광양만 잘피밭에 서식하는 어류의 종조성 및 계절 변동 (Species Composition and Seasonal Variations of Fishes in Eelgrass (Zostera marina) Bed in Kwangyang Bay)

  • 광양만 잘피밭에 서식하는 어류의 종조성 및 계절 변동을 조사하기 위해 1994년 1월부터 1994년 12월까지 소형 trawl을 이용하여 대도 주변 잘피밭에서 어류를 매월 채집하였다. 조사기간 동안 어류는 총 57종이 채집되었다. 실고기(Syngnathus schlegeli), 베도라치(Pholis nebulosa), 가시망둑(Pseudoblennius cottoides), 주둥치(Leiognathus nuchalis), 볼락(Sebastes inermis), 날개망둑(Favonigobius gymnauchen) 등이 많이 채집되었는데, 이들은 채집된 총 개체수의 69.9%를 차지하였다. 그 다음으로는 줄망둑(Acentrogobius pflaumi), 문절망둑(Acanthogobius flavimanus), 복섬(Takifugu niphobles), 그물코쥐치(Rudaris ercodes), 농어(Lateolabrax japonicus), 붕장어(Conger myriaster), 감성돔(Acanthogobius schlegeli), 꼼치(Liparis tanakai), 쥐치(Stephanotepis cirrhifer), 실비늘치(Aulichthys japonicus), 쥐노래미(Hexagrammos otakii), 청보리멸(Silago japonicus) 등의 순으로 채집되었다. 본 조사해역에서 채집된 어류는 대부분이 15cm 이하의 소형 어종이거나 대형 어종의 유어들로 구성되어 있었다. 잘피밭 어류 군집은 뚜렷한 계절 변동을 보였는데, 채집 어종수는 가을에, 채집 개체수 및 생체량은 봄에 높았으며, 겨울에는 어종수 및 개체수 모두 낮았다. 한편 종다양도지수는 가을철에 높았다. 어류 군집의 계절 변동은 수온, 잘피의 현존량 및 먹이생물의 양적 변동에 의하여 영향을 받고있었다. 밤과 낮동안의 채집량을 비교한 결과, 야간에 채집된 어종수 및 개체수가 주간에 비하여 많았다.

영산강 수계 댐호의 육수생물학적 비교연구 ( 1 ) - 어류상을 중심으로 - (A Comparative Study on Limno-biological Aspects of the Dammed Lakes in the Youngsan River in Korea - Centering on Fish Fauna -)

  • Some aspects of limno-biology of the five dammed lakes such as Tamyang, Changsong, Kwangju, Naju, and Youngsan Lake along the Yongsan River were investigated from June 1986 to July 1988 for the comparison on the lentic ecosystems in relation to the fish fauna. Sixty four fish species representing 48 genera and 21 families of fishes were collected in these dammed areas, which included 29 species of the family Cyprinidea and 40 speaies of the primary fresh-water fishes. Among, these, 12 species such as Rhodeus Acheilognothus yamatsutae, A canathorhodeus gracilis, Sarcocheilichthys nigripinis morii, S. variegatus wakiyae, Gnathopogon strigatus, Squalidus gracilis majimae, Microphysogobio yaluensis, Cobitis longicorpus sp, Liobagrus mediadiposalis and Odontobutis platycephala are enddmic to Korea. Leiocassis nitidus and Gasterosteus aculeatus which occur in these water areas take note of the zooge rographic study of Korea. The fish species in each of the dammed lakes is in proportion of the scale of the lakes such as 32 species in Thamyang, 40 species in Changsong, 24 species in Kwangju, 35 species in Jaju, and 52 species in Yongsan Lake. The dominant fish species of the 4 upper dammed lakes of Thamyang, Changsong, Kwangju and Naju Lake are Zacco platypus and Rhodeus uyekii, while those of Youngsan Lake are Hemiculter eigenmanni and Carassius auratus. This difference of fish species of those areas suggests that the upper damed lake differ from the lower dammed lakes in the habitable condition of fishes. The migratory fish species have significantly declined and will continue to decline in both population size and number of species in the dammed lakes in near future as a result of the dam construction barriers in the river estuary. The major migratory fishes of this water area are as follows; Anguilla japonica, Plecoglossus altivelis, Hypomesus olidus, Gasterosteus aculeatus, Konosirus Punctatus, Coilia ectens, Hemirhampus sajori, Mugil cephalus. Acanthogobius flavimanus, and Takifugu ocellatus.

진도 연안 낭장망에 어획된 어류의 종조성 (Species Composition of Fish Collected by a Gape Net with Wings in the Coastal Waters of Jindo, Korea)

  • Species composition of the fish in the coastal waters of Jindo was determined using monthly sample collection by a gape net with wings in 2014. Of a total of 41 fishes collected, the dominant species were Engraulis japonicus, Thryssa kammalensis, Sardinella zunasi, Leiognathus nuchalis, Amblychaeturichthys hexanema, Neosalanx anderssoni, Acanthogobius flavimanus. The former three species were the migratory species and the other four species were the resident species. These 7 fishes accounted for 99.6% of the total number of individuals collected. Monthly species composition did not show a clear seasonal trend. The peak number of individuals occurred in May, lowest in November. Fish were divided into four groups by the cluster analysis.

An Indigenous Case of Intestinal Capillariasis with Protein-Losing Enteropathy in Korea

  • We encountered an indigenous case of intestinal capillariasis with protein-losing enteropathy in the Republic of Korea. A 37-year-old man, residing in Sacheon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, admitted to the Gyeongsang National University Hospital (GNUH) due to long-lasting diarrhea, abdominal pain, anasarca, and weight loss. He recalled that he frequently ate raw fish, especially the common blackish goby (Acanthogobius flavimanus) and has never been abroad. Under the suspicion of protein-losing enteropathy, he received various kinds of medical examinations, and was diagnosed as intestinal capillariasis based on characteristic sectional findings of nematode worms in the biopsied small intestine. Adults, juvenile worms, and eggs were also detected in the diarrheic stools collected before and after medication. The clinical symptoms became much better after treatment with albendazole 400 mg daily for 3 days, and all findings were in normal range in laboratory examinations performed after 1 month. The present study is the 6th Korean case of intestinal capillariasis and the 3rd indigenous one in the Republic of Korea.

Infection Status of Estuarine Fish and Oysters with Intestinal Fluke Metacercariae in Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do, Korea

  • The source of human infection with intestinal flukes was surveyed in estuarine fishes, including the dotted gizzard shad, common sea bass, common blackish goby, redlip mullet, black sea bream, and oyster collected from Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do, Korea during August and September 2007. Collected fishes and oysters were artificially digested in pepsin-HCl solution and examined under a stereomicroscope. In 36 shads (Konosirus punctatus) and 20 basses (Lateolabrax japonicus) examined, Heterophyopsis continua metacercariae were found in 58.3% and 100%, and their average numbers were 12.0 and 6.3 per infected fish, respectively. In 34 gobies (Acanthogobius flavimanus) examined, metacercariae of H. continua were detected in 79.4%, Stictodora lari in 97.1%, and Acanthotrema felis in 92.1%, and their average numbers were 45.8, 189.3, and 235.3 per infected fish, respectively. In 37 redlip mullets (Chelon haematocheilus), Heterophyes nocens metacercariae were found in 56.8%, Pygidiopsis summa in 94.6%, and Stictodora fuscata in 45.9%, and the average metacercarial densities were 17.4, 31.3, and 35.1 per infected fish, respectively. In 30 black sea breams (Acanthopagrus schlegeli) and 45 oysters (Crassostrea gigas) examined, no metacercariae were detected. From the above results, it has been confirmed that the dotted gizzard shad, common sea bass, common blackish goby, and redlip mullet from Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do, Korea are infected with the metacercariae of heterophyid flukes.

  • Heterophyid metacercarial infections in brackish water fishes, i.e., perch, shad, mullet, redlip mullet, and goby, of Jinju-man (Bay), Kyongsangnam-do, Korea, were investigated using a digestion technique. Among 45 perch (Lateolabrax japonicus), the metacercariae of Heterophyopsis continua were found in $55.6\%$ (18.5 metacercariae per fish), Stictodora spp. in $28.9\%$ (3.6), and Metagonimus takahashii in $6.7\%$ (17.0). The metacercariae of H. continua were detected in 23 $(65.7\%)$ of 35 shad (Konosirus punctatus). Among 15 mullet (Mugil cephalus), the metacercariae of Pygidiopsis summa were found in $100\%$ (105.9 metacercariae per fish), Heterophyes nocens in $40.0\%$ (8.5), H. continua in $13.3\%$, and Stictodora spp. in $6.7\%$. Among 12 redlip mullet (Chelon haematocheilus), the metacercariae of P. summa were detected in $91.7\%$ (1,299 metacercariae per fish), H. nocens in $16.7\%$, and Stictodora spp. in $16.7\%$. Among 35 gobies (Acanthogobius flavimanus), the metacercariae of Stictodora spp. were found in $82.9\%$ (44.5 metacercariae per fish), and H. continua in $25.7\%$ (2.8). The adult flukes recovered from a cat experimentally infected with metacercariae from perches were compatible with M. takarashii. The results confirm that the estuarine fish in Jinju-man (Bay) are heavily infected with heterophyid metacercariae. Furthermore, it was found for the first time that the perch acts as a second intermediate host for M. takahashii.

여수 돌산도 주변해역에서 출현하는 농어(Lateolabrax japonicus)의 식성 (Feeding Habits of Lateolabrax japonicus in the Coastal Waters off Dolsan-do, Yeosu)

  • 여수 돌산도 주변해역에서 출현하는 농어의 주먹이생물과 성장에 따른 먹이생물 변화양상을 연구하기 위하여 2005년 1월에서 12월까지 매월 낚시, 자망, 정치망 등에 의해 어획된 시료를 여수어시장에서 구입하였다. 총 344개체의 농어 시료를 분석하였으며, 이들의 체장은 표준체장 8.7~52.8 cm의 범위를 보였다. 농어의 위내용물을 분석한 결과 농어의 가장 중요한 먹이생물은 어류로 나타났다. 어류 중에서는 멸치, 전갱이, 문절망둑 등을 많이 섭식하였다. 어류 다음으로 중요한 먹이생물은 새우류로 나타났으며, 그 외 단각류, 두족류, 갯지렁이류, 곤쟁이류, 게류 등도 섭식하였으나 그 양은 많지 않았다. 농어는 체장 25 cm 이하의 비교적 작은 체장에서는 단각류와 새우류를 주로 섭식하였다. 그러나 성장함에 따라 이들 먹이생물의 비율은 줄어들어 체장 25 cm 이상에서는 어류를 주로 섭식하였다.

삼천포 연안에서 새우 조망에 어획되는 어류 종조성 및 계절변동 (Seasonal Fluctuation in Abundance and Species Composition of Fish Collected by a Beam Trawl in Coastal Waters off Samcheonpo)

  • 이 연구는 과거 삼천포 해역에서 진행된 어류 종조성과 우점종의 변동을 알아보기 위하여 2019년 1월부터 10월까지 계절별로 삼천포 연안에서 새우 조망에 어획된 어류를 대상으로 종조성 및 군집구조를 조사하였다. 표층 평균 수온은 8.7~24.4℃로 나타났고, 표층 평균 염분은 31.5~33.7 psu로 나타났다. 어획된 어류는 총 6목 30과 44종이었고, 6,518 개체가 어획되었다. 이 중 농어목이 14과 19종으로 가장 많은 출현종수를 보였고, 우점종은 주둥치 (1,542개체, 23.7%), 양태(529개체, 8.1%), 청멸(437개체, 6.7%), 보구치(403개체, 6.2%) 및 문절망둑(354개체, 5.4%) 순이었다. 가장 많은 개체수가 어획된 달은 7월 2,385개체가 어획된 7월이었고, 1월에 925개체로 가장 적은 개체가 어획되었다. 다양도 지수는 4월에 2.733으로 가장 높았고, 우점도는 7월에 45.1%로 가장 높았다.

한국의 간흡충에 관한 연구 XIII. Heterophyopsis continua에 의한 인체감염 2례 (Studies On Intestinal Trematodes in Korea XIII. Two Cases of Human Infection by Heterophyopsis continua and the Status of Metacercarial Infection in Brackish Water Fishes)

  • 반염수산 어류를 중간숙주로하여 매개되는 Heterephyopsis continua에 의한 인체감염 2예가 1983년 praziquantel 치료로 성충을 얻음으로써 화인되었다. 또, 정화한 감염원을 알아보기 위하여 전라남도 해안지방에서 잡은 반염수어에 있어서의 피낭유충 감염상황을 조사하였다. 환자는 24세 및 50세된 남자로 남해안 지방이 고향이며 상복부통, 설사 등 일반적인 소화기 중상을 호소하거나 조충류의 편절이 배출됨을 호소하여 prasiquantel 10-15 mg/kg을 단루 투여하고 하제를 사용하여 치료하였다. 그 결과 조충은 물론 2예에서 각각 2마리 및 46마리의 H. continua 흡충이 설사편으로부터 수집되었다. 환자들은 몇가지 종류의 반염수어를 생식한 경력이 있었다. 어류 중문오주 조사결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 검사한 27마리의 농어 (Lateolabrax japonicas)중 17마리 (63.0%), 34마리의 문절망둑(Acanthogobius yavimanus)중 10마리(29.4%)에서 H. continua의 피낭유충이 검출되었으나 42마리의 숭어(Mugil cephalus)는모두 음성으로 나타났다. 2. 농어 및 문절망둑에 있어서 마리당 평균감염 피낭유충수는 55.4 띤 18.7 개이었고 대부분의 피낭유충은 농어의 경우 몸체부 근육에서 발견되었다. 3. 피낭유충을 실험적으로 2마리의 횐쥐 및 1마리의 어린 개(견)에 감염시켜 성충을 얻고자 한 바 휜쥐에서는 얻을 수 없었고 개에서 2마리의 H. continua 성충을 얻을 수 있었다. 이상의 결과로 보아 환자들이 생식한 농어, 문절망둑 등 반염수산 어류가 이들에 있어서 H. continua의 감염원이었을 것으로 추정할 수 있었다.

낙동강 하구 부근의 해양 환경 조사 연구 (Ecological Survey of the Nakdong River Estuary)

  • Physical, chemical and biological surveys on Nakdong River estuary were made from October, 1985 to September, 1986. 1. For all the seasons except summer, the sea surface temperature in northwest area of the line which linked from Seo Island to Jisim Island was I-2$^{\circ}$C lower than in southeast area, but in summer the sea surface temperature in northwest area was I-2$^{\circ}$C higher than in southeast area. On the contrary, bottom temperature of coastal area was 1$^{\circ}$C higher than that of oceanic area except winter. 2. Surface salinity in summer and fall has minimum value of 1. 9%0 and maximum value of 32.9%0. This large variation was caused by the runoff of the Nakdong River. Effect of less saline Nakdong River water in northwest area of the line which linked from Seo Island to Jisim Island was greater than in southeast area. A strong current rip always formed near this line. 3. The yellowish-green colored zone was observed in the Nakdong River estuary throughout the year by influence of river discharge. The characteristics of the water quality in the zone have shown that the water color was grade 7 by the Forel water-color meter, transparency was less than 4 m, and concentration of suspended solids was more than 5 mg/1. This water body was in the state of eutrophication in terms of chlorophyll-a and inorganic nitrogen concentration during summer season. 4. During the study period, total 276 taxa were identified. Most of them were diatoms and dinoflagellates which consisted of 97.5%. The component ratio of the above two groups was 84.4% and 13.1 % respectively. Diatoms were plentiful in December and dinoflagellates in July. Dominant species were Nitzschia seriata in October, Thalassiosira rotula in December, Skeletoncma costatum in April, and Nitzschia longissima in July. 5. A total of 47 zooplankton taxa was identified from the samples collected. Copepods were numerically the most important components of zooplankton communities in the study area. The domir:ant copepod species were Paracalanus parvus, Acartia clausi and Temora turbinata. Noctiluca scintillans was the next important component. The other zooplankton with minor abundance were Cladocera. Sagitta spp., Cnidaria, Mysidacea, Lucifer spp. and Amphipoda. 6. During the study period, fishes from 47 families and 87 species were sampled in th~ study area. The four most abundant fish species were Rep~mucen//'s valencicnnei, Leiognathus n~cha!is, Amblychaeturicllthys hexanema and Sardirel/a zun:zsi. The fish species of the secondary importance in abundance were Cynoglossus joyneri, Sillago sihama, Engra~lis japonicus, Encdrias nebulos'l, Acanthogobius flavimanus, Trichiurus lepturus, LiParis tanai/ai, Cynagloss//'s interruptus, Aj)ogon line:z!us, Thrissz la 1l.'1la!ensis, and Limanda yokohamac.
