A Comparison of the Education Homepage By the Web Accessibility Guidelines (웹 접근성 지침을 통한 교육용 홈페이지의 비교 분석)

  • 최근 인터넷 환경은 컴퓨터를 이용한 윈도우즈의 환경에서 핸드폰, PDA 등의 모바일 기기를 이용한 다양한 형태로 확산되고 있다. 이로 인해 시각, 청각 장애자나 컴퓨터 초보자도 쉽게 인터넷에 접근할 수 있는 웹 접근성 향상이 많은 분야에서 이루어지고 있다. 이 논문에서는 KADO-WAH 평가도구를 이용하여 교육 관련 기관의 홈페이지를 평가하고 이들 홈페이지의 웹 접근성 지침 준수 여부를 비교 분석한다. 이 논문에서는 교육 관련기관인 대도시 교육청 홈페이지와 부산시 교육청 산하 교육구청의 홈페이지, 그리고 부산시내의 여러 고등학교 홈페이지에 대하여 웹 접근성 지침 준수 여부를 평가하고 비교 분석한다. 그 결과 학부모나 교육 관련 이해 당사자 누구라도 쉽게 교육용 웹사이트에 접근하고 이용할 수 있게 하는데 이 연구의 목적이 있다.

A Comparative Study on the Old's and the Young's Depth Perception for Universal Design (유니버설 디자인을 위한 청년층과 노인층의 깊이인식에 대한 비교연구)

  • In this study, we analyzed the old`s characteristics for depth perception in comparison with the young`s as a basic study for universal design in field of products or facilities. Twenty three of the old and twenty two of the young had participated and the depth perception apparatus was used in this experiment. Gender, viewing distance, and age were considered as factors and the differences of depth perception were analyzed for each experimental condition. In the result, a significant difference was not detected on gender, but significant differences were detected on age and viewing distance. That is, we can see that the old is remarkably worse than the young on depth perception task. Therefore, it means that these characteristics have to be absolutely considered in user interface design to improve the old`s accessibility for products or facilities.

A Study on Spatial Characteristics of Microtopography of Stream by Topographic Names (지형호칭에 의한 하천 미지형경관의 공간특성에 관한 연구)

  • In order to understand the spatial forms of stream, this study aimed to typify stream microtopography through the collection of common names of topography determined by fishermen and to describe stream landscapes by using these typology. The seventeen stream microtopography names were sorted out and divided into three types : the streamside space which includes Kaeul-jari, Hapsu-mori, Cholpyok-jidae, Kyekok-jidae and Korpuri, stream plate which includes Youl, Mulgol, So and Ungdongi, and streambed materials which includes Ampan-jidae, Pawi-jidae, Dolpat-jidae, Chagal-jidae, Chanchgal-jidae, Moraetop, Kamtang-padak and Suchodae. The spatial characteristics of stream microtopography landscape were described according to the comparison of landform, the support of fishing, accessibility, viewpoint and eye-catching degree. The tipification of stream microtopography and their symbolization will offer a rich vocabulary to describe diverse spatial forms of stream.

Always Learning from Each Other: Cultural Identity Development in Two Generations of Korean Immigrant Fathers

  • Using a life course framework, we compare and contrast the processes of acculturation for first- and second-generation Korean immigrant fathers in the United States. In-depth life history interviews were conducted with 20 first-generation and 15 second-generation fathers in the Midwest. With a modified grounded theory approach of constant comparison, we first explored how these fathers developed their identities in the midst of cultural and social transitions. These men's identity construction was shaped by socio-economic statuses and accessibility to cultural resources, with a marked shift over time toward integration of Korean and American identities. We then examined how these identities informed the men's socialization of their children, and the children's socialization of their parents.

A Study on Unmanned Post Office Service Model for the Disabled Person (무인우체국 장애인 서비스 모델 수립에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, despite the presence of a large number of people with disabilities, facilities and services for the disabled are insufficient in comparison with the advanced countries. Especially, unmanned facilities and devices are not available for disabled people without help. As interest in disabled people increased, the convenient facilities for the disabled person should be legally installed in the public places. Moreover, social consensus formation and technical approaches are being actively pursued. In this paper, we propose a five-step scenario to use an unmanned post office. Based on the proposed scenario, we present the method to improve the accessibility of the user interface of the unmanned facilities. And we present a plan for establishing the short- and medium-term service models. This plan is expected to be highly practicable because it reflects the current situations of Korea Post and analysis result of the domestic and oversea cases.

  • This paper shows the procedure to decide an optimal design principle for improving the disassemblability with considering of disassembly conditions. On the bssis of the disassembly mechanism of products and the structure of parts and subassembly, the disassemblability is classified into four categories: graspability, accessibility, transmission of disassembly power and handling. The weighting values of the influential factors are calculated by the method of AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). The disassemblability is evaluated quantitatively. We established some score tables for the evaluation. Using these score tables, several principles for higher disassemblability in accordance with work conditions can be decided. An optimal design principle can be found by the comparison with the total scores of some disassembly conditions.

  • This paper is concerned with development of digital assembly cell. Automotive industries, try to find out new welding technologies to replace the existing spot welding which is not appropriate anymore. Because of many advantages like good accessibility, welding quality and fast welding speed, laser welding seems the most appropriate solution for automobile manufactures. To apply this technology to welding of car body, experiments must be conducted according to material, geometry and layer in welding area. Based on the data of these experiments, the laser welding process and the quality of stitches are identified. And then, the comparison between the requirements of welding and the potential of equipments allows selecting the best equipments. By using the digital manufacturing, the configurations of laser welding cell are carried out. After all, the optimal laser welding cell is chosen by the evaluation of alternative cells with technical and organizational criteria.

SMARTLITE: A Web-based Product Development System for Optical Components of Automobiles (스마트라이트: 웹기반 자동차 광학부품 개발 시스템)

  • For the development of automobile lighting components, various designers, developers and manufacturing personnel are involved, each group needing different software tools. In this Smartlite project, several software tools were developed far product development of the lighting components and then tested using two different user interfaces (UIs); the first was based on a commercial CAD system (SDRCI-DEAS) and the second was based on a web browser. The specific focus of this study was a comparison between the new web-based UIs, and the UIs on commercial CAD systems. The usability data have been collected from the users at Visteon and showed that the web-based UIs provided comparable functionality with the CAD-based UIs in terms of performance and usefulness. For the criteria of accessibility, the web-based tools out-performed the CAD-based tools.

Construction of High-Speed Railway Based Living Zone Considering High-order Service Accessibility: focused on comparison between Chungcheong, Yeongnam, Honam and Gangwon Region (고차 서비스 접근성을 고려한 고속철도 연계형 생활권 구축에 관한 연구 -충청권, 영남권, 호남권, 강원권 비교를 중심으로-)

  • In a situation where population decline is intensifying, the decline of local mid-small sized cities is emerging as a social problem. The decline will increase the difficulty of supplying demand-based living services. Therefore, increasing accessibility to living services is important for quality of life. With this background, the purpose of this study is to derive living zones that can use high-order services in metropolitan cities through high-speed railway. To this end, the behaviors of residents in mid-small sized cities were investigated through a questionnaire, and living zones and vulnerable areas were derived through a GIS analysis. The results of the study are summarized as follows. First, most of the residents had experience using cultural, medical, shopping, and educational services in metropolitan cities. Second, the time required to visit a metropolitan city for the use of higher-order services was about 2 hours, and the desired time was about 50 minutes. Third, when accessibility is improved, the willingness to use the higher-order service of the metropolitan city is high. Fourth, many regions have been derived as living zones where services of metropolitan cities can be used through high-speed rail. Lastly, the major vulnerable areas were found to be the northern area of the Gangwon region, the northern area of the Yeongnam region, the west coast of Chungnam, and the border area of Jeonnam and Gyeongnam.

The Dynamic Effects of Subway Network Expansion on Housing Rental Prices Using a Modified Repeat Sales Model (수도권 지하철 네트워크 확장이 아파트 월세 가격에 미치는 영향 분석 - 수정반복매매모형을 중심으로 -)

  • Continuous subway line expansion over the years in Seoul metropolitan area has contributed to improved accessibility to public transport. Since public transport accessibility has a significant impact on housing decisions, quantitative analysis of correlation between housing prices and public transport accessibility is regarded as one of the most important factors for planning better housing policies. This study defines the reduction of traveling time resulted from the construction of new metro stations despite them not being the closest stations as 'Network Expansion Effect', and seeks to understand how the Network Expansion Effect impacts on housing prices. The study analyzes monthly rent data converted from upfront lump sum deposit, so called Jeonse in Korea, from 2012 to 2018, through 'A Modified Repeat Sales Model.' As a result, the effect of 'Network Expansion' on rental prices in Seoul has stronger during the period of 2017 to 2018 than the base period of 2012 to 2014, which suggests the 'Network Expansion' has a meaningful effect on rent. In addition, in comparison between the most and the least affected group of apartments by 'Network Expansion Effect', the most affected group has more price increase than the least affected group. These findings also indicate that different levels of 'Network Expansion Effect' have various influences on the value of residential real estate properties.
