We demonstrated stability-enhanced liquid crystal (LC) displays using pixel-isolated LC mode in which LC molecules are isolated in pixel by horizontal polymer layer and vertical polymer wall. The device shows good electro-optic properties against external point or bending pressure due to the polymer structures. The polymer wall acts as supporting structure from mechanical pressure and prevents the cell gap from bending. Moreover, the polymer layer acts as an adhesive to ensure a tight attachment of the two substrates. We present herein various methods for producing polymer structures by using an anisotropic phase separation from LC and polymer composites or patterned micro-structures for stable flexible liquid crystal displays.

Of interest to second language researchers and classroom teachers today is whether and in what wats formal instruction can promote the development of appropriate use of the target language. Most formal instruction is closely related with the use of textbooks in ESL classrooms, so this study focuses on ESL textbooks. In order to learn to communicate successfully, students should use textbooks which specify the rules of language use for the community in which they are operating. This study examines the speech acts of compliment across 8 middle school English textbooks published in Korea. This study analyses the speech acts of compliment according to the following criteria : 1) vocabulary - adjective, verb, intensifier 2) sentence pattern 3) social strategy - invitation to talk, greetings, farewells, expression of gratitude, etc. 4) types of response. As a result of this study some suggestions is giver to promote the development of appropriate use of English through English textbooks.

Around 70% of domestic aircraft accidents in helicopter aircraft. The causal factors of the helicopter accidents are identified as human factors. People have focused mostly on unsafe acts to prevent the accident. The accidents should be analysed on human factors to reduce accident. The unsafe acts can be managed effectively if the latent failures were identified through the HFACS. This paper is to introduce about the latent failure classified by the HFACS and provide the analysis regarding the latent failure of the helicopters by the aviation safety advisors through the interviews.

By enforcing skew of permanent magnet, detent force decreases, but lateral force that acts for vertical direction of moving direction occurs. This force deteriorates various performance of PMLSM as that acts to friction force between mover and LM guide. Therefore, in this paper, V skew model is proposed for lateral force's reduction and simulation results are compared to experimental value.
