This paper presents new differential methods for computing the combined and single dynamic stability derivatives of flight vehicle. Based on rigid dynamic mesh technique, the combined dynamic stability derivative can be achieved by imposing the aircraft pitching to the same angle of attack with two different pitching angular velocities and also translating it to the same additional angle of attack with two different rates of angle of attack. As a result, the acceleration derivative is identified. Moreover, the rotating reference frame is adopted to calculate the rotary derivatives when simulating the steady pull-up with different pitching angular velocities. Two configurations, the Hyper Ballistic Shape (HBS) and Finner missile model, are considered as evaluations and results of all the cases agree well with reference or experiment data. Compared to traditional ones, the new differential methods are of high efficiency and accuracy, and potential to be extended to the simulation of combined and single stability derivatives of directional and lateral.

In the re-entry control system, errors apt to induce because the time derivative of drag acceleration is analytically estimated. Still more, the difficulty of estimation of the exact drag coefficient in hypersonic velocity and the nun-reality of the scale height cause a steady-state drag error. This paper proposes the additional method of the disturbance observer. This reduces the steady-state drag error according to the following series. First, this method estimates a error in drag acceleration time derivative by the analytic calculation and then creates the new drag acceleration time derivative using the estimated error. The performance of the re-entry control system is verified about 32 reference trajectories.
In this paper, a method of auto-tuning of PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) and PIDA (Proportional-Integral-Derivative-Acceleration) controllers is proposed that can be applied to a time-delayed second order model. The proposed identification method is based on step responses, but it can be easily automated rising digital controller unlike the existing graphical identification methods. We provide a ways to yield parameter identifications which is independent to initial values of the plants. The tuning rule is based on the pole-placement strategy and is formulated so that it can be implemented using a digital controller with ease.
In this study, an effective estimation method of wheel acceleration is presented. The wheel acceleration is mainly used in the ABS(anti-lick brake system) and the TCS(traction control system). The wheel acceleration is a derivative term of the wheel speed which is generally measured by the wheel speed sensors. The results of a simple differentiation of the signal and an observation of the signal by Kalman filter show that Kalman filter has better performance than the simple differentiation. The differentiated sine signal which is contaminated with random noise shows a rugged signal compared with the signal which is filtered by the Kalman filter. The covariance of the differentiated signal is higher than that of the Kalman-filtered signal, too. The presented Kalman filter technique shows an effective way of solution to get the estimated wheel acceleration value which is sufficient to be applied to ABS or TCS control algorithms.
In this study, we try to estimate vascular compliance for management vascular disease. Because It is known the vascular compliance represents the state of the blood vessels. In general, the vascular compliance is estimated using an acceleration photoplethymogram from measured by photoplethymogram-based. The acceleration photoplethymogram is come from second derivative of photoplethymogram. By using the acceleration photoplethymogram, we can estimating vascular compliance, vascular age, vascular state. In this study, for measuring acceleration photoplethymogram we have developed a measurement device having analog filters. It has the advantage of miniaturization, low-power because it is simpler than digital filters. Using the developed device, we have estimated vascular compliance and tested the reliability of our device compare with conventional device having digital filters. As a result.
In this paper, different feedback control strategies are presented for active seismic control using proportional-integral-derivative (PID) type controllers. The parameters of PID controller are found by using an numerical algorithm considering time delay, maximum allowed control force and time domain analyses of shear buildings under different earthquake excitations. The numerical algorithm scans combinations of different controller parameters such as proportional gain ($K_p$), integral time ($T_i$) and derivative time ($T_d$) in order to minimize a defined response of the structure. The controllers for displacement, velocity and acceleration feedback control strategies are tuned for structures with active control at the first story and all stories. The performance and robustness of different feedback controls on time and frequency responses of structures are evaluated. All feedback controls are generally robust for the changing properties of the structure, but acceleration feedback control is the best one for efficiency and stability of control system.
This paper presents the acceleration and deceleration control of free-form surfaces. A rapid variation of acceleration (or Deceleration) drives the system into a machine shock, resulting in the inaccuracy of the path control of the NURBS curve. The pattern of acceleration control can be established using the curvature of the NURBS curve. The curvature can be easily calculated from the first and second derivative of the NURBS curve used in Taylor's expansion for NURBS interpolation. However, the derivatives are not used in the recursive method for NURBS interpolation. Hence, we attempted the difference-derivatives for calculating the NURBS curvature. Both, Taylor's expansion and the recursive method, are used jointly for controlling the acceleration in the same interpolation algorithm.
This paper presents a system identification (SI) scheme in time domain using measured acceleration data. The error function is defined as the time integral of the least squared errors between the measured acceleration and the calculated acceleration by a mathematical model. Damping parameters as well as stiffness properties of a structure are considered as system parameters. The structural damping is modeled by the Rayleigh damping. A new regularization function defined by the L1-norm of the first derivative of system parameters with respect to time is proposed to alleviate the ill-posed characteristics of inverse problems and to accommodate discontinuities of system parameters in time. The time window concept is proposed to trace variation of system parameters in time. Numerical simulation study is performed through a two-span continuous truss subject to ground motion.
This paper presents the acceleration optimization of a high-speed LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) transfer system for the minimization of vibration. To reduce vibration is one of key requirements for the dynamic control of a high-speed LCD transfer system. In this paper, the concept of finite jerk (the first derivative of acceleration) has been introduced for realizing input acceleration. The profile of finite jerk has been optimized using a genetic algorithm so that vibration effect can be minimized. In order to incorporate a genetic algorithm, the dynamic model of a LCD transfer system which is realized by using the ADAMS software has been linked to the simulation system constructed by the MATLAB. The simulation results illustrated that the duration of finite jerk can be optimized so as to minimize the magnitude of vibration. It has been also shown that the acceleration optimization with finite jerk can make the high-speed motion of a LCD transfer system result in low vibration, compared with the conventional motion control with trapezoidal velocity profile.
This paper presents an experimental study for optimizing the acceleration of AC servomotor using finite jerk (the first derivative of acceleration). The acceleration optimization with finite jerk aims at generating the smooth velocity profile of AC servomotor by experimentally minimizing vibration resulted from the initial friction of servomotor. The stick-slip motion of AC servomotor induced by initial friction can result in the positional errors that are not good for high-precision devices such as the assembly robot arms to be used in a 300mm wafer or a LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) stocker system. In this paper, experiments were made by using a PM (Permanent Magnet) type AC servomotor with MMC(R) (Multi Motion Controller) programmed in Visual C++(R). The experiments have been performed for finding the optimal duration time of finite jerk in terms of the minimization of vibration displacements when both the magnitude of velocity and the allowable acceleration are given. We have compared the proposed control with the conventional control with trapezoidal velocity profile by measuring vibration displacements. The effectiveness of the proposed control has been verified in that the experimental results showed the decrease of vibration displacement by about 24%.
