The volume fraction of the coarse aggregate in the conventional plastic concrete is controlled relatively low to ensure a required workability. In this paper, a new type of coarse aggregate interlocking concrete with strength ranging from C30 to C80 was prepared with scattering-filling aggregate process. The strength of concrete prepared with this method increases obviously whereas the shrinkage decreases significantly, the cement dosage in the concrete decreased 20 % at the same time. The microhardness of the ITZ between the cement paste and scattering-filling aggregate is higher than that of the original aggregate, the ITZ become narrower and tighter also. The interlocking and more even distribution of the coarse aggregate and the water absorption of the addition of extra amount of coarse aggregates contribute to the strength and performance improvement of the concrete prepared with scattering-filling aggregate process.

To provide the end-to-end service differentiation for assured services, the random early demotion and promotion (REDP) marker in the edge router at each domain boundary monitors the aggregate flow of the incoming in-profile packets and demotes in-profile packets or promotes the previously demoted in-profile packets at the aggregate flow level according to the negotiated interdomain service level agreement (SLA). The REDP marker achieves UDP fairness in demoting and promoting packets through random and early marking decisions on packets. But, TCP fairness of the REDP marker is not obvious as for UDP sources. In this paper, to improve TCP fairness of the REDP marker, we propose a modified REDP marker where we combine a dropper, meters and a token filling rate configuration component with the REDP marker. To make packet transmission rates of TCP flows more fair, at the aggregate flow level the combined dropper drops incoming excessive in-profile packets randomly with a constant probability when the token level in the leaky bucket stays in demotion region without incoming demoted in-profile packets. Considering the case where the token level cannot stay in demotion region without the prior demotion, we propose a token filling rate configuration method using traffic meters. By using the token filling rate configuration method, the modified REDP marker newly configures a token filling rate which is less than the negotiated rate determined by interdomain SLA and larger than the current input aggregate in-profile traffic rate. Then, with the newly configured token filling rate, the token level in the modified REDP marker can stay in demotion region pertinently fir the operation of the dropper to improve TCP fairness. We experiment with the modified REDP marker using ns2 simulator fur TCP sources at the general case where the token level cannot stay in demotion region without the prior demotion at the negotiated rate set as the bottleneck link bandwidth. The simulation results demonstrate that through the combined dropper with the newly configured token filling rate, the modified REDP marker also increases both aggregate in-profile throughput and link utilization in addition to TCP fairness improvement compared to the REDP marker.

In this study, filling performance of concrete is investigated experimentally for the developmenmt of the concrete to be used in concrete filled steel tubular columns with inner diaphrams. Water-cement ratio with 3 levels, unit water contents with 5 levels, unit coarse aggregate contents with 5 levels, and slump flow with 3 levels are selected for test variables. For the estimation of the filling properties of the concrete, slump flow, V-type funnel time, U-type box height are measured and compared. A device which simulates the steel tubular column is designed and three kinds of concrete are tested with it. As the results, the filling performance is decreased with increasing coarse aggregate content. And, within the scope of this study, concretes with coarse aggregate content less than 880 kg/$\textrm{m}^3$ show good filling performance. To prevent excessive settlement of the concrete pumped into the steel tubular column, slump flow should be controlled within the limited range.
On the paved track, the railway ballast is used as aggregate for the filling layer using the pre-packed concrete method. The condition of ballast as the paved track aggregate ensure that the compressive strength, particle distribution size for the pouring and surface clearance to increase the adhesive strength with mortar. It is profitable to recycle the existing railway ballast as a economical supply. In order to increase recycling characteristic, it is necessary to apply the similar criterion which does not exceed the conventional railway ballast criterion. Consequently, this paper was to investigate physical characteristics of existing ballast, particle size distribution, compressive and flexural strength, bearing capacity and filling capacity to prepare the aggregate's recycling. As a result, optimized aggregate criterion is suggested.

This study is intended to investigate the engineering properties of concrete, in which cement and fine aggregate are replaced with cement kiln dust(CKD), such as the properties of fresh concrete and hardened concrete and hydration heat history, for effective using method of CKD, a by-product produced in the process of making cement. According to the results, as the replacing ratio of CKD increases, slump and air content of concrete decreases remarkably due to an increase of viscosity and filling of the pores. As the properties of setting, initial and final setting time are shortened with an increase of the replacing ratio of CKD, and as the replacement of CKD for fine aggregate increases, setting time is shortened more greatly. Compressive strength increases due to filling of the pores and reduction of air content in comparison with plain concrete. When the replacement ratio of CKD for cement is 10% and 15%, peak temperature of hydration heat lowers slightly, but it goes up in the case of replacement of CKD for fine aggregate. Also, when cement and fine aggregate is replaced with CKD by 2.5% and 7.5% respectively(1C3S) in the case of replacement of CKD for cement and fine aggregate, it is highest.

Sandwich panel made by foamed styrene and ployuretane has been used generally in the construction area because of the high thermal conductivity and light weight but they occur harmful gases to both bodies and environments in the high temperature over $50^{\circ}C$. So, the purpose of this study is to investigate the physical properties of light-weight panel using the non-structural lightweight aggregate as a part of the substitution of foamed styrene and ployuretane. This paper dealt with the effect of the addition of polymer dispersion such as SBR, St/BA-1 and St/BA-2 having polymer-cement ratio as 5, 10, 15% and the filling ratio of continuous void as 50, 60% on the strength of polymer-modified sandwich panel core. From the results, we could know that the compressive and flexural strength of the sandwich panel core using non-structural lightweight aggregate and polymer dispersion such as SBR, St/BA-1 and St/BA-2 tended to be increased with an increase in the polymer-cement ratio and the filling ratio of continuous void.

Experimental tests on the high strength self-compacting concrete with light-weight fine aggregate and light-weight coarse aggregate(LHSSC) were performed with slump-flow, reaching time to the slump-flow of 500mm, V-funnel dropping time and U-box difference level and compressive strength. LHSCC with light-weight fine aggregate of 75% and light-weight coarse aggregate of 100% was only satisfied with the property conditions of second self-compacting concrete(SCC), like as flowability, resistance to segregation and filling ability. The 28-day compressive strength of LHSCC indicated above 300kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ in all concrete mixtures, and it was increased to increase the replacement ratio of light-weight fine aggregate or to decrease the replacement ratio of light-weight coarse aggregate. Therefore, for satisfying the properties of fresh SCC and hardened concrete with above 350kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$, it would expected that the replacement ratio of light-weight fine aggregate and light-weight coarse aggregate will be determined with 50~75% and 25~50%, respectively.

This study investigated influence of kind of fine aggregate on fundamental properties of concrete. For the properties of fluidity with various type of fine aggregate, lime stone crushed fine aggregate(Ls) exhibited favorable result, due to grain shape and particle distribution, and next was granite crushed fine aggregate(Gs), natural fine aggregate(Ns). Ns had the highest value of air content while Ls had the lowest, due to the effective filling performance by continuos particle distribution. Ls, Ns, Gs in an order had higher bleeding capacity and faster setting time. However, compressive and tensile strength value exhibited similar tendency, regardless of aggregate type.
Since its introduction in 1993, Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) has been shown to be superior to others in sealing, biocompatibility, and many other aspects of clinical endodontics. MTA is primarily Portland cement with bismuth oxide as a radiopacitifier. Although some studies suggested that the reasonable-priced Portland cement could be used instead of MTA, but MTAs are different from Portland cement in its composition, especially in heavy metal contents. Therefore, clinicians should be meticulous adapting the Portland cement as a MTA substitute.
Fluctuations in groundwater level are the major cause of ground subsidence in the abandoned limestone mine. In this study, evaluation of groundwater flow under three different cases of natural condition, aggregate-filling, temporary drainage in groundwater-saturated limestone mine cavities was executed by 3-dimensional analysis. In the case of aggregate-filling, although the water level both in the upper ground of mine cavities and an agricultural watershed was elevated, it was lower than the water level fluctuation of an agricultural water use and rainfall and the flow rate was similar to the flow rate of natural condition. In the case of temporary drainage, as the water level in the upper ground of mine cavities and an agricultural watershed decrease rapidly and the flow rate has increased by 25times, so the risk of ground subsidence increased.
