가정용 흡수식 냉난방기 개발을 위한 재생기 성능실험 (Performance Experiment of Generator for Household Absorption Chiller and Heater)

  • Recently, the markets of the air conditioner are enlarging. The market size will reach 2.0 billion won in 2000. Electric heat pumps have been utilized as main residential air conditioners. especially in Korea. They cause a surge up electric power demand during summer. Moreover, the use of HCFCs and HFCs causes serious problem to the global environment such as global warming and ozone layer destruction. Absorption chiller and heater could solve such problems. It was built and tested for analyzing the performance of the generator for absorption chiller and heater. Experiment was done with a high temperature generator, a low temperature generator, heat exchangers, a condenser and a solution tank. It was tested that the double effect series flow cycle with two kinds of solution cycle. Solution cycle B showed better than solution cycle A. Two kinds of heat exchanger were used, where one's heat transfer area is bigger than the other. Bigger one increased a little performance of absorption chiller and heater. But it was not economical. From this study, we got that the coefficient of performance(COP) is 0.82 and the capacity is 7.24 kW for an absorption chiller and heater.

  • The helmholtz resonator with the perforated neck has demerits that the absorption performance is not so outstanding in an anti-resonance frequency and high frequency bandwidth. In order to overcome these problems, in the paper, a resonator combined with porous material is proposed. The absorption performances of resonators are measured by two-microphone method and estimated by transfer matrix method. The experimentally measured values of normal absorption coefficients agree well with the corresponding values from the transfer matrix method. Because of the porous material, it is shown that the absorption performance have been significantly improved in the anti-resonance frequency and high frequency bandwidth.

  • An experimental study of the absorption process of water vapor into Lithium Bromide solution was performed. For the purpose of development of high performance absorption chiller-heater utilizing Lithium Bromide solution as working fluid, the absorber is the most effective to improve the performance of an absorber because it requires the largest heat transfer area in an absorption chiller-heater system. This paper introduces bare tube and floral tube for the absorber of absorption chiller-heaters. floral tube has higher heat and mass transfer performance than bare tube conventionally used in absorbers and the it is expected to perform high heat and mass transfer. This paper will provide important information on the selection of absorber tubes in commercial absorption chiller -heaters.

  • An experimental study of the absorption process of water vapor into lithium bromide solution was performed. For the purpose of development of high performance absorption chiller-heater utilizing Lithium Bromide solution as working fluid, the absorber is the most effective to improve the performance of an absorber because it requires the largest heat transfer area in an absorption chiller-heater system. This paper introduces bare tube and inner ribbed notched fin tube for the absorber of absorption chiller-heaters. Inner ribbed notched fin tube has about 10∼20% higher heat and mass transfer performance than bare tube conventionally used in absorbers and the it is expected to perform high heat and mass transfer. This paper will provide important information on the selection of absorber tubes in commercial absorption chill-heaters.

  • Performance of a small-capacity solar absorption cooling system was investigated experimentally. Ten sets of evacuative-tube solar-heat collectors and a 5 kW single-stage absorption cooler were combined to produce a hybrid cooling system. The performance of the cooling system was measured using a tim-coil unit installed in a small plastic storage. It was found from the test on a sunny day of May that when the temperature of the hot water supplied from the solar collectors to the generator of the absorption cooler reached $60^{\circ}C$, the absorption cooler started cooling and the cold water temperature measured from the fan-coil unit reached $18^{\circ}C$. The COP, which is defined as the ratio of the cooling power to the total electrical power input was higher than 1.0.

  • This study focuses on the development and evaluation of the high efficiency absorption chiller-heater, which can be applied to a direct gas fired, double effect system with 40RT (508,000kJ) cooling capacity. The performance of the absorption chiller-heater is investigated through cycle simulation and experiment to obtain the system characteristics with the inlet tenperature of cooling, chilled water, and gas input flow rate. The efficiency of the different cycles has been studied and the simulation and experiment results show that higher coefficient of performance could be obtained for mixed flow cycle. The five percent difference was obtained from the comparison between experimental and cycle simulation results. As a result of this study, the optimum designs were determined based on the operating conditions and the coefficient of performance.

  • This study describes the results of Coefficient Of Performance(COP) analysis by cycle simulation for two types of absorption-compression hybride cycle using the water/Lithium Bromide solution pair, These types are basic hybride systems introducing a mechanical compression process into the refrigerant vapor phase of the single effect absorption cycle. In absorption-compression hybrid cycles, coefficient of performance is improved compared with absorption cycle. Hybride cycle Type ll is considered as a key technology to support energy utilization system, given its capability of utilizing waste heat to drive system with a high level of efficiency.

  • The sound absorption materials have been used to enhance the performance of a noise barrier and improve the room acoustics. In this study, 6 products of sound absorption materials generally used in Korea were chosen, and their absorption performance was tested in various conditions, that is, it was measured while changing thickness, density and air-gap in their back, and measured with or without facing on their face.

  • In absorption system, the performance of the absorber is critical the overall system performance, size, and first-cost. The objective of this paper is to provide a comprehensive review of the significant effects that researchers have made to numerically analysis model the coupled heat and mass transfer process that occur during falling-film absorption and experimental researches. This study includes experimental work in the enhancement of absorption performance, the effect of the geometry of a vertical absorber, and the effect of configuration of absorption system. This paper is used to highlight key areas which need attention such as film ans vapor hydrodynamics, especially the non-periodicity, instability, and recirculatory motion of waves in the vertical absorber case.
