  • Many higher fungi were collected at Mt.Manrae, Mt.Kirin, Mt.Nam, Mt.Unjang, Mt.Yonsuk, Mt.Minjuji from May, 2000 to June, 2001 and they were identified. As the result, Marasmius buxi, M. epiphylloides, M. hudsoni, Mycena erubescens, Agaricus bisporus var. bisporus, Panellus ringens, Lactarius aquiflus, Leccinum quericinum were newly discovered in Korea. They were designed Korean common names by author.

Development of a Segregating Population with Biological Efficiency in Agaricus bisporus

  • In this study, we made a population with high biological efficiency (BE) to investigate the complex genetic architecture of yield-related traits in Agaricus bisporus. MB-013 crossed between bisp 015-p2 and bisp 034-p2, had high BE. Additionally MB-013 was an intervarietal hybrid that intercrosses with A. bisporus var. burnettii, bisp 015, and A. bisporus var. bisporus, bisp 034. One hundred and seventy homokaryons were selected using the cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence (CAPS) markers (PIN primer/HaeIII) from 300 single spore isolates (SSIs). One hundred $BC_1F_1$ hybrids were obtained by crossing the homokaryons of MB-013 with bisp15-p1. The population of 100 BC1F1 hybrids is suitable for analyses of BE.

Anti-Helicobacter pylori Activity of Mshurooms

  • Inhibitory effects of the mushrooms on the growth and urease of Helicobacter pylori (HP), which is associated with human gastroduodenal diseases such as gastritis, peptic ulcer and gastric carcinoma, were investigated. Most of the mushroom extracts did not show inhibitory effect on HP urease except Coriolus versicolar, Auricularia auricular Sarcodon aspratus and Flammulina velutipes. The extract of Ganoderma lucidum, Coriolus versicolar, Gyropora esculenta and Agaricus bisporus var. albidus inhibited the growth of HP. When their extracts were fractionated, the ether fraction of Ganoderma lucidum and Agaricus bisporus var. albidus were the most effective. Among seven components separated from the ether fraction of G. lucidum extract by silica gel column chromatography, P3 was the most potent: MIC was $200{\mu}g/ml$. However, P3 did not inhibit the urease.

진탕배양법(振?培養法)에 의한 양송이 균사체(菌絲體)의 생산(生産) (Production of Mushroom Mycelium (Agaricus campestris) in Shaking Culture)

  • 양송이(Agaricus campestris var. bisporus)의 액체배양을 위하여 TGY 배지(培地)에서의 배양조건을 보면 $27{\sim}30^{\circ}C$ 진탕배양에서 pH는 배양일수에 따라 증가하는 경향을 나타내었고, 배양(培養) 12일에는 균체량의 생산도 많았고 질소함량도 7%를 유지하였으며, 배지중 탄소원은 거의 소실되었다. 배양기의 질소원으로는 ${(NH_4)}_2HPO_4$에서 수율(收率)이 좋았고, yeast extract 를 첨가하였을 때 균사체량이 더 증가하였다. 탄소원으로서는 glucose 가 가장 좋았고 fructose, maltose, lactose, sucrose 는 거의 비슷하였으며 가용성 전분은 거의 자화(資化)하지 못하였다. 양송이 균사체(菌絲體)는 단백질 함량이 48%이고 유리(遊離)아미노산으로서는 arginine, histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, phenylalanine, proline, tyrosine 의 8종이 검출되었으며 단백질에는 각종 필수(必須)아미노산 특히 lysine, threonine이 많이 포함되어 있으므로 고품질(高品質)의 단백질 식품으로서 가치가 있음을 보여주었다.

A Comprehensive Review of Tropical Milky White Mushroom (Calocybe indica P&C)

  • A compressive description of tropical milky white mushroom (Calocybe indica P&C var. APK2) is provided in this review. This mushroom variety was first identified in the eastern Indian state of West Bengal and can be cultivated on a wide variety of substrates, at a high temperature range ($30{\sim}38^{\circ}C$). However, no commercial cultivation was made until 1998. Krishnamoorthy 1997 rediscovered the fungus from Tamil Nadu, India and standardized the commercial production techniques for the first time in the world. This edible mushroom has a long shelf life (5~7 days) compared to other commercially available counterparts. A comprehensive and critical review on physiological and nutritional requirements viz., pH, temperature, carbon to nitrogen ratio, best carbon source, best nitrogen source, growth period, growth promoters for mycelia biomass production; substrate preparation; spawn inoculation; different supplementation and casing requirements to increase the yield of mushrooms has been outlined. Innovative and inexpensive methods developed to commercially cultivate milky white mushrooms on different lignocellulosic biomass is also described in this review. The composition profiles of milky white mushroom, its mineral contents and non-enzymatic antioxidants are provided in comparison with button mushroom (Agaricus bisporus) and oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus). Antioxidant assay results using methanol extract of milky white mushroom has been provided along with the information about the compounds that are responsible for flavor profile both in fresh and dry mushrooms. Milky white mushroom extracts are known to have anti-hyperglycemic effect and anti-lipid peroxidation effect. The advantage of growing at elevated temperature creates newer avenues to explore milky white mushroom cultivation economically around the world, especially, in humid tropical and sub-tropical zones. Because of its incomparable productivity and shelf life to any other cultivated mushrooms in the world, milky white mushroom could play an important role in satisfying the growing market demands for edible mushrooms in the near future.

느타리버섯 배지로부터 느타리버섯 균사의 성장을 돕는 고온성 곰팡이의 분리 및 동정 (Isolation and Characterization of Growth Stimulating Thermophilic Fungi on Oyster Mushroom from Oyster Mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) Compost)

  • 버섯을 재배하는데 있어 버섯 균사의 성장은 고온성 곰팡이의 성장과 밀접한 연관이 있다. 느타리버섯 재배용 배지의 후발효 과정에서 느타리균사에 대하여 성장촉진 효과를 나타내는 7종의 thermophilic fungi를 순수분리 하였다. 각 7종의 thermophilic fungi모두 PDA(potato dextrose agar) 배지, $50^{\circ}C$에서 균사의 최적성장을 나타내었으며, 그 중 S-1, S-2 균주가 균사성장률이 가장 높았다. 또한 느타리버섯 폐면 배지에서도 좋은 성장을 나타내 우수한 고온성 후발효 균주로의 사용 가능성이 기대되었다. 액체배양 시 배지의 최초 pH는 pH 7.0- pH 10.0까지 다양한 구간에서 최적상태를 나타내었으나, pH 8.0또는 pH 9.0의 약알칼리 환경에서 잘 자랐으며, 배양 후 배지의 pH는 pH 5.5-6.0의 약산성을 띄었다. 이러한 최적환경에서 성장률을 측정한 결과 S-2 균주가 높은 성장률(0.47-0.50g/10 days)을 나타내었다. 형태적인 분류법에 따라 분류한 결과 S-1 균류는 Trichophyton sp.으로 동정되었으며, 이 외의 6 균주는 Sepedonium sp으로 분류되었다. 느타리버섯 후발효 과정에서 나타난 고온성 곰팡이들의 분포는 양송이 배지 숙성과정에 나타나는 고온성 곰팡이들의 분포와는 매우 달랐다. 이는 배지 성분 차이에 따른 생태적 차이로 판단되었다.
