An Adequacy Based Test Data Generation Technique Using Genetic Algorithms

  • As the complexity of software is increasing, generating an effective test data has become a necessity. This necessity has increased the demand for techniques that can generate test data effectively. This paper proposes a test data generation technique based on adequacy based testing criteria. Adequacy based testing criteria uses the concept of mutation analysis to check the adequacy of test data. In general, mutation analysis is applied after the test data is generated. But, in this work, we propose a technique that applies mutation analysis at the time of test data generation only, rather than applying it after the test data has been generated. This saves significant amount of time (required to generate adequate test cases) as compared to the latter case as the total time in the latter case is the sum of the time to generate test data and the time to apply mutation analysis to the generated test data. We also use genetic algorithms that explore the complete domain of the program to provide near-global optimum solution. In this paper, we first define and explain the proposed technique. Then we validate the proposed technique using ten real time programs. The proposed technique is compared with path testing technique (that use reliability based testing criteria) for these ten programs. The results show that the adequacy based proposed technique is better than the reliability based path testing technique and there is a significant reduce in number of generated test cases and time taken to generate test cases.

교수 질 프로필(IQP)에 기반한 중학교 2학년 수학과 교수의 질 분석 (An evaluation on the quality of mathematics instruction for 8th grade based on the instructional quality profile)

  • This study was conducted as a part of the project to evaluate the quality of mathematics instruction in the national curriculum system. The purpose of this study is to measure the consistency between teaching goals of mathematics curriculum, contents presentation of textbooks, and testing including adequacy of each element in mathematics instruction for 8th grade. To do this, we used MIQP (instructional quality profile for Mathematics) developed basing on the instructional quality profile (IQP) in the previous research of the project. First, the quality of textbooks' content presentation for 8th grade was found that the desirable levels in number and operation area and geometric area was relatively less compared to other areas, but it was generally good. Second, it was found that the quality of mathematics testing for 8th grade was good in terms of consistency with the curriculum's teaching goals, consistency with the content presentation of textbooks, and adequacy of testing. However, regional differences in the quality of testing showed that there were some deficiencies in regions outside the metropolitan.

Alloy 명세 기반 자동 테스트 데이터 생성 기법 (An Alloy Specification Based Automated Test Data Generation Technique)

  • 일반적으로 테스트 데이터 생성 방법들은 테스트 데이터를 자동으로 생성하기 위해서 완전한 프로그램 경로를 기술한 것을 요구한다. 이 논문에서는 프로그램 경로를 완전하게 명시하지 않아도 테스트 데이터를 자동으로 생성하는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 이를 위해 이 논문에서는 테스트 대상 프로그램을 1차 관계 논리 언어인 Alloy로 변환하고 Alloy 분석기를 통하여 테스트 데이터를 생성하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 사용자로 하여금 프로그램 경로를 선택하도록 하는 부담을 덜어줄 뿐만 아니라 다양한 테스트 적합성 기준에 따라 테스트 데이터를 생성하는 일을 용이하게 한다. 간단하지만 설명에 도움이 될 수 있는 예들을 통하여 제안한 방법에 대해 설명한다.

Experimental testing and evaluation of coating on cables in container fire test facility

  • Fire tests were conducted on cables using fire-retardant paint employed in nuclear power plants that transmit electrical power, control and instrument signals. The failure criteria of various power and control cables coated with fire retardant coating at three different coating thicknesses (~0.5 mm, 1.0 mm & 1.5 mm) were studied under direct flame test using Container Fire Test Facility (CFTF) based on standard tests for bare cables. A direct flame fire test was conducted for 10 min with an LPG ribbon burner rated at ten by fixing the cable samples in a vertical cable track. Inner sheath temperature was measured until ambient conditions were achieved by natural convection. The cables are visually evaluated for damage and the mass loss percentage. Cable functionality is ascertained by checking for electrical continuity for each sample. The thickness of cable coating on fire exposure is also studied by comparing the transient variation of inner sheath temperature along the Cable length. This study also evaluated the adequacy of fire-retardant coating on cables used for safety-critical equipment in nuclear power plants.

A Study on the Economic Feasibility Analysis of Cosmetics Beauty Industrialization Center

  • 화장품뷰티산업이 차세대 핵심 산업으로 성장하면서 산업화센터 설립이 필요한 상황이지만 투자규모의 적정성과 타당성을 검증하지 못하면 재정 부담으로 이어질 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 산업화센터의 건립 사업비와 시설 현황을 검토하여 비용추정, 수익추정, 추정손익계산, 영업현금흐름의 추정 결과를 근거로 경제적 타당성을 분석하고자 한다. 수익추정 기준은 연구사업 예상 수주(24억)의 90%, 시험장비(구축비 45억)의 임대율 12%로 적용하여 분석한 결과, 편익/비용비율은 1.02, 순현재가치는 '0'원보다 높으며, 내부수익률 또한 사회적 할인율 5.06%로 세 가지 분석 방법 모두에서 기준을 초과하여 경제적 타당성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 화장품뷰티 산업화센터 건립이 경제적 타당성을 갖추기 위해서는 연구사업 수주를 90% 이상, 장비임대 수익률은 12% 이상 유지가 필요하며, 사업수익 다양화를 위한 전략적 접근이 필요하다.
