperature aging caused the tetragonal-to-monoclinic phase transformation related to temperature, the minimum flexural strength was above 700 MPa. CONCLUSION. The monoclinic phase started to appear after aging treatment above $100^{\circ}C$. With the higher aging temperature, the fraction of monoclinic phase increased. The ratio of monoclinic/tetragonal + monoclinic phase reached a plateau value, circa 75% above $175^{\circ}C$. The point of monoclinic concentration at which the flexural strength begins to decrease was between 12% and 54%.

  • Declining research competitiveness and inefficiency are constantly being raised in the National Assembly and the media for the Government-funded Research Institutes(GFRIs), which are highly dependent on government funding. These external stakeholders point to the workforce aging of the GFRIs as one of the main causes of inefficiency. They insist that the aging leads to an increase in labor costs, a discontinuity in research, a decrease in employment of new researchers, and a decrease in research competitiveness. However, the GFRIs argue that the aging is a natural phenomenon due to an increase in the age of recruitment, and even if there is an side effect, it is extremely small or even vice versa. It is interesting that there is no empirical study identifying the correlation between the workforce aging and the research performance of the GFRIs, despite the discussion. This study tracked and analyzed the changes of the research performance and the workforce for the five years from 2011 to 2015, and tried to demonstrate the correlation between the workforce aging and the research performance. As a result, we confirmed that there is an inverted U-type correlation between the aging and the papers, one of the research performance, and that the optimal age is 44.96 years. Also, we could not find any correlation between the aging and the patents.

  • The Study aims at carrying out basic research on the future housing culture plan by the aging and low fertility phenomenon which is the most serious problem that Korean society faces today. In the future, the housing culture will be transformed into a 'convergence housing complex's residential culture' that can be coexisted with households with various members, rather than a housing type represented by apartments today, due to the phenomenon of nuclear family and the increase of one resident. In this regard, this study is a basic study on the housing complex culture of Korea. It is not that the hosing complex culture has been imported from the western society today, but the Korean traditional housing complex's culture proposed by Korean first developer Segwon Jeong has already existed in Korea urban and architectural perspective. In the early 20th century, Segwon's improved Hanok planned to complement the disadvantages of the existing hanok and the modernization of hanok such as the standardization of hanok, moreover the most important point is the beginning of the Korean style housing complex by modernization of the inner space of hanok. It is expected that this study for Segwon's housing complex of improved hanok will provide important basic data for the Korean-style convergence residential culture plan needed for our society in the future.

  • Abstract Social pathologic phenomenon such as low fertility, nuclear family and one person households seems to be on the rise as Korea moves towards being an aging society. We think many trouble is expected to be exit as aging society progresses, but there were few studies about an aging society, especially funeral culture. Appearance of the aging society in Korea similarly follows the course of Japan. So we studied about similar funeral culture of aging society in Japan and prepared for the funeral culture in Korea. This study will suggest a gaze on realistic objective point of view, through the way to illustrate exactly the concept of "funeral for family (家族葬)" among Japanese funeral culture(Syukacheu(終活), Chyokusou(直葬) and funeral for family(家族葬)) and will be expected to be an important guide for leading the funeral culture in Korea occur due to aging in future. And this study will give a chance to ruminate on our's funeral attitude about the deceased's dignity.

  • 340 nm UV radiation of $2500\;kJ/m^2$ irradiated a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) specimen used for interior and exterior materials of a car. After the UV irradiation, the black sample surface was changed to gray. Materials on the aged sample were collected and analyzed using GC/MS, but significant materials were not found. Lots of small cracks were found on the aged specimen surface. Whitening phenomenon of the aged sample disappeared by brushing or searing with a fire on the aged surface. After brushing or searing with a fire, small cracks on the surface vanished. Samples before and after the aging, and the treated samples with brush or fire were analyzed using image analyzer, SEM, EDX, and ATR and the results were compared. The vanished whitening phenomenon by brushing or searing was explained with filling the small cracks by polypropylene of TPE.
