Adaptive nois canceller can extract the noiseremoved spech in noisy speech signal by adapting the filter-coefficients to the background noise environment. A kind of LMS algorithm is one of the most popular adaptive algorithm for noise cancellation due to low complexity, good numerical property and the merit of easy implementation. However there is the matter of increasing misadjustment at voiced speech signal. Therefore the demanded speech signal may be extracted. In this paper, we propose a fast and noise robust wavelet packet adaptive noise canceller with NLMS-SUM method LMS combined algorithm. That is, we decompose the frequency of noisy speech signal at the base of the proposed analysis tree structure. NLMS algorithm in low frequency band can efficiently dliminate the effect of the low frequency noise and SUM method LMS algorithm at each high frequency band can remove the high frequency nosie. The proposed wavelet packet adaptive noise canceller is enhanced the more in SNR and according to Itakura-Satio(IS) distance, it is closer to the clean speech signal than any other previous adaptive noise canceller.
The vibration signals of driving parts of electric train are distorted its signal patterns due to the impact components, which occurs when wheel passes rail joints. An elimination method of the impact components is investigated using adaptive signal processing technique in this study The result shows that adaptive interference canceling method seems to be more effective than line enhancement technique. The application of adaptive interference canceling method to the signal measured at bogie shows that the extractions of the signals of driving parts of traction motor, reduction gear, and axle bearing are successful. Therefore, only the signals of bogie, which is the place to attach an accelerometer easily, is sufficient for the fault diagnosis and the safety evaluation of electric train. Also, adaptive interference canceling method can be applicable to evaluate the performance of vibration isolation between bogie and car body and to investigate the characteristics of indoor sound.
Reliability analysis techniques combining with various surrogate models have attracted increasing attention because of their accuracy and great efficiency. However, they primarily focus on the structures with continuous response, while very rare researches on the reliability analysis for structures with discontinuous response are carried out. Furthermore, existing adaptive reliability analysis methods based on importance sampling (IS) still have some intractable defects when dealing with small failure probability, and there is no related research on reliability analysis for structures involving discontinuous response and small failure probability. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel reliability analysis method called AGPC-IS for such structures, which combines adaptive Gaussian process classification (GPC) and adaptive-kernel-density-estimation-based IS. In AGPC-IS, an efficient adaptive strategy for design of experiments (DoE), taking into consideration the classification uncertainty, the sampling uniformity and the regional classification accuracy improvement, is developed with the purpose of improving the accuracy of Gaussian process classifier. The adaptive kernel density estimation is introduced for constructing the quasi-optimal density function of IS. In addition, a novel and more precise stopping criterion is also developed from the perspective of the stability of failure probability estimation. The efficiency, superiority and practicability of AGPC-IS are verified by three examples.
The application of adaptive finite element method to dynamic problems is investigated. Both the kinetic and strain energy errors induced by space and time discretization were estimated in a consistent manner and controlled by the simultaneous use of the adaptive mesh generation and the automatic time stepping. Also an optimal ratio of spatial discretization error to temporal discretization error was discussed. In this study it was found that the best performance can be obtained when the specified spatial and temporal discretization errors have the same value. Numerical examples are carried out to verify the performance of the procedure.
Delaunay triangulation is combined with an adaptive finite element method for analysis of two-dimensional crack propagation problems. The content includes detailed descriptions of the proposed procedure which consists of the Delaunay triangulation algorithm and an adaptive remeshing technique. The adaptive remeshing technique generates small elements around the crack tips and large elements in the other regions. Three examples for predicting the stress intensity factors of a center cracked plate, a compact tension specimen, a single edge cracked plate under mixed-mode loading, and an example for simulating crack growth behavior in a single edge cracked plate with holes, are used to evaluate the effectiveness of the procedure. These examples demonstrate that the proposed procedure can improve solution accuracy as well as reduce total number of unknowns and computational time.
In this paper, we propose a new triangular finite element mesh generation method based on simplification of high-density mesh and adaptive Level-of-Detail (LOD) methods for efficient CAE. In our method, mesh simplification is used to control the mesh properties required for FE mesh, such as the number of triangular elements, element shape quality and size while keeping the specified approximation tolerance. Adaptive LOD methods based on vertex hierarchy according to curvature and region of interest, and global LOD method preserving density distributions are also proposed in order to construct a mesh more appropriate for CAE purpose. These methods enable efficient generation of FE meshes with properties appropriate for analysis purpose from a high-density mesh. Finally, the effectiveness of our approach is shown through evaluations of the FE meshes for practical use.

For the accurate analysis of crack problems, considerable nodal refinement near the crack tip to capture singular stress field with sufficient accuracy to provide a useful computation of stress intensity factor is required. So, in this paper, adaptive nodal refinement scheme is proposed where nodes in restricted cell regions centered at crack tip are arranged in array for enhanced spatial resolution and adaptivity. With only cell-wise adaptive refinement scheme around crack tip fields, singularity of crack tip is sufficiently described to expect a successive crack propagate direction. Through numerical tests, accuracy of the proposed adaptive scheme is investigated and compared with the finite element and experimental results. By this implementation, it is shown that high accuracy is achieved by using iterative cell-wise solution method fur analyzing crack propagation problems.

In this study, the adaptive triangular beam method(ATBM) considering different sound reflection coefficients and angles of a triangular beam on two or more planes as well as diffraction effect is suggested. The ATBM, subdividing a tracing triangular beam into multiple triangular beams on reflection planes, gives reliable and convergent sound-field analysis results without the dependancy on the number of initial triangular beam segmentation to search sound propagation paths from source to receiver. The validity of the method is verified by the comparison of numerical and experimental results for energy decay curve and steady-state sound pressure level of rooms having direct, reflective and diffractive sound paths.

Non-line-of-sight (NLOS) propagation can severely weaken the accuracy of ranging and localization in wireless location systems. NLOS bias mitigation techniques have recently been proposed to relieve the NLOS effects, but positively rely on the capability to accurately distinguish between LOS and NLOS propagation scenarios. This paper proposes an energy-capture-based NLOS identification method for LDR-UWB systems, based on the analysis of the characteristics of the channel impulse response (CIR). With this proposed energy capture method, the probability of successfully identifying NLOS is much improved than the existing methods, such as the kurtosis method, the strongest path compare method, etc. This NLOS identification method can be employed in adaptive modulation scheme to decrease bit error ratio (BER) level for certain signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The BER performance with the adaptive modulation can be significantly enhanced by selecting proper modulation method with the knowledge of channel information from the proposed NLOS identification method.
The high-order numerical method based on the adaptive mesh refinement(AMR) on the quadrilateral unstructured grids has been developed in this paper. This adaptive-grid method, originally developed with MUSCL-TVD scheme, is now extended to the WENO (weighted essentially no-oscillatory) scheme with the Runge-Kutta time integration of fifth order in spatial and temporal accuracy. The multidimensional interpolation was studied in the preliminary research, which allows us to maintain the same order of accuracy for the computation of numerical flux between two adjacent cells of different levels. Some standard benchmark tests are done to validate this method for checking the overall capacity and efficiency of the present adaptive-grid technique.
