  • World Health Organization reported that heart-related diseases such as coronary artery stenoses show the highest occurrence rate which may cause heart attack. Using Computed Tomography angiography images will allow radiologists to detect and have intervention by creating 3D roadmapping of the vessels. However, it is often complex and difficult do reconstruct 3D vessel which causes very large amount of time and previous researches were studied to segment vessels more accurate automatically. Therefore, in this paper, Region Competition, Geodesic Active Contour (GAC), Multi-atlas based segmentation and Active Shape Model algorithms were applied to segment aortic root from CTA images and the results were analyzed by using mean Hausdorff distance, volume to volume measure, computational time, user-interaction and coronary ostium detection rate. As a result, Extracted 3D aortic model using GAC showed the highest accuracy but also showed highest user-interaction results. Therefore, it is important to improve automatic segmentation algorithm in future

  • With rapid development in ultra fast communication and digital multimedia, the realistic broadcasting technology, that can stimulate five human senses beyond the conventional audio-visual service is emerging as a new generation broadcasting technology. In this paper, we introduce a haptic broadcasting system and related core system and component techniques by which we can 'touch and feel' objects in an audio-visual scene. The system is composed of haptic media acquisition and creation, contents authoring, in the haptic broadcasting, the haptic media can be 3-D geometry, dynamic properties, haptic surface properties, movement, tactile information to enable active touch and manipulation and passive movement following and tactile effects. In the proposed system, active haptic exploration and manipulation of a 3-D mesh, active haptic exploration of depth video, passive kinesthetic interaction, and passive tactile interaction can be provided as potential haptic interaction scenarios and a home shopping, a movie with tactile effects, and conducting education scenarios are produced to show the feasibility of the proposed system.

  • PURPOSE: This study was investigated to find the validity of active movement control test for low back pain patients with or without hamstring shortening. METHODS: The subjects of this study were 28 subjects and all of them agreed to participate in the study. All subjects were classified according to 4groups. Group1 was no LBP, no hamstring shortening. Group2 was no LBP, hamstring shortening. Group3 was LBP, no hamstring shortening. Group4 was LBP, hamstring shortening. We measured to see their low back pain and hamstring shortening with VAS, Goniometer for active movement control test. We analyzed the data using Cochran Q test and crosstabulation for agreement index. RESULTS: The results of this study were as follows : 1) Low back pain had effect on active movement control by Group1 and Group2. 2) Hamstring had effect on active movement control by Group1 and Group2 3)Low back pain with or without hamstring shortening had effect on active movement control by Group4 CONCLUSION: According the results of this study, active movement control test were significantly influenced on low back pain and hamstring interaction.

  • In this paper, a new definition of short-circuit ratio concept for multi-converter HVDC systems is proposed. Analysis results of voltage interaction between converters show that the reactive power-voltage characteristic of a converter has a dominant effect on voltage interaction level compared with its active power-voltage characteristic. Such a relation between converter reactive power and voltage interaction level supports taking the former into account in the definition of short-circuit ratio concept for multi-converter systems. The proposed definition is verified by the method of maximum power curve for various system configurations. Furthermore, a formula to calculate transient overvoltage for multi-converter systems is derived based on the proposed definition, and the efficiency of the derived formula is verified.

  • If a wall separates the bounded and unbounded spaces, then the wall's role in transporting the acoustic characteristics of the two spaces is not well defined. In this paper, we attempted to see how the acoustic characteristical of two spaces are really affected by the spatial characteristics of the wall. In order to understand coupling mechanism, we choose a finite space and a semi-infinite space separated by the flexible or rigid wall and an opening. A volume interaction can be occurred in structure boundary and a pressure interaction can be happened in the opening boundary. For its simplicity, without loosing generality, we use rather simplified rectangle model instead of generally shaped model. The source impedance is presented to the various types of boundaries. The distributions of pressure and active intensity are also presented at the cavity and structure-dominated modes. The resulting modification, shifts of mode1 frequencies and changing of standing wave patterns to satisfy both coupled boundary conditions and governing equations, are presented.

  • Designing of the apartment house in present has been contributing to private unit reflected demands and characteristics of residents. However, common space hasn't been designed in various ways compared to unit. Though the main entrance is place to link inner space and out space, to make resident identity and to communicate with neighbors, It has been produced the same type. The space design in 21st century is focusing on contents of space with the development of techniques, and we need to find applicability of new design related to digital technology in apartment house. The purpose of this study is to find applicability of interaction design at main entrance in apartment house for improvement functions of entrance. The results of this study were as follows; The main entrance is possible more active place through the interaction design that would be satisfied with residents needs and functions.

  • Cloud Computing has recently begun to emerge as a new attack target. The malice DDoS attacks are ongoing to delay and disturb the various services of the Cloud Computing. In this paper, we propose the Hornet-Cloud using security Honeypot technique and resources of Cloud Computing, define and design the concept of security functions about active low-interaction framework by cyber resilience simply. In addition, for virtual honeypot service, we simulated and vitrified the possibility of functions of the low-interaction vHoneypot using cyber resilience.

  • We performed statistical analysis for a nearby (0.01 < z < 0.05) volume limited ($M_r$ < -19) sample of galaxies via visual inspection and the definition of galaxy pair systems based on the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 7 in order to confirm the effects of galaxy interaction on AGN activities. We found that local environmental effects such as galaxy interaction have an influence on the enhancement of the frequency and the strength of the AGN activity. This article is the summary of the paper which will be submitted soon.

  • This study examines effects of Facebook on language learning in terms of facilitating interaction and collaboration by applying Facebook in a Korean language class. Forty one exchange students from seventeen countries who participated in the study used Facebook to exchange information and complete group projects. Results show that Facebook was effective in sharing class materials, engaging in class community and collaborating to complete assignments. Students also comment that socializing with peers was helpful, yet more activities and discussion to draw active participation is needed. This study also points out the important role of instructors who implement social media and manage the class.

  • In this paper, we suggest the active multi-agent middleware for the sensor network application. For this, firstly we design and implement the active rule based mobile agent middleware. The mobile agent in the proposed system visits the destination sensor nodes according to the migration list offered by the meta table in the name space of the naming agent, acquires and transmits sensor data according to the purpose and needs through the active rules, and directly executes the actions corresponding to the optional events(changed sensor data and/or time etc.). And then, we show the potential applicability of the active rule based mobile agent middleware in various active sensor networks through the interaction with the rule base system and context database system.
