This study aims to investigate the relationship between university library usage and educational achievement of academic library users. To proceed with this study, academic library usage data were collected from S university undergraduate students. Academic achievement was measured using the students' grade point average(GPA). T-test and analysis of variance were used to compare differences of means between library usage and academic achievement with the background variables. Hierarchical regression analyses were conducted to determine the association between library usage and academic achievement. As a result, a positive correlation was found between academic achievement and the use of library resources and services according to gender, year and academic subject. In addition, academic library usage had a positive significant influence on academic achievement. Students who used more library resources and facilities ultimately get better grades.

In information society, enhancing information literacy is a common goal of the academic and school libraries. Consequently the academic libraries connect with the school libraries through information literacy In this study, a academic library visiting program is presented and proposed as a policy to link the academic and school libraries. This program may be a alternative to activate school library-based teaming and overcome lacks of resources and teacher librarians, in the academic libraries. it may be a policy to improve lacks of materials and carrels and overcome the problem of service increase in the opening academic library for local communities. And it will contributes to the educational role or the librarian.

The purpose of this study is identify users satisfaction for an academic library in order to investigate problems in academic library management and to create library development strategies. This study, also, includes relative functions between academic education and academic libraries. Research method for this study is occupied a survey for undergraduate students in K University Results of the survey can be regarded as users needs and can used for fundamental data and an assessment measure in order to develop an academic library operation plan.

The purpose of this article is to discuss about the progress and problems in Korean academic library policies. The emphasis is on identifying both contents and limitations in national plans for developing academic libraries, and investigating the current status and characteristics of major policy driving forces such as national library policy committees, government organizations, and professional associations. Also investigated is the current status and unique features of legal foundations, especially the present Korean Library Act and a tentatively named Korean University Library Promotion Act, which is being prepared for legislation. Finally this article suggests both direction and strategy for a healthy development of Korean academic library policies at national level.

Academic libraries are at a turning point. Historically academic libraries were the natural destination for students, faculty, and researchers seeking information. These users came to the library by default. Academic libraries served as the repository for published information as well as the intermediary for acquiring material from the outside world. In this study, suggested are directions of academic library websites construction and current techniques related library 2.0 that could be applied digital information system of academic libraries. And discussed the recent status, problems and future directions of scholarly information service through websites supporting lecture and research prefect activities for faculties in Korean university libraries.

The purpose of this study is to establish the legal or institutional bases of academic libraries as the core facility which helps strengthen the capabilities of education and research by collecting, managing and providing knowledge resources for universities in Korea. The present 'Library Law' largely focuses on public libraries and the National Central Library, and deals with academic libraries, special libraries and school libraries in a very limited sense. Therefore, in this research the changes in the laws and regulations related to academic libraries are examined, and the process of proposing and legislating 'The Academic Library Promotion Act' is analyzed. Finally, how to proceed to actually legislate 'The Academic Library Promotion Act' is suggested.

This study aims to raise academic library funds in Korea through how to raise funds and what conditions are. In order to do this, case studies on academic library funds of university in America as well as academic library funds of university in Korea have been analyzed. As for the specific plan for raising academic library funds, I have indicated to establish office for library development and include library as one of allotment for infrastructure which is similar to the Development Impact Fee in the U.S.A., and the use of library supporting organizations like "Library Friends."

This study aims to draw implications on development of service quality evaluation criteria for academic libraries in Korea. First, this study review recent academic research trends on service quality evaluation criteria for academic libraries. Second, This paper diagnosed result of 'the pilot evaluation of academic libraries in Korea' conducted from 2010 and 2011 and prospect the direction on the evaluation of academic library according to 'Library Promotion Act' established in march 27, 2015. Finally, this article was performed comparative analysis of studies or criteria on service quality evaluation for academic libraries.

This study tried to provide users with customized services by applying the CRM theory of the MyLibrary functions of the academic library system. The first data were collected through documentary survey and homepage survey, and case study of domestic and overseas college libraries was performed and 3 systems among academic library systems were selected to conduct a survey with their librarians and users of the academic libraries. It was found that librarians in charge of each function of services didn't much utilize information data of users created in the MyLibrary functions. As for an improvement method, it was suggested that systematic management to raise recognition on CRM and utilize it as feedback data is required in order to provide high quality services as well as customized information services to users based on data created in MyLibrary.

Academic libraries have been facing threats and opportunities at the same time because of a successful combination of information and communication technologies such as the internet. This study presented the need for library development in academic libraries, to assist with increasing costs and declining budgets and fulfilling users' expectations of additional information services. It suggested as a guide for library development of academic libraries in Korea through providing examples of various methods and cases for library development. As a result of research, this study provided the basic ideas of academic library development, which includes forming a community of friends of library and developing fundraising and fee-based information services.
