남원지역 화강암 석재의 품질, 암석조직과 구성광물의 비교연구 (Correlation of mineralogical and textural properties with mechanical qualities of granite dimension stone from the Namwon area, Korea)

  • 화강암은 국내에서 건축재, 공예 재료로서 사용되는 석재들 중 가장 큰 비중을 차지한다. 화강암은 구성광물, 광물의 함량 변화가 크기 때문에 이에 따라 물리적, 공학적 특성변화가 다양하다. 이 연구의 목적은 국내에서 화강암 석재가 가장 많이 생산되는 지역 중 하나인 남원지역의 화강암을 대상으로 암석기재학적 인 특성과 공학적인 특성사이의 상호 관련성을 규명하기 위한 것이다. 화강암의 구성광물의 함량비와 구성광물 각각의 입도를 측정하였으며 동일 시료에 대해 밀도, 흡수율, 공극율, 일축압축강도, 인장강도, 마모경도, P파 속도, 탄성계수, 포아송비 등의 물성 측정이 실시되었다. 화강암의 공학적 특성은 광물의 함량비 보다는 광물의 입도에 더 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 석영의 함량비도 화강암의 공학적 성질에 역시 영향을 주는 것으로 판단된다.

고능률 연삭용 알루미나 연삭숫돌의 연삭성능 및 마멸에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Grinding Performance and Wear of Alumina Grinding Wheels Developed for High Performance Grinding)

  • A new grinding wheel was developed for the high performance grinding of difficult-to-grinding materials. The grinding performance of the newly developed wheel including grinding forces, grinding ratio, and surface roughness of ground surface was evaluated through experiments. Experimental results show that the performance of the newly developed wheel is superior to the conventional alumina wheel and comparable to the Sol-gel wheel. An experimental investigation on the wear of alumina grinding wheel was also carried out. The experiments consist of the measurements of fracture strength of the abrasive grains, grinding force, and the area of wear flats of grinding wheels. Microscopic examination of abrasive grains was executed to observe the progress of wheel wear. The results indicate that the 32A grain, which has relatively lower fracture strength, wears out faster than 5SS and 5SG. The wheel wear occurs much faster in wet grinding than in dry grinding. It has also been found that the grinding forces increase logarithmically with increasing wear flats.

우주망원경용 비구면 반사경 표면조도 향상을 위한 진화형 수치제어 연삭공정 모델 (NOVEL CNC GRINDING PROCESS CONTROL FOR NANOMETRIC SURFACE ROUGHNESS FOR ASPHERIC SPACE OPTICAL SURFACES)

  • 우주망원경용 비구면 반사경 가공 공정은 고정입자 연삭, 자유입자 래핑, 연마의 순서를 따른다. 숙련공에 의한 경험적 공정조절에 의해 목표 비구면을 가공하는 전통적 연삭 공정에서는 수 ${mu}m$ 높이의 표면 밑 손상을 남기며 뒤이은 자유입자 래핑 및 연마 공정에서 이를 제거하며 가공한다. 본 연구는 컴퓨터 수치 제어 연삭 공정진화 모델을 개발하여, 연삭가공을 통해 반사경 표면조도 최소 40nm이하, 가공 예측정확도 20nm급을 이루었다. 구체적인 방법론으로 초정밀가공기의 연삭모듈을 이용하여 연삭 휠 입자의 크기, 이송속도, 공작물 회전선속도 등 연삭 변수를 변화시키며 직경 20, 100mm Zerodur 소재를 초기 연삭하였다. 초기 연삭 변수와 측정된 표면조도와의 관계를 경험적 해석과 다 변수 회귀분석 해석 방법을 통하여 공정조절용 수치 연삭 모델을 구성하였다. 정량적 공정제어는 입력된 연삭변수들로부터 가공 후 표면조도를 예측하고, 측정된 표면조도를 이용하여 수치연삭 모델을 개량한 후 다음 가공에서 측정될 표면조도를 예측하는 순으로 만복 진행되었다. 본 연구에서는 CNC 연삭공정조절로부터 최소 평균 표면조도 36nm, 예측정확도 ${pm}20nm$를 얻었다. 이 연구결과는 정량적 연삭공정제어 모델을 사용하여 자유입자 래핑 공정을 수행할 필요 없이 연삭에서 직접 연마 공정으로 진행할 수 있는 획기적인 공정 효율 향상을 의미한다.

$Si^3 N_4$ 구조용세라믹재의 연삭가공시 숫돌마멸에 따른 가공특성 (Machining Characteristics According to the Wheel Wear in Surface Grinding for Structural Ceramics of $Si^3 N_4$)

  • In this study, the decision of dressing time for diamond wheel was analyzed by observing with acoustic emission signals and surface roughness, and also obtained the machining characteristics by weibull distribution plot for the values of bending strength. From the experimental study, it was possible to predict the time of re-dressing for the diamond grinding wheel with the analysis of acoustic emission signals and surface roughness values, and following conclusions were obtained. The root-mem-square values of acoustic emission signals were obtained low as the increased of table speed for different abrasive grain size. This is caused by the lack of grinding power which is not able to get rid of all real grinding mass of depth as the table speed is increased. The values of bending strength for ground $Si_3 N_4$ specimens were decreased for gain size of #400 than that of #60, but it was found that the surface roughness values for gain size of #60 were better than that of #400. As compared the shape parameter of weibull distribution plot for the values of bending strength, it was found that the reliability of bending strength for grain size of #60 increased than that of #400.

Sr 페라이트의 총형연삭특성 (Form grinding characteristics of Sr ferrite)

  • This paper aims to clarify the effects of grinding conditions in form grinding of Sr-ferrite with the electro-plated diamond wheel. The main conclusions obtained were as follows. (1) The flexural strength and surface roughness of ferrite became the best at the peripheral wheel speed of 1700 m/min. (2) In the case of the depth of cut larger than 0.4mm, crack layers is induced in the ground surface, and the fracture type of chips exhibits slight ductile mode in the depth of cut smaller than 0.2mm. (3) Whe the depth of cut exceeds 0.6mm, the wheel life becomes extremely severe due to the large chipping and brack- age in the diamond grains. However, at the depth of cut .leq. 0.05mm, the diamond grain shows abrasive wear. (4) The decrease of flexural strength and the increase of surface roughness is in proportion to the increase of the feed rate. (5) Most effective nozzle setting angles with various delivery conditions of the grinding fluid, such as nozzle position .PHI. , flow rate Q, etc., were made clear.

  • This paper aims to clatify the potimum grinding condition for the electroplated diamond wheel in form grinding of Sr-ferrite. The main conclusions obtained were as follows. (1) The flexural strength and surface roughness of ferrite became the highest at the peripheral wheel speed of 1700m/min.   • A measure for good products manufactured by grinding process is the surface roughness that is affected by a lot of operating parameters such as types of abrasive, grain size, bond material, wheel speed, table speed, depth of cut, hardness of workpiece and stiffness of grinding machine. In this study, an application of the design of experiments was tried for evaluating the effect of operating parameters on the surface roughness. The workpiece was a high speed tool steel(SKH51) and the surface grinding was conducted. In order to obtain the best surface roughness within constraints of the working range, the optimal grinding conditions were selected. The usefulness of this method was evaluated by the statistical strategy.

실험적 방법에 의한 파인세라믹스의 연삭성에 관한 연구 (A study on the Grindability of Fine Ceramics by Experimental Method)

  • This paper describes the characteristics of high speed grinding and the influence of wheel surface speed V and a grindability of the grinding materials. The various fine ceramics pieces was ground by metal and vitrified bonded diamond wheel. The surface roughness of fine ceramics(Zirconia($ZrO_2$), Silicon Carbide(SiC), Silicon Nitride($Si_3N_4$), Alumina($Al_2O_3$)) decreases from $0.05{\mu}m(R_{max})$ to $0.025{\mu}m(R_{max})$ when the wheel speed at grinding point increases the wheel speed. Relation between the temperature at grinding point and surface roughness was linear. Abrasive jet machining(AJM), a specialized from of shot blasting, is considered one of the most helpful micro machining methods for hard and brittle materials such as glasses and ceramics by constant pressure grinding.

  • Cr-C-Ni composites were synthesized in situ from elemental powders of Cr, Ni and C by high energy milling followed by reactive sintering. The milled powders with the grain size in nano-scale were pressed to compacts and sintered. During the following thermal treatment at first the chromium carbide was formed and then the $Cr_3C_2-Ni$ cermets were sintered in one cycle. The interface between the binder phase and the carbide grains of the in situ composite has a good bonding strength as it is not contaminated with oxidation films or other detrimental surface reactions.

연삭식 도정기에 의한 도정 정도별 쌀의 이화학적 특성 변화 (Changes of Physicochemical Characteristics of Rice Milled by Newly Designed Abrasive Milling Machine)

  • 연삭식 정미기를 이용하여 도정한 쌀의 도정 정도에 따른 수력함량은 12.81∼13.15%로서 연삭 횟수가 증가할수록 약간 증가하는 경향이었으며, 조단백질 및 조지방 함량은 각각 7.81∼8.50% 및 1.07∼l.93%로서 도정 정도가 클수록 감소하였으나 백미보다는 높았고, 조지방의 주요 지방산은 palmitic acid(22.06∼25.76%, peak area %), oleic acid(34.04∼35.62%) 및 linoleic acid(39.58∼42.22%)로 확인되었다. 백도는 현미와 백미의 중간 정도이었으며, 쌀눈 부착률은 연삭 4회 및 연마 1회 시료의 경우에도 39.33%에 이르러 백미(4.00%)보다 매우 높은 비율을 나타냈으며, 천립중은 현미와 유의적 차이(p<0.05)가 없었다. 주사전자현미경 관찰 결과 연삭 4회 및 연마 1회 시료는 표면의 매끄러움이 백미와 비슷한 반면 쌀눈이 일부 부착되어 있었다. 취반 후 관능평가 한 결과 연삭,3회, 연삭 4회, 연삭 4회 및 연마 1회 시료는 백미와 유의적 차이가 없거나(맛) 약간 낮은 선호도(색깔, 냄새, 조직감, 전체적 기호도)를 나타냈으나 현미보다 월등히 높은 선호도를 나타내어 영양가 있는 쌀로서 이용되기에 좋은 것으로 판단된다.
