XLPE 절연물내의 전기트리 진전 시 PD 검출 및 특성분석 (PD Detection and Analysis of Electrical Treeing Progress into XLPE Insulator)

  • Solid insulation exposed to voltage is degraded by electrical tree process. And the degradation of the insulation is accelerated by voltage application. For this experimental, specimen of e1ectrical tree model is made by XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene). And the size of the specimen is $7*5*7\;mm^3$. Distance of need1e and plane is 2 mm. Voltages applied for acceleration test are 12 kV to 15 kV. And distribution characteristic of degraded stage is studied too. As a PD detecting and data process, discharge data acquire from PD detecting system (Biddle instrument). The system presents statistical distribution as phase resolved. Moreover the processing time of electrical tree is recorded to know the speed of degradation according to voltage.

산업용 청소기 모터의 가속수명시험 (Accelerated Life Test of Industrial Cleaner Motor)

  • Purpose: In this study, the life of the motor is investigated by performing the accelerated life test with the brush wear of the industrial cleaner motor as the main failure mode. Methods: The accelerating stress factor of the accelerated life test is a voltage, which can increase the number of revolutions of the motor to accelerate the brush wear due to the friction between the brush and the commutator. Also, the accelerating stress level was determined after determining the maximum allowable level of the voltage through the preliminary test. Results: The motor failure time at each accelerating stress level was predicted by regression analysis with brush wear length as performance degradation data. The main failure mode, which is brush wear, of the motor was reproduced by this test. The shape parameter of the Weibull distribution was confirmed to be the same statistically at all accelerating stress levels by the likelihood ratio test. Conclusion: The life of the motor was investigated by performing the accelerated life test with the brush wear of the industrial cleaner motor as the main failure mode. Through the accelerating test method of the cleaner motor, various life expectancy and life expectancy of the acceleration factor are predicted.

  • This paper presents the single objective design optimization of plate-fin heat sink equipped with fan cooling system using Genetic Algorithm. The proper heat sink and fan model are selected based on the previous studies. And the thermal resistance of heat sinks and fan efficiency during operation are calculated according to specific design parameters. The objective function is combination of thermal resistance and fan efficiency which have been taken to measure the performance of the heat sink. And Decision making procedure is suggested considering life time of semiconductor and Fan Operating cost. And also Analytical Model used for optimization is validated by Fluent, Ansys 13.0 and this model give a quite reasonable and reliable design.

가속수명시험 자료에 감마 과정 모델을 적용한 저장 수명 예측 기법 연구 (A Study on the Storage Life Estimation Method for Applying Gamma Process Model to Accelerated Life Test Data)

  • 추진장약의 저장 기간에 따른 안정제 함량의 저하에 관하여 가속수명시험 자료를 활용한 수명 예측 기법을 제시하였다. 결정론적 가속수명시험 및 저장분석 시험자료를 단순회귀분석으로 계산한 수명 예측값은 상태 분포와 수명 분포를 표현할 수 없다. 기존의 연구에서 감마분포를 이용하여 저장분석 시험자료에 대한 상태 분포 및 수명 분포를 보여주고 기대 수명을 계산하는 방법이 제시되었으나, 양산 초기 실제 자료를 수집하는 것이 불가능한 한계를 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서 제시된 예측 방법에 의한 기대 수명은 기존의 연구와 유사한 값을 보이며 상태 분포와 수명 분포를 설명할 수 있고, 유도무기 추진기관의 추진제 또는 부품류의 노화와 관련한 수명 주기 관리에도 활용할 수 있다.

Kinetic Study of the Visible Light-Induced Sonophotocatalytic Degradation of MB Solution in the Presence of Fe/TiO2-MWCNT Catalyst

  • In order to effective degradation of organic dye both under visible light or ultrasonic irradiation, the MWCNTs (multiwalled carbon nanotube) deposited with Fe and $TiO_2$ were prepared by a modified sol-gel method. The Fe/$TiO_2$-MWCNT catalyst was characterized by surface area of BET, scanning electron microscope (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) and ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) spectroscopy. The low intensity visible light and low power ultrasound was as an irradiation source and the methylene blue (MB) was choose as the model organic dye. Then degradation experiments were carried out in present of undoped $TiO_2$, Fe/$TiO_2$ and Fe/$TiO_2$-MWCNT catalysts. Through the degradation of MB solution, the results showed the feasible and potential use of Fe/$TiO_2$-MWCNT catalyst under visible light and ultrasonic irradiation due to the enhanced formation of reactive radicals as well as the possible visible light and the increase of ultrasound-induced active surface area of the catalyst. After addition of $H_2O_2$, the MB degradation rates have been accelerated, especially with Fe/$TiO_2$-MWCNT catalyst, in case of that the photo-Fenton reaction occurred. The sonophotocatalysis was always faster than the respective individual processes due to the more formation of reactive radicals as well as the increase of the active surface area of Fe/$TiO_2$-MWCNT catalyst.

Prediction of tensile strength degradation of corroded steel based on in-situ pitting evolution

  • Steel is becoming increasingly popular due to its high strength, excellent ductility, great assembly performance, and recyclability. In reality, steel structures serving for a long time in atmospheric, industrial, and marine environments inevitably suffer from corrosion, which significantly decreases the durability and the service life with the exposure time. For the mechanical properties of corroded steel, experimental studies are mainly conducted. The existing numerical analyses only evaluate the mechanical properties based on corroded morphology at the isolated time-in-point, ignoring that this morphology varies continuously with corrosion time. To solve this problem, the relationships between pit depth expectation, standard deviation, and corrosion time are initially constructed based on a large amount of wet-dry cyclic accelerated test data. Successively, based on that, an in-situ pitting evolution method for evaluating the residual tensile strength of corroded steel is proposed. To verify the method, 20 repeated simulations of mass loss rates and mechanical properties are adopted against the test results. Then, numerical analyses are conducted on 135 models of corrosion pits with different aspect ratios and uneven corrosion degree on two corroded surfaces. Results show that the power function with exponents of 1.483 and 1.091 can well describe the increase in pit depth expectation and standard deviation with corrosion time, respectively. The effect of the commonly used pit aspect ratios of 0.10-0.25 on yield strength and ultimate strength is negligible. Besides, pit number ratio α equating to 0.6 is the critical value for the strength degradation. When α is less than 0.6, the pit number increases with α, accelerating the degradation of strength. Otherwise, the strength degradation is weakened. In addition, a power function model is adopted to characterize the degradation of yield strength and ultimate strength with corrosion time, which is revised by initial steel plate thickness.

Quasi-static test of the precast-concrete pile foundation for railway bridge construction

  • Precast concrete elements in accelerated bridge construction (ABC) extends from superstructure to substructure, precast pile foundation has proven a benefit for regions with fragile ecological environment and adverse geological condition. There is still a lack of knowledge of the seismic behavior and performance of the precast pile foundation. In this study, a 1/8 scaled model of precast pile foundation with elevated cap is fabricated for quasi-static test. The failure mechanism and responses of the precast pile-soil interaction system are analyzed. It is shown that damage occurs primarily in precast pile-soil interaction system and the bridge pier keeps elastic state because of its relatively large cross-section designed for railways. The vulnerable part of the precast pile with elevated cap is located at the embedded section, but no plastic hinge forms along the pile depth under cyclic loading. Hysteretic curves show no significant strength degradation but obvious stiffness degradation throughout the loading process. The energy dissipation capacity of the precast pile-soil interaction system is discussed by using index of the equivalent viscous damping ratio. It can be found that the energy dissipation capacity decreases with the increase of loading displacement due to the unyielding pile reinforcements and potential pile uplift. It is expected to promote the use of precast pile foundation in accelerated bridge construction (ABC) of railways designed in seismic regions.

선형저밀도 폴리에틸렌 튜빙의 파손 메커니즘과 장기 정수압 거동 (Failure Mechanism and Long-Term Hydrostatic Behavior of Linear Low Density Polyethylene Tubing)

  • 정수압 상태의 선형저밀도 폴리에틸렌 튜빙의 파손 메커니즘과 파손 모폴로지를 연구하였다. 비디오현미경과 주사전자현미경을 이용한 관찰 결과, 선형저밀도 폴리에틸렌 튜빙의 파손모드는 내면에서 외면으로 진전되는 크랙을 수반하는 취성파괴임을 확인하였다. 또한 산화유발시간과 적외선분광분석을 통하여, 파손된 선형저밀도 플리에틸렌 튜빙의 단면상에 열화에 의한 발열 피크와 카르보닐 피크의 증가를 관찰하였다. 열 가속에 의한 음력과 수명특성 사이의 관계를 고려한 선형저밀도 폴리에틸렌 튜빙의 가속수명시험법 및 시험장치를 개발하였다. 선형저밀도 폴리에틸렌 튜빙의 장기 정수압 상태의 수명을 예측하기 위해 아레니우스 모델과 와이블 분포를 적용한 통계학적 기법을 도입하였다. 그 결과, 사용온도 $25^{\circ}C$에서의 선형저밀도 폴리에틸렌 튜빙의 장기수명을 평가/분석하였다.

사각 감육을 고려한 중수로 공급자관 파열압력 평가 (Evaluation of the Burst Pressure for Rectangular Wall-thinning of CANDU Feeder Pipe)

  • The flow accelerated corrosion (FAC) is one of significant aging and degradation mechanism and can affect structural integrity of CANDU feeder pipes. Pipe burst can occur under normal operation pressure (min. 10 MPa) if wall-thinning of the feeder pipe due to FAC is accumulated. Previous studies considered simple shapes of feeder pipe with local wall-thinning in order to conservatively assess structural integrity of wall-thinned feeder pipe. In this paper, a new FE model is developed, having an actual shape of the feeder pipe (double bent) as well as the actual wall-thinning shape and location based on the in-service inspection result. Then, the burst pressure assessment of the wall-thinned feeder pipe is performed using lower bound limit load analysis considering elastic-perfectly plastic material. In addition, an improved formulation to predict the burst pressure of the wall-thinned feeder pipe is presented and the safety margin is compared with an existing assessment method.
