Action Realization of Modular Robot Using Memory and Playback of Motion (동작기억 및 재생 기능을 이용한 모듈라 로봇의 다양한 동작 구현)

  • In recent years, robots have been actively used for children's creativity learning and play, but most robots have a stereotyped form and have a high dependency on the program, making it difficult to learn creativity and play. In order to compensate for these drawbacks, We have created a robot that can easily and reliably combine each other. The robot can memorize the desired operation and execute the memorized operation by using one button. Also, in case multiple modules are combined, pressing the button once on any module makes it possible to easily adjust the operation of all the combined modules. In order to verify the actual operation, two, three, and five modules are combined to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed structure and algorithm by implementing a gobbling motion and a walking robot. It is required to study intelligent modular robots that can control over the Internet by supplementing the wireless connection method.

Remote Temperature Control System using a Zigbee Communication (지그비 통신을 이용한 원격 온도제어 시스템)

  • In this paper, a remote control system capable of monitoring and controlling the temperature of a refrigerator in real time using the ZigBee communication technology is developed. The developed system provides 24-hour surveillance function including temperature maintenance and it is able to determine monitored data from a remote location and to change the setting of the temperature value. In case the value is out of the setting, it is designed for administrators to verify the problem and take action, sending alarms to management server and the emergency to a preset administrator via SMS. Applying this system to refrigerators storing commercial, medical, and experimental material, the real time status such as temperature and malfunction of refrigerator can be managed up to 16 SZM(Slave Zigbee Module) by only one MZM(Master Zigbee Module).

  • Prime movers in engine rooms inherently are much affected by the adjustment of their governors for the steady state and transient properties, consequently requiring that marine engineers shall be well familiar with the way to manage governor dials for normal operation. The hydro-mechanical governors basically have different control characteristics and adjustment parameters of stability from digital governors. The former include compensation mechanism using dash pot while the control algorithm of the latter is usually based on the PID action. This study is for configuring a simulation module to let trainees practice how to adjust dials for stability on hydraulic governors in the view that the practice by real governors and engines is time consuming and high cost for operation. The governor module includes the adjusting points such as speed set, speed droop, needle valve and compensation pointer with engine module of $2^{nd}$ order coupled. The results of simulation showed satisfactory responses as a training tool for the adjustment of control parameters.

Dynamic Hand Gesture Recognition Using CNN Model and FMM Neural Networks (CNN 모델과 FMM 신경망을 이용한 동적 수신호 인식 기법)

  • In this paper, we present a hybrid neural network model for dynamic hand gesture recognition. The model consists of two modules, feature extraction module and pattern classification module. We first propose a modified CNN(convolutional Neural Network) a pattern recognition model for the feature extraction module. Then we introduce a weighted fuzzy min-max(WFMM) neural network for the pattern classification module. The data representation proposed in this research is a spatiotemporal template which is based on the motion information of the target object. To minimize the influence caused by the spatial and temporal variation of the feature points, we extend the receptive field of the CNN model to a three-dimensional structure. We discuss the learning capability of the WFMM neural networks in which the weight concept is added to represent the frequency factor in training pattern set. The model can overcome the performance degradation which may be caused by the hyperbox contraction process of conventional FMM neural networks. From the experimental results of human action recognition and dynamic hand gesture recognition for remote-control electric home appliances, the validity of the proposed models is discussed.

  • Biped robot requires that an energy source and a control part should be installed on the body to realize active system. So, we choose the DC motor having high torque in compact size in this study. In the DC motor serve system, we choose power amplifier with analog configuration, developed the module combined the controller and the driver. We applied this module to robot actuator and studied the response characteristics in an action and a return. Main controller with serve system, loading PIC micro controller, can be load on the robot with light weight.

  • By development of a robot technology, personal robot is being developed very actively. Various infra-technologies are accumulated in hardware and software how by internal a lot of research and development efforts, and it is circumstance that actual commodity is announced. But, personal robot is applied to be acting near human, and takes charge of safety and connected directly a lot of works of home security, gas-leakage, fire-warning facilities, or/and etc. So personal robot must do safe and stable action even if any unexpected accidents are happened, important functions are always operated. In this paper, we are wished to show design structures for supporting fault-tolerant operation from our real-time robot middleware viewpoint. Personal robot, in being developed, was designed by module structure to do to interconnect and to interoperate among each module that is mutually implemented by each research facilities or company. Also, each modules can use appreciate network system that is fit for handling and communicating its data. To guarantee this, we have being developed a real-time network middleware, for especially personal robot. Recent our working is to add and to adjust some functions like connection management, distributed routing mechanism, remote object management, and making platform independent robot application execution environment with self-moving of robot application, for fault-tolerant personal robot.

  • The existing patient monitoring system when the patient want own information. The patient confirm information through the medical institution. But the patient monitoring system based on the U-Healthcare, the patient always confirms own information through the mobile device including rfid reader. The patient need RFID middleware design to provide wanting service when the RFID reader read patient's tag information. The RFID middleware is consisted of RFID module, ARM processor and RS-232 interface. The RFID module is used to be inputted user information and RS-232 interface pass information by RFID middleware. Also, This system is embodied by specific patient monitoring system using embedded exclusive use ARM processor. In this paper introduces concept and action principle of RFID middleware and embodied patient monitoring system that use Qt.

  • The central core of the Traffic Management System is an Incident Management System. Whole approach has been component-orientated, with a secondary emphasis being placed on the traffic characteristics at the sites. The first action taken during the development process was the selection of the required data for each components within the existing infrastructure of Algeria freeway system. After review and analysis of existing incident detection methodologies, Paramics was utilized to test the performance of APID, DELOS algorithms. The existing system of Algeria freeway was tested in a different configuration at different sections of freeway, thereby increasing the validity and scope of the overall findings. The incident detection module has been performed according to predefined system validation specifications. The Paramics simulation was done with the use of synchronous analysis, thereby providing a means for testing the incident detection module.

Method of Particle Contamination Control for Yield Enhancement in the Cleanroom (클린룸 제조공정에서 수율개선을 위한 입자오염제어 방법)

  • The practical studies on the method of particle contamination control for yield enhancement in the cleanroom were carried out. The method of the contamination control was proposed, which are composed of data collection, data analysis, improvement action, verification, and implement control. The partition check method and the composition analysis for data collection and data analysis were respectively used in the main board and the cellular phone module production lines. And these methods were evaluated by the variation of yield loss between before and after improvement action. In case that the partition check method was applied, the critical process step was selected and yield loss reduction through improvement actions was observed. While in case that the composition analysis was applied, the critical sources were selected and yield loss reduction through improvement actions was also investigated. From these results, it is concluded that the partition check and the composition analysis are effective solutions for particle contamination control in the cleanroom production lines.
