  • Among the six antihistamine agents tested in this study, homochlorcyclizine showed the highest bradykinin antagonistic activity in the receptor binding assay as well as the isolated rat ileum assay. Schild plot analysis of bradykinin-induced ileal contraction in the presence of three different concentrations of homochlorcyclizine revealed a pA$_{2}$=6.26, and a correlation coefficient of 0.984. Homochlorcyclizine of (100 $\mu{M}$ final concentration) also showed 25% antagonistic activity in the receptor binding assay.

  • An effective paging strategy is essential for improving the utility of radio channels. This paper proposes a two-step paging strategy which involves using base station paging agents to page a single cell at each paging. An analytical model is used to evaluate the performance of the proposed strategy. The proposed strategy is compared with the traditional simultaneous paging strategy and a recent proposal using the base station paging agents. The numerical results showed that the proposed strategy proficiently reduces paging cost on radio channels compared with other paging strategies.

  • Due on failures of communication nodes for the wireless and wired networks, mobile agents may be blocked even if there is available service in the networks. To solve it, we propose migration policy with reordering of the paths to guarantee the migration of mobile agents and the paper will provide the extension with the autonomous migration of mobile agents.

  • Several Compendia are effective in relation with production and supply of pharmaceutical agents in Korea. Those compendia exists only in printed documents, which are not suitable for the analysis of their contents and inter-relationship among them when they have specifications on the same or related pharmaceutical agents. For the analysis of contents of Korean compendia, database system is desinged and all of the available data are entered into relational database system. Every specification was analyzed into several database tables, fields and relations between tables. (omitted)

  • The reaction of sulfhydryl groups in human serum ablumin with bacteriostatic and hypotensive notrosating agents such as sodium nitorprusside and sodium nitrite has been examined. The low reactivity of sodium nitroprusside to sulfhydral groups in albumin has been observed and the sterical inaccessilibility of the agent site which sulfhydryl group resides was implicated. The reaction of sodium nitrite with albumin was highly influenced by pH and little reactivity was observed at physiological pH. On the other hand, the reaction between albumin and S-nitrosoglutatione, an intermediate induced from the reaction of glutathione and nitrosating agents, resulted in the rapid decrease of free sulfhydryl groups in albumin. S-Nitrosylation of the sulfhydryl group by S-nitrosoglutathione and the subsequent production of mixed disulfide is the probable route of modification. In the physiological system, S-nitroso-glutathione may act as an active intermediate in expressing reacivity of nitrosating agents to sulfhydryl groups in albumin.

  • This study was carried out to obtain the basic data for producing higher functional coating agents for pulp mold by evaluating various kinds of starch derivatives. At that time, four kinds of starch derivatives were manufactured for making coating agents respectively. Physical properties of coated paperboards were tested. Conclusions obtained from this results were as follows. The water and oil resistance of hydroxypropylated, cyanoethylated and carboxymethylated starch were high when degree of molar substitution(DS) of propylene oxide, acrylonitrile and sodium monochloroacetate were 0.18, 0.07 and 0.009, respectively. Also, the those of crosslinked starch were high when degree of crosslinking of epichlorohydrin was 0.02. Consequently, $8\%$ solution of carboxymethylated starch made with DS 0.009 of monochloroacetate was the best among coating agents from starch derivatives mentioned above.

  • Many multicast applications, such as video-on-demand and video conferencing, desire quality of service (QoS) support from an underlying network. The differentiated services (DiffServ) approach will bring benefits for theses applications. However, difficulties arise while integrating native IP multicasting with DiffServ, such as multicast group states in the core routers and a heterogeneous QoS requirement within the same multicast group. In addition, a missing per-flow reservation in DiffServ and a dynamic join/leave in the group introduce heavier and uncontrollable traffic in a network. In this paper, we propose a distributed and stateless admission control in the edge routers. We also use a mobile agents-based approach for dynamic resource availability checking. In this approach, mobile agents act in a parallel and distributed fashion and cooperate with each other in order to construct the multicast tree satisfying the QoS requirements.

  • This study was aimed 1) to determine the job-stress level of agricultural extension ants, 2).to analyze job-stress and its related variables. Data were collected from 512 extension ants who work at agricultural technology center in Pusan and Kyungnam province, 462 subjects were analyzed. SAS program was used. The major findings of this study were as follows: 1) the score of job-stress was low and that of job satisfaction was high,; 2) the degree of role overload of 40 year-old agents who have worked for over 20 years was high,; 3) the degree of role ambiguity of 20 year-old who have worked below 15 years was high,; 4) the degree of job-stress perception of 40 year-old agents was high,; 5) the degree of job satisfaction of among agents who finished graduate course and who are charge of section was high.

  • To investigate the susceptibility and resistance in case of simultaneous administrations of Lactobacilli and Clostridia prekparations with antituberculosis agents and antibiotics, five strains of Lactobacilli, i.e., Lactobacillus bulgaricus, L. casei, L. helveticus, L. acidophilus, L. sporogenes, and Clostridium butyricum were isolated from commercially available preparation. Minimal inhibitory concentrations (MIC) of nine antituberculosis agents and 21 antibiotics against these strains were determined. The results shwoed that these strains were very sensitive only to rifampicin among antituberculosis agents, and sensitive to other antibiotics. Since the simultaneous oral administration of rifampicin and other antibkiotics with these sensitive strains is ineffective, development of new resistant mutants is desirable.
