The characteristic of Japanese confucianism of Tokugawa era is to lay weight on real world as such, and the Japanese confucianism has grown up academically centers on exhaustive reinterpretation about some Confucian classics. And Backho-Yoon Hyu(白湖 尹?), Seokye-Park Sedang(西溪 朴世堂) who lived in 17th century of Joseon dynasty attempt new interpretation about the Great Learning and they have an objection to the explanatory notes of Zhu Xi. In the same period of China, there are similar academic trends around Whang Jong Hi(黃宗羲), Ko Yeom Mu(顧炎武), Wang Fu Chi(王夫之). In other words, new views of real scholarship which reject emptiness and put much value on reality were current of thoughts that have been common to the oriental three countries in early and middle 17th century. • Purpose: This study was to examine the values of marriage, gender-role and having children, and to explore the factors impacting the values of having children by university students. Methods: A cross-sectional design and structured questionnaires were adopted for data collection of university students in September through November, 2011. Structured questionnaires were based on participants' socio-demographics and scales on values of marriage, gender role and children developed by Young-Mi Park. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and hierarchical multiple regression were applied to data analysis. Results: A total of 366 university students participated in this study. Females and nursing students had negative values toward having children and marriage and positive thoughts about the value of gender role. The value of having children was positively associated with marriage (r=.61, p<.001) and negatively with gender role (r=-.11, p<.032). Relationship between gender role and marriage was negative (r=-.28, p<.001). Hierarchical multiple regression found that the value of children was significantly predicted by the value of marriage.

  • Purpose: To identify the types and characteristics of subjective structures among nursing students toward individuals who attempt suicide. Methods: A group of 32 third- and fourth-year nursing students with experience in clinical practice rated 35 Q-statements on a nine-point scale according to their opinion. Data analysis was conducted using the PC-Quanl program. Results: Subjectivity among nursing students toward individuals who attempt suicide was analyzed for three types. Type 1 (social responsibility emphasis) subjectivity recognizes the social responsibility for suicide attempts and emphasizes the importance of social support systems as a preventive effort. Type 2 (rational reprimand) subjectivity emphasizes the willpower and effort to overcome challenges in life, because happiness and unhappiness are dependent on one's thoughts and will. Type 3 (situation acceptance) subjectivity regards the suicide attempt as an optional means to avoid a deeply strenuous, painful, and difficult situation. Conclusion: This study investigated the subjectivity of nursing students toward individuals who attempt suicide and to provide a better understanding of them. In addition, the development of training programs that take advantage of the subjective characteristics of individuals based on subjectivity types demonstrated in this study is expected to provide nursing students with useful educational materials for their future careers as nurses.

  • This study aims to understand the influence of COVID-19 on youth daily life by analyzing the correlation between youth health and diet according to whether economic status has changed due to COVID-19 and to provide basic data on program construction for the welfare of socially marginalized adolescents. As a result of the study, the proportion of respondents who answered that there was a change in economic status at a high rate for decreased academic performance (p<0.001), stress perception, and suicidal thoughts (p<0.001), and the proportion of decreased number of breakfasts and increased fast food consumption (p<0.001) was also high. These results of the study are thought to be the reason for the increase in adolescents who are alienated due to changes in home conditions due to COVID-19, which is expected to affect the physical and mental health of adolescents who lack communication and guidance, and the increase in delinquents rate due to reduced academic concentration and increased junk food intake. Therefore, through this study, it can be helpful to use basic data for the development of welfare programs such as non-face-to-face as basic data for teenagers alienated from COVID-19.

  • This article examines the concept of 'Seongho-Studies'. The term 'SeonghoStudies' is generally used as a concept which means the overall academic world of Seongho, but it is not clear of what 'Seongho-Studies' really is. To define the term 'Seongho-Studies', characteristics of the Seongho's academic world should be found, and the characteristics have to be original. However, this work is not easy because of the immensity and the diversity of Seongho's academic world. This problem makes us find the concept of 'Seongho-studies' in the process Seongho made his academic world. We can define Seongho's academic attitudes and methods as 'scepticism and self-acquirement.' Thus 'Seongho-studies' is "All of Seongho's academic world that was achieved by the academic methods of scepticism and self-acquirement. It is exposing specific and practical thoughts on the subject based on his situation." This concept can have diverse explanations of Seongho and his followers' academic world, but this also carries various limits. Therefore the concept proposed in the article is one of the many essays for formulating a clear notion of 'Seongho-studies'.

  • Many students prefer to study abroad to increase their chances of having a better future. While studying abroad they may encounter difficulties such as adapting to the culture of the country they are studying in. Chinese students coming to Korea are no exception to this, and when they are studying abroad, the new environment they are in may cause them hardships which may impact on their social life and even their academic performance. In order to develop their careers, they face many difficulties and challenges. Cultural differences they experience may change their attitudes, thoughts, and values. This research focuses on international students who are not yet certain about their future plans. In order to grasp levels of daily life satisfaction, ease of communication, and future planning orientation, this study conducted a survey of Chinese students who study in Korea. The empirical analysis showed that students with high level of life satisfaction have a tendency to enter graduate school. However, communication has no relation to future planning orientation.

  • Citation-based article summarization is to create a shortened text for an academic article, reflecting the content of citing sentences which contain other's thoughts about the target article to be summarized. To deal with the problem, this study introduces an extractive summarization method based on calculating a linear combination of various sentence salience scores, which represent the degrees to which a candidate sentence reflects the content of author's abstract text, reader's citing text, and the target article to be summarized. In the current study, salience scores are obtained by computing surface-level textual similarities. Experiments using CL-SciSumm datasets show that the proposed method parallels or outperforms the previous approaches in ROUGE evaluations against SciSumm-2017 human summaries and SciSumm-2016/2017 community summaries.

  • This paper is propose for some guidelines in making curriculum for the training of archivists for Koran records. This paper pays special attention to the revival of the culture of record-keeping tradition of our owns. Without it's revival, a blind introduction of archival sciences based on Western civilizations can be ended up another version of cultural and academic imperialism as such in the field of the record-management of Korean records. Rapidly growing information and computer technology of our owns must be incorporated in the making of archivist training programs. It proposes that the opening of archival science major as a department at the graduate school level is in the long run essential, yet that of an associate master degree program can be in real an alternative. A training of archivists is not just to produce of a technician but a crafts(wo)man who would be in the vanguard of the renaissance of the record-keeping culture in Korea.
