국방무기체계 획득사업의 혁신적 추진전략과 방법론 (Innovative Management Strategy and Methodologies for Acquisition Programs of the Defense Weapon System)

  • Under the fast technology changes and budget constraints, the organizations related to national defense face increased demands to develop innovative strategy and methodology to maximize performance with drastically reduced cost. In this context, the management of innovation and change in the defense acquisition area is vital to the Ministry of National Defense, related organizations and industries. In this paper, we discuss three comprehensive innovation strategies and methodologies for the defense acquisition area preparing for next-generation warfare; EVMS (earned value management system), PBL (performance based logistics) and SBA (simulation based acquisition). These collaborating innovative efforts enable us to tackle defense challenges for government and industries with a flexible and optimistic approach that maximizes productivity and performance with minimum cost.

IS-95역방향 링크에서 단일 적분 및 이중 적분 검색 방식의 성능 분석 (Performance evaluation of the single-dwell and double-dwell detection schemes in the IS-95 reverse link)

  • This paper considers the evaluation of the ecquistion performance for an accesschannel preamble based on a random access procedure of direct sequence code division multiple access(DS/CDMA) reverse link. The parallel acquistion technique that employs the single-well detection scheme and the multiple-dwell(double-dwell) detection scheme is mentioned. The acquisition performance for two detection schemes is compared in therms of the acquisition probability and the acquisition time. The parallel acquisition is done by a bank of N parallel I/Q noncoherent correlators. Expressions on the detection, false alarm, and miss probabilities of the single-dwell and multiple-dwell(double-well) detection schemes are derived for multiple H$_{1}$ cells and multipath Rayleight fading channel. comparing the single-dwell detection scheme with the multiple-dwell(double-dwell) detection scheme in the case of employing the parallel acquisition technique in the reverse link,the numerical results show that the single-dwell detection scheme deomonstrates a better performance.

  • 본 논문에서는 DS CDMA 시스템에서 다중안테나를 이용한 옹기획득 시스템을 제안하고 있다 기존의 다중안테나를 이용한 옹기획득 방식은 다중안테나 결항을 이용한 방법과 고정 다중빔 형성을 이용한 직렬동기획득방식 등이 있다. 그런데, 본 논문에서는 고정 다중빔 형성을 이용한 히이브리드 동기획득 방식을 제안하고 있다. 수치 해석 결과로는 다경로 Raylelgh 페이딩 채널에서 옹기획득시간 측면에서 두 방식에 대한 동기획득 성능을 비교하고 있다.

  • In this paper, we analyze the performance of double-dwell hybrid initial acquisition in a direct sequence ultra-wideband (DS-UWB) system via detection, miss, false alarm probabilities, and mean acquisition time. In the analysis, we consider the effect of the acquisition sequence as well as the deployment scenario of the abundant multipath components over small coverage of the piconet in the DS-UWB system. Based on the simulation, we obtain various performance measures for the mean acquisition time by varying parameters such as the total number of hypotheses to be searched, subgroup size, and dwell time. We thereupon suggest the optimum parameter set for the initial acquisition in the DS-UWB system.

  • This paper analyzes matched-filter acquistion performance of a direct-sequence spread-specturm multiple-access system in a Rayleigh fading channel. For an application of multiple access system, multiple access interference is considered in the performance analysis. A signal flow graph technique is used to derive mean acquisition time in terms of detection and false alarm probabilities. As aresult of performance analysis, it is shown that mean acquisition time increases as fading rate becomes faster andthe numbre of users increases, and it decreases as a matched-filter length becomes logner. The variation of parameter values hs much influence on acquisition performance as SNR/chip becomes smaller.

  • The previous acquisition method of GPS receiver for reference station adopts not only the coherent integration method but also the non-coherent integration method in order to enhance sensitivity under noisy environment. However, under noisy environment, the previous GPS signal acquisition method causes the non-coherent integration loss which is a major factor among losses that can be caused during GPS signal acquisition. The non-coherent integration loss also increases with the strength of the received noise. This paper has intention of analyzing the performance of the GPS signal acquisition method proposed to effectively enhance sensitivity of DGPS reference receiver under noisy environment. This paper presents that the proposed GPS signal acquisition method suppresses the non-coherent integration loss through post-processing simulation. Furthermore, with regard to the mean acquisition time, it is shown that the number of search cells of the proposed GPS signal acquisition method is much fewer than that of the previous GPS signal acquisition method.

  • 본 논문에서는 CDMA-MIMO 상향링크 시스템에서 프리엠블 탐색을 위한 MIMO 채널에서 코드 동기 획득 기법에 대해 연구한다. 다중 송신 및 수신 안테나가 빔형성을 위해서 사용된다. 송수신 빔형성 기반의 ML 코드 동기 획득 기술의 성능이 동기 획득 확률을 통하여 이론적으로 분석된다. MIMO 코드 동기 획득 시스템에서 동기 획득의 성능과 평균 동기 획득 시간을 평가한다. 다중 송신 안테나가 코드 동기 획득 시스템에 송신 빔 이득을 제공하고 그 결과로 빔형성 기반의 MIMO 시스템이 SIMO에 비교하여 더 우수한 동기 획득 성능을 얻을 수 있음을 보인다.

Packet Acquisition for a CDMA/TDD Packet Radio System

  • In this paper, an adaptive packet acquisition performance of a CDMA/TDD packet radio system is analyzed and simulated in a frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channel. The frequency-selective fading process is assumed to be WSSUS model which is typical for a satellite and a mobile radio communications. The performance is evaluated in terms of packet error probability. In this adaptive packet acquisition scheme, an auxiliary training sequence is placed within data packet to estimate time-varying channel state. From the simulation results, it is confirmed that the proposed acquisition scheme significantly improves packet error performance compared to the conventional fixed acquisition scheme, especially, for the case of low Doppler frequency. The analysis in this paper can be applied to the design of a CDMA/TDD packet radio system.

  • In this paper, we propose a fast code acquisition method that can reduce drastically the mean acquisition time of the direct sequence spread spectrum (DS-SS) system by using and integrated search and verification (ISV) scheme. The proposed method performs simultaneously the search and verification processes at every search cell, through storing sufficiently long signal samples enough to perform the verification process form the previously received samples. We analyze and acquisition performance in the case of Gaussian channel to evaluate theacquisition perfomrance of the proposed method. From the simple numericl analysis result, we have shown that the acquisition performance of the proposed method is better than that of the conventional serial search method, and the performance improvement becomes more prominent as the channel environment becomes degraded.
