The present paper focuses on the application of commercial acid dyes and wool reactive dyes to casein protein fabric. Nine acid dyes and six wool reactive dyes were compared their dyeing properties as well as color fastness. The exhaustion yields were higher than 80 % which dramatically increased at pH 3. Excellent wash fastness was obtained with metal-complex acid and wool reactive dyes. Both light and rubbing fastness were overall good, but perspiration fastness was comparatively poor.
In order to make a supermicrofiber fabric with PET/co-PET sea-island type filament fiber, the optimum conditions of dissolution of co-PET composite filament fiber was examined. The data set was made at various organic acid concentration and steam temperature with treated time as a main variable. At the same time, the microstructure changes by organic acid treatment of sea-island type PET supermicrofibers were monitored by thermal analysis morphology, DSC thermgrams and SEM images. Weight reduction behavior of supermicrofibers by caustic treatment was investigated in a comparative method. The termination of dissolution was also confirmed using DSC thermgrams and SEM images.

The changes on shrinkage, dyeability, antimicrobial activities and other physical properties of wool fabrics by chitosan treatment were investigated. A acid dye, a basic dye and natural artemisia were used for dyeing of wool fabrics. For Antimicrobial test of wool fabrics, S.Aureus was used. As the results, The wool fabrics treated with chitosan showed a marked decrease in shrinkage. Dyeability increased slightly as concentration of chitosan treatment increased, Dyeability of acid dye was the highest than other dyes. On the other hand, the dyeability of basic dye on chitosan treated fabrics was lower than untreated fabrics. Reduction rates of colony of chitosan-treated wool fabrics showed from 64.8% to 85.24% as chitosan concentration increased. Reduction rates of colony of the chitosan-treated fabrics decreased by dyeing with acid and basic dye. But increased by retreating with chitosan. Fabrics dyeing with atremisia showed above 90% reduction rate against S.Aureus on all chitosan concentrations. The Tensile properties of chitosan-treated fabrics showed little decrease. The moisture regain and the air permeability was decreased on chitosan concentration on 0.1% but recovered as chitosan concentration increased. The warmth retention was increased a little by chitosan treatment. The drapeability became hard as chitosan concentration increased.
In one bath dyeing system of silk/cellulose acetate fiber blend fabric with acid /disperse dyes, adsorption behavior of acid dyes and disperse dyes on silk and cellulose acetate fabrics were examined. In the dyeing of cellulose acetate with C. I. Disperse Red 19(Red 19) and C. I. Disperse Red 60(Red 60) at 8$0^{\circ}C$ and 10$0^{\circ}C$, dye uptake with Red 19 was higher than that with Red 60. When the silk/cellulose acetate dyed with Red 19 and Red 60 at 10$0^{\circ}C$, dye uptake on cellulose acetate was influenced by affinity of the dye to the silk fabric dyed together. When the silk/cellulose acetate dyed with Blue 80/Red 19 and Blue 80/Red 60 at 10$0^{\circ}C$, color of cellulose acetate dyed with Red 19 and Red 60 was not influenced by Blue 80 but silk dyed with Blue 80 was influenced by Red 19 and Red 60. Interrelation of K/S value and Munsell value was scarcely any but showed the change tendency of K/S value.

Recently, it has been reported that chemical hair coloring can cause allergic reactions, the toxicity issue of chemical hair color was issued. Therefore, there is an increasing interest in the hair coloration technique using non-toxic and bio-compatible hair color gotten from natural resource. In this study, the possibility using fermented Indigo as natural hair coloring agent was investigated. Bleached hair samples were dyed using Indigo, and the effect of dyeing frequency, the physical change after dyeing, color, surface and cross-section characteristics, and tensile property were also studied. In addition, the protection property of cationic detergent finishing on damaged hair samples were also studied. The following conclusions are made; 1. While bleached hair samples with low value showed the negligible effect of repeated dyeing, bleached hair samples with high value showed the good effect of repeated dyeing. 2. Hair sample dyed with Indigo showed a high light-fastness, however, tensile strength and elongation showed very low values (high damage on hair sample). 3. Cationic detergent finishing did not affect on the colorfastness because of decoloration after dyeing, however, it increased the smoothness of hair sample, and therefore, can use as protectant of damaged hair. 4. Hair scale was damaged after dyeing. It seemed that the alkali, potassium carbonate, increased pH of dyeing bath to 11, as a result, the hair was swollen, weaken, and dissolved on the prolonged dyeing time. Dyed hair sample became stiff and fine. 5. The color difference was 4.62 (a high fastness value) in the test of sunlight exposure, shampoo, cationic detergent finishing, and acid perspiration fastness.

Dyeability and colorfastness of the blended knits of cotton/rayon (40/60; C/R) and wool/tencel (10/90; W/T) are examined using the natural dyestuff ($Pinux^{TM}$) manufactured from Pinus radiata pine bark extract. In addition, pre-treatments (such as bleaching, mercerization and cationization) are performed to improve dyeability and colorfastness. The $Pinux^{TM}$ powder dyestuffs produced by Pinux Co., Ltd. are used as dyestuffs and their properties are examined for dyeing concentration (0.5-2% (owb)), dyeing time (30-120 minutes) and dyeing temperature (30-$90^{\circ}C$). Dyeability is evaluated with K/S value at 400nm, which is the maximum absorption wavelength for $Pinux^{TM}$. The results show the dyeability of W/T sample containing protein fiber with $Pinux^{TM}$ is superior to all cellulose fiber C/R. A concentration of dyestuff greater than 1.5% (owb), dyeing time 120 minutes and dyeing temperature of $90^{\circ}C$ are the most optimized conditions. It shows that the dyeability of C/R and W/T samples are high in the condition of an acid-dyeing bath and that dyeability highly declined in alkaline bath due to the instability of the proanthocyanidin pigment. After analyzing the effect of bleaching, mercerizing and cationizing (as pre-treatments on dyeability) it was concluded that the dyeability of the C/R sample was enhanced by mercerization but no significant effect by cationization. However, the simultaneous treatment of cationizing and dyeing resulted in far improved dyeability compared to dyeing after cationizing pre-treatment. As for the W/T sample, the effect of cationization was more prominent than the C/R sample. Colorfastness to color changes in the control W/T sample was higher than that of C/R's level 1-2, and it increased to Level 2 when bleaching pre-treatment was given and when a simultaneous cationizing treatment was adopted to the dyeing process. Colorfastness to light in W/T control sample resulted in Level 3 and further increased to an excellent Level of 4 with bleaching and simultaneous cationizing during dyeing process.

This study was performed to investigate the physical and chemical properties of the 5 kinds of fabrics dyed with persimmon juice and undyed fabrics. The difference between dyed and undyed fabrics was checked experimentally. Obtained results are as follows. 1. Bending length and flex stiffness were increased after dyeing, and tensile strength of waif i3l fabrics except Ramie was also increased. 2. Abrasion resistance was improved in Ramie and Hemp after dyeing but the rest of fabrics were decreased. 3. Crease resistance of dyed fabrics was roughly worse than that of undyed fabrics. 4. Air permeability remarkably increased after dyeing and this fact estabilished that the traditional Gal-01 was cool clothing. 5. Water repellency in Cotton 1 and Polyester rises but the rest of fabrics were not changed. Therefore it is found that this repellency related to the their fabric counts. 6. Blocking effect of UV light and visible ray was increased in all dyed fabrics. Especially dyed Cotton 1 and Polyester blocked UV light almost perfectly. 7. The colorfastness to soaping and sunlight was proved to less than 3 grade in all fabrics after dyeing. It indicates that this colorfastness became worse owing to dyeing. 8. The colorfastness to dry cleaning and water was decided to more than 3 grade in all fabrics. 9. The colorfastness of the dyed fabrics to sweat after exposing to man-made acid sweat solution was good so that was decided above 3 grade. However after exposing to man-made alkalic sweat solution it became worse owing to dyeing.
Blended knit with two or more fiber has various dyeing characteristics depending on dyeing method because of different material properties of them. In this paper, newly developed blended knit was used. It was composed by Acrylate fiber and Dyeable polypropylene(DPP) fiber. As result of build-up dyeing test, acid dyes and disperse dyes respectively had good dyeabilities on 1% o.w.f. with Acrylate fiber and DPP fiber. Compatibility of trichromatic of disperse dyes was generally good for most dyes investigated and their critical absorption range were between $120^{\circ}C$ and $130^{\circ}C$. As depending on dyeing methods, there were many differences in dyeability. It was confirmed that 1-bath-1-step dyeing was most suitable when considering dye exhaustion yield and levelling property. Wash, rubbing and light fastness of knits were generally good in most dyes.
Cationic dyeable polyester(CDP) was produced through melt blending of cationic chips having $2mol\%$ of sodium salt of dimethyl ester of 5-sulfoisophthalic acid(DMS salt) and normal polyester chips in different proportions to obtain yarns having varying amount of comonomer in the fiber. The modified polyesters showed increased moisture regain, decreased viscosity, lower softening point and improved antistatic characteristics, according to the amount of modifier. In dyeing at $100^{\circ}C$ the dyeing rate of cationic dyes with CDP fiber increased slowly than that of disperse dyes. In dyeing at $120^{\circ}C$ cationic dyes reached to equilibrium at 30min and disperse dyes at 10min. Cationic dyes in dyeing of CDP fabric have a better wash fastness compared with disperse dyes, also rubbing fastness of cationic dyes is better than that of disperse dyes. The light fastness of CDP fabric for cationic and disperse dyes is not good. The fastness of 75d/36f CDP fabric is higher than 75d/72f fabric. Solvent wicking fastness of CDP with cationic dyes is better than that of disperse dyes.
The purpose of this study is to define optimal conditions for wool blend fabric dyeing using Rhus verniciflua extract. K/S value, surface color change, the fastness to light, fastness to dry-cleaning, metal mordanting effects and antimicrobial activities were investigated. The results were summarized as follows; As the storage time of Rhus verniciflua stokes dyeing solution was longer, K/S was improved. K/S value showed the highest one when dyeing temperature and time were at 100oC and 60 minutes respectively. As for the changes of pH values of the dyeing solution, fabric was dyed well with the pH value of acid or neutral. K/S value recorded the highest at pH6 and the lowest at pH10. Fastness to light showed the unmordanted fabric is 2.84, and Fe is 1.69 on color difference. Antibacterial activities of Rhus verniciflua dyeing solution recorded high figures in both dyed fabric with unmordanted and dyed fabric with mordanting.
