정전 분무법을 이용하여 제조된 Fe-Cr-Al 분말 다공체 금속의 고온 산화에 미치는 소결 온도의 영향 (Effect of Sintering Temperature on the High Temperature Oxidation of Fe-Cr-Al Powder Porous Metal Manufactured by Electrospray Process)

  • A new manufacturing process of Fe-Cr-Al powder porous metal was attempted. First, ultra-fine fecralloy powders were produced by using the submerged electric wire explosion process. Evenly distributed colloid (0.05~0.5% powders) was dispersed on PU (Polyurethane) foam through the electrospray process. And then degreasing and sintering processes were conduced. In order to examine the effect of sintering temperature in process, pre-samples were sintered for two hours at temperatures of $1350^{\circ}C$, $1400^{\circ}C$, $1450^{\circ}C$, and $1500^{\circ}C$, respectively, in $H_2$ atmospheres. A 24-hour TGA (thermo gravimetric analysis) test was conducted at $1000^{\circ}C$ in a 79% $N_2$+21% $O_2$ to investigate the high temperature oxidation behavior of powder porous metal. The results of the high temperature oxidation tests showed that oxidation resistance increased with increasing sintering temperature (2.57% oxidation weight gain at $1500^{\circ}C$ sintered specimen). The high temperature oxidation mechanism of newly manufactured Fe-Cr-Al powder porous metal was also discussed.

Effects of Various Physicochemical Treatments on Volatiles and Sensory Characteristics of Irradiated Beef Bulgogi

  • Off-flavor and lipid oxidation are possible defects of irradiated bulgogi. This study compared the effects of several physicochemical treatments on microbial safety, volatiles, lipid oxidation, and sensory properties of irradiated beef bulgogi. Samples were separately irradiated with 20 kGy after each treatment such as packaging (aerobic and vacuum), antioxidants (vitamin C + ${\alpha}$-tocopherol (0.0 and 1.0%, w/w)), charcoal teabags (0 and 0.5%), or different temperatures (room temperature, -20, and -70$^{\circ}C$). No bacterial growth was observed (p<0.05) after irradiation of more than 20 kGy during storage at $35^{\circ}C$. Volatiles created by irradiating bulgogi were toluene, heptane, and 1,3-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)benzene. Irradiation offflavor, lipid oxidation, and deterioration of sensory quality induced by irradiation were effectively reduced (p<0.05) by all physico-chemical treatments tested.

Deposition and high temperature oxidation characterization of CrAlSiN thin films

  • Thin films of CrAlSiN were deposited on SKD11 tool steel substrate using Cr and AlSi cathodes by a cathodic arc plasma deposition system. The influence of process parameters on the deposited film properties were investigated. The oxidation characteristics of the films were studied at temperatures ranging from 800 and 1000+C up to 50 h in air. The films showed superhardness and good oxidation resistance..

The Removal of Petroleum Hydrocarbon from Fine Soil in Soil Washing Water using Advanced Oxidation Processes

  • This study was performed to test the applicability of the ozone/hydroxy radical reaction system, which applied advanced oxidation processes, to remove total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) from the fine soil in washing water of the soil washing process. Removal efficiency was tested on 40 L of washing water in a pilot reaction tank. Fine soil contaminated with $800mg\;kg^{-1}$ TPH was prepared at 5% and 10% suspended solids. Testing conditions included ozone/hydroxy radical flow rates of 40, 80, and $120L\;min^{-1}$, and processing time of 2 to 12 hours. The removal efficiency of petroleum hydrocarbon from water waster by ozone/hydroxy radical was increased with higher flow rates and lower percentages of suspended solids. Optimal efficiency was achieved at $80L\;min^{-1}$ flow rate for 4 hours for the 5% suspended solids, and $120L\;min^{-1}$ for 6 hours for the 10% suspended solids. These results verified the efficiency of hydroxy radical in removing TPH and the applicability of the ozone/hydroxy radical reaction system in the field.

The Influence of Surface Modification of Gold Nanoparticles Supported on TiO2 in the Catalytic Activity of CO Oxidation

  • Gold catalysts supported on TiO2 have shown a unique catalytic behavior on CO oxidation, depending on surface effects. Particle size has an influence on the surface activity. To make monodisperse Au nanoparticles, organic capping ligands, such as alkylthiols, were used by a "greener" synthesis method [1,2] and Au nanoparticles were deposited on TiO2. However, organic capping ligands must be removed for high catalytic activities by the Au nanoparticles without changing the Au size [3]. We used UV ozone treatment to decompose thiol ligands. The samples have been characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy to examine the surface modification by UV ozone treatment. We show the size distribution of the gold nanoparticles by light scattering analysis and transmission electron microscopy. Au/TiO2 have been prepared using the wetness impregnation method. The catalytic performance of CO oxidation over Au supported on TiO2 under oxidizing reaction conditions (40 Torr CO and 100 Torr O2) were tested. The results show that the catalytic activity depends on particle size and the time of UV ozone exposure, which suggests the role of sulfur bonding in determining the catalytic activity of Au/TiO2 catalysts.

  • 여러가지 함량으로 은을 입힌$ Ag/{\alpha}-Al_2O_3$$Ag/SnO_2$상에서의 반응실험과 촉매의 Auger spectra, $SnO_2$에 흡착된 산소의 EPR spectra를 비교하여 담체의 종류가 에틸렌 산화반응의 활성과 선택성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. $SnO_2$상에서는 흡착산소중 O-가 반응에 참여하여 ethylene를 완전 산화하는 방향으로 유도하므로써 ethylene oxide 생성의 선택성을 저하시키는 것 같다.
