The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of dental hygienists in different regions about credit bank system and their needs for that. The subjects in this study were 312 dental hygienists in dental hospitals and clinics in Seoul, Gyeonggi province, metropolitan cities, Gangweon province and Gyeongsang province. After a survey was conducted in 2008, the collected data were analyzed with SPSS 11.5 program. The findings of the study were as follows: 1. In regard to perception of the credit bank system, 68.3 percent of the dental hygienists were cognizant of that. The dental hygienists from most of the geographic areas were aware of it, but all the forty three dental hygienists from Gangweon province who accounted for 13.8 percent didn't know about that. As for media by which they acquired information on that, many of the dental hygienists learned about it from their acquaintances (46.2%), but that was not the case for the dental hygienists from Seoul and Gyeonggi province. 2. As for expectations for the credit bank system, those from Gyeongsang province had the greatest expectations for that in six out of nine items, which included academic or job performance improvement, acquisition of credits, degree or certificates and access to new technology. 3. Concerning educational spending on the credit bank system, 18.9 percent and 8.7 percent from Seoul/Gyeonggi province and Gangweon province spent less than 30 thousand won, and 19.9 percent from the metropolitan cities spent 30 thousand to less than 50 thousand won. 4. As for the importance of the categories of their major in the credit bank system, those from Gangweon province attached the most importance to oral health education ($3.56{\pm}1.259$), and the dental hygienists from the metropolitan cities put the most stress on preventive treatment ($3.64{\pm}1.191$).
The study aims to design and suggest criteria of the academic credit approval for those who obtain diverse qualifications. In order to achieve the objectives of this research, a Delphi survey was conducted. Consequently this study suggests the following, based on the argument that existing credit approval system covering all qualifications requires improvement especially due to limited function and efficiency. First, most respondents who took part in the management of academic credit bank system in the Korea Educational Development Institute stated that the current system is of limitation. Out of the all items, one was indicated as one not directly related the majoring area for the degree, three items were indicated as approved in the bachelor degree and two items were as approved in the associate degree. Second, occupational area for approving qualification items should be classified according to the KRIVET classification structure for national qualification.

Purpose: This study investigated the effects of reeducation of nursing process on nurses' expertise, critical thinking disposition, and clinical decision making. Methods: Data were collected from March to June, 2007. The subjects were 47 Academic Credit Bank System Student Nurses. They were taught 'nursing process' during 1 semester(15weeks). 47 nurses were divided into three groups according to clinical experience(under 3 years, 3 to under 5 years, 5 years or more). After 15 weeks, the effects of education were compared using a paired t-test between pre-test and post-test. Results: There was a significant difference in the 3 to under 5 years experienced nurses's expertise(t=-3.659, p=.004) between the pre-test and post-test. There was a significant difference in the 5 years or more experienced nurses's expertise(t=-5.781, p<.001) and critical thinking disposition(t=-3.345, p=.003) between the pre-test and post-test. There were no significant differences in clinical decision making(accuracy, proficiency, and confidence) of 3 groups. Conclusion: Reeducation of nursing process is a valuable teaching and an evaluation strategy for 5 years or more experienced nurses to improve expertise and critical thinking disposition. We need to develop continuing education program for improving nurses' clinical decision making.

As for requirements for the process of operating the credit bank system, 80.3% regarded required subjects for the major as appropriate basic ones. 79.9% regarded it as proper that filling more than 20 credits made it possible to take a degree. 5. As directions for improving the system, it was found that the students was thinking that strict academic record management is needed, and the degrees from the system must be recognized equally to those in regular colleges, social awareness in those degrees should be enhanced, and also credits assigned to cultural subjects should be reduced, and the limitation in the number of credits being able to be obtained in one center should be removed.
Objectives: As nationally qualified health education specialists were produced for the first time in 2010, there is a need to suggest opinions on its quality management by examining university curriculum for health education specialist and its education system and this is the main topic of paper. Results and conclusion: The results are as follows. First, it requires to provide a high-quality education continuously by introducing the certification system for universities which offer health education. Secondly, education content needs to be based on skill for health education specialist and more standardized curriculum should be developed. Thirdly, introduction of validity date for the health education specialist qualification is needed. Fourthly, it is desirable to introduce the academic credit bank system after effectively organizing the management system. Lastly, follow-up course for health education specialist needs to be introduced.
Lately, national hygiene & medical environment and its demand aspect have been rapidly changing, and market opening of hygiene and medical sector is accelerating. Due to the change in labor resulting from the wide range of change in industrial structure and the steady decrease in university applicants, most of colleges and universities have been strongly urged to establish hygiene medical manpower training courses or relative courses, which leaves the medical technician training courses in 4 year universities on the robust increase. Consequently, the medical technicians, graduating from 3 year colleges without bachelor's degree due to shortage of 20 credits for acquisition of degree, have had to compete with the graduates from 4 year universities and the bachelor's degree has been in continuous demand for the medical technicians of 3 year college. In the research for recognition of Credit Bank System prevalent across the colleges, enabling the systematic acquisition of bachelor's degree, 60.9% among the respondents are aware of Credit Bank System, and 46.9% are aware that Advanced Major Course is induced in the near future. Hence, there shall be active promotions of various programs allowing acquisition of bachelor's degree in the colleges. The social change in recognition of colleges by inducement of the two programs may authorize the college to have the scholastic attainments equivalent to the 4 year university, and the political initiative shall be deliberated across over the government and the academic world.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to pursue an efficient operating plan by surveying the cognition and demand level for major deepening course. Methods : Questionnaire survey was carried out targeting 135 dental hygienists who work in Cheonan and neighboring region. The collected data was performed frequency & percentage, T-test and ANOVA analysis. Results : 1. As for dental hygienists' acquiring academic degree, 77.0% of them responded to have interest. As for a desired route of acquiring academic degree, the major deepening course or Credit Bank System was the highest with 62.2%. 2. As a result of surveying cognition on major deepening course, 73.3% responded to know. A route of having come to know was the largest in senior or friend with 34.8%. Necessity of major deepening course was responded to be necessary with 89.7%. 89.1% of them clarified to have intention of acquiring. 3. The curricular subject, which is desired to be learnt for a plan of operating major deepening course, was the highest in the major field with 63.0%. 4. Librarian certification in Korea is issued by the LIS Departments, the Academy of Librarianship, and the Academic Credit Bank system; however, it has been pointed out that there is a limit to how much these nurture high quality librarians, because the education quality and contents varies from education institutions and there is no verification method for certification issued by educational programs. Therefore, this study investigated certification systems of academic or training programs that are conducted at home and abroad, analyzed how the certification systems are oriented, what the purpose and criteria of the certification systems are, and what the content of assessment is. As a result of this investigation, several areas needing change were identified which if adopted can improve the system. These included making amendments to the library laws related to the certification system, substantially revising the relevant enforcement ordinance, making changes to the selection of the Certification authority, establishing certification standards and procedures, developing contents related to document examination and due diligence audits, rating the effects of the certification system, and setting standards. Improving the Librarian Certification System has been discussed over the past 20 years and should not be delayed any longer because of the university structural reform of the current government, the rapid rise of the qualified librarians, decreasing employment due to the human resources supply and demand imbalances, all of which has resulted in a survival crisis of four-year Department of Library and Information Science.

The study analyzed 343 government-authorized and officially approved textbooks of the Seventh Curriculum's specialized subjects in high school from March to September, 2007. The textbooks were categorized into the area of agriculture, industry, commerce, household and business, science, foreign languages and physical exercise and analyzed in terms of the target and content areas of marine education. And the findings were as follows: First, among the textbooks in the seven groups serving as the focus of this study, 19.8% have oceanic-related information but pages including ocean contents occupy only 0.8%. Consequently ocean-related contents are scarcely included. The ocean-related contents are necessary to be treated goals. Second, the goals of school oceanic education are focused in vocational subjects. In order of commonality, information & knowledge are most frequent, then functionality, followed by activity & participation. There was no education provided focusing on value & attitude. Given that school oceanic educations were selected for promoting the importance of the ocean and highlighting the problems of the ocean, the lack of information & knowledge is of concern. The goals of oceanic education should be augmented to actively and positively participate in the solutions of the problems with knowledge, ocean-friendly value & attitude, and increased activity & participation. Third, the contents of school oceanic education commonly focuses on the relationships of oceans and humans, oceans and ecology, and artificial oceanic environments and facilities. Less common but still introduced are ocean resources, sea pollution, sea preservation and measures. Yet, in contrast there is a lack of education in the ethics of sea preservation.
