KASS 활용을 위한 위성기반 보강항법시스템(SBAS) 비규격 데이터 전송 방법 연구 (SBAS Non-Standard Data Transmission Method for Korea Augmentation Satellite System Applications)

  • 지난 2014년 한국형 SBAS (satellite based augmentation system)인 KASS (korea augmentation satellite system) 개발 구축 사업을 본격적으로 착수하였다. SBAS는 항공용으로 제정된 규격이지만, 비항공 분야에서도 활용이 가능하다. SBAS 규격으로 정해져 있는 메시지에 전송되는 정보의 종류 및 내용이 한정되어 있다. 전송되는 정보를 통해 센티미터 수준의 고정밀 위치 정보가 요구되는 분야에서 활용하기에는 정확도 수준이 낮기 때문에 추가적인 정보 제공이 필요하다. 비항공 분야에서 활용되는 정보를 항공기 항법에 영향을 주지 않으면서 안전하게 전송하기 위해서는 이에 대한 방법이 필요하다. 따라서, 이 논문에서는 항공용 SBAS 수신기에 대한 안전을 확보하면서 비항공 분야에서 활용할 수 있는 비규격 SBAS 데이터를 전송하는 방법에 대해 고찰하였다.

EIS 분석을 통한 Mg 함량에 따른 Zn-Mg 박막의 부식 특성에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Corrosion Property of the Zn-Mg Alloy Coatings with Various Mg Contents using EIS Measurement)

  • In this study, the Zn-Mg alloy coatings with various Mg contents were deposited using an unbalanced magnetron sputtering process. Their surface microstructure, chemical composition, phase, and corrosion property were investigated. The microstructure of the Zn-Mg coatings changed from porous microstructure to dense one with increasing Mg contents in the coatings. As Mg contents in coatings increased, intermetallic phases such as $Mg_2Zn_{11}$ and $MgZn_2$ were detected from X-ray diffraction (XRD) results. The corrosion resistance of the Zn-Mg alloy coatings was investigated quantitatively using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurement with 3.5% NaCl solution. The results of EIS measurement showed that the charge transfer resistance and the phase angle of the Zn-Mg alloy coatings were increased from $162.1{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$ to $558.8{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$ and from about $40^{\circ}$ to $60^{\circ}$ with increasing Mg contents from 5.1 wt.% to 15.5 wt.% in the coatings. These results demonstrate that the Zn-Mg coatings with increasing Mg contents showed an enhanced corrosion resistance.

Nanocomposite Coating with TiAlN and Amorphous Carbon Phases Synthesized by Reactive Magnetron Sputtering

  • TiAlCN coatings with various C contents were synthesized by unbalanced magnetron sputtering. The characteristics, the crystalline structure, surface morphology, hardness, and friction coefficient of the coatings as a function of the C content were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM), a microhardness tester, and a wear test. In addition, their corrosion behaviors in a deaerated 3.5 wt% NaCl solution at $40^{\circ}C$ were investigated by potentiodynamic polarization tests. The results indicated that the $Ti_{14.9}Al_{15.5}C_{30.7}N_{38.9}$ coating had the highest hardness, elastic modulus, and a plastic deformation resistance of 39 GPa, 359 GPa, and 0.55, respectively, and it also had the lowest friction coefficient of approximately 0.26. Comparative evaluation of the TiAlCN coatings indicated that a wide range of coating properties, especially coating hardness, could be obtained by the synthesis methods and processing variables. The microhardness of the coatings was much higher than that from previously reported coating using similar magnetron sputtering processes. It was almost as high as the microhardness measured from the TiAlCN coatings (~41 GPa) synthesized using an arc ion plating process. The potentiodynamic test showed that the corrosion resistance of the TiAlCN coatings was significantly better than the TiAlN coatings, and their corrosion current density ($i_{corr}$), corrosion potentials ($E_{corr}$) and corrosion rate decreased with an increasing C content in the coatings. The much denser microstructure of the coatings due to the increased amount of amorphous phase with increasing C contents in the coatings could result in the the improved corrosion resistance of the coatings.

  • 본 논문은 다시점 영상에서 프레임율 변환 (Frame Rate Up Conversion, FRUC) 기법을 적용하는 방식에 대하여 서술한다. 먼저, 임의의 시점의 영상을 생성하기 위해서 사용되는 중간시점 영상합성 (View Synthesis, VS)기법과 연속되는 영상 사이에 새로운 영상을 만들어내는 프레임율 변환기법에 대하여 간략히 소개한다. 그리고, 기존의 프레임율 변환 방식과 다시점 영상의 특징을 이용한 프레임율 변환 방식을 소개하고 각각의 방식으로 생성한 영상의 화질을 비교한다.

  • In this study, drawing process of KFP engine airsealing bearing support part is analyzed by dynamic explicit finite element method. Puckering should be supressed to meet the specification. By investigating the influence fo process parameter, the feasible process condition can be obtained. The corresponding experiment is carried out. There is good agreement between the experiment and FE simulation . From this result, it is shown that the dynamic explicit finite element method can be used effectively to avoid puckering and wrinking problem in drawing process.

The Application of Piezoelectric Materials in Smart Structures in China

  • Piezoelectric materials have become the most attractive functional materials for sensors and actuators in smart structures because they can directly convert mechanical energy to electrical energy and vise versa. They have excellent electromechanical coupling characteristics and excellent frequency response. In this article, the research activities and achievements on the applications of piezoelectric materials in smart structures in China, including vibration control, noise control, energy harvesting, structural health monitoring, and hysteresis control, are introduced. Special attention is given to the introduction of semi-active vibration suppression based on a synchronized switching technique and piezoelectric fibers with metal cores for health monitoring. Such mechanisms are relatively new and possess great potential for future applications in aerospace engineering.

A Comparison Study of Real-Time Solution to All- Attitude Angles of an Aircraft

  • In this paper, the quaternion, the dual Euler, and the direction cosine methods are numerically compared using a non-aerodynamic 6 degree-of-freedom rigid model at all-attitude angles of an aircraft. The dual Euler method turns out to be superior to the others in the applications because it shows better numerical accuracy, stability, and robustness in integration step sizes. The dual Euler method is affordably less efficient than the quaternion method in terms of computational cost. Numerical accuracy and stability, which allow larger integration step sizes, are more critical in modern real-time applications than computational efficiency because of today's increased computational power. If the quaternion method is required because of constraints in computation time, then a suppression mechanism should be provided for algebraic constraint errors which will eventually add computational burden.

  • In recent years, the hyperspectral instruments with high spatial and high spectral resolution have become an important component of wide variety of earth science applications. The primary mission of the proposed Compact Airborne Imaging Spectrometer System (CAISS) in this study is to acquire and provide full contiguous spectral information with high quality spectral and spatial resolution for advanced applications in the field of remote sensing. The CAISS will also be used as the vicarious calibration equipment for the cross-calibration of satellite image data. The CAISS consists of six physical units: the camera system, the Jig, the GPS/INS, the gyro-stabilized mount, the operating system, and the power inverter and distributor. Additionally, the calibration instruments such as the integrated sphere and spectral lamps are also prepared for the radiometric and spectral calibration of the CAISS. The CAISS will provide high quality calibrated image data that can support evaluation of satellite application products. This paper summarizes the design, development and major characteristic of the CAISS.

  • A combination Aerodynamic/Atmospheric Boundary Layer (AABL) Wind and Gust Tunnel with a unique active gust generation capability has been developed for wind engineering and industrial aerodynamics applications. This facility is a cornerstone component of the Wind Simulation and Testing (WiST) Laboratory of the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Iowa State University (ISU). The AABL Wind and Gust tunnel is primarily a closed-circuit tunnel that can be also operated in open-return mode. It is designed to accommodate two test sections ($2.44m{\times}1.83m$ and $2.44m{\times}2.21m$) with a maximum wind speed capability of 53 m/s. The gust generator is capable of producing non-stationary gust magnitudes around 27% of the mean flow speed. This paper describes the motivation for developing this gust generator and the work related to its design and testing.

Hemp fibre woven fabrics / polypropylene based honeycomb sandwich structure for aerospace applications

  • Recently, natural fibre composites are widely used in aerospace industries due to their good specific mechanical properties, better acoustic properties, light weight, readily availability, biodegradability, recyclability, etc. In this study, the hemp fibre woven fabrics / polypropylene based honeycomb sandwich structure were proposed for aerospace applications. Firstly, the hemp fibre woven fabrics based honeycomb sandwich structures were manufactured and experimental mechanical tests (compressive and flexural) were performed in the laboratory. Numerical simulation was also performed and analysed to validate the proposed methodology. Different complex shaped aircraft part CAD models were created and numerical analysis was carried out in order to have a better understanding about the complex honeycomb sandwich structures.
