This study was carried out to investigate the acute oral toxicity of a crude extract derived from fruiting body of Phellinus gilvus (PGE) using male and female SD rats. Groups consisted of five male and female rats were treated with a single dose of the test substance intragastrically at 0, 500, 1,000, 2,000, and 5,000 mg/kgaj, respectively. Clinical signs, body weight change, and food and water consumption change were observed for 14 days after administration. No mortality or abnormal clinical signs in animals were shown during the observation period at the dose used in this study. Also there was no difference in net body weight gain, water and food consumption or gross pathological findings at terminal sacrifice among the groups of rat treated with different doses of the test substance. The results suggested that acute oral toxicity of PGE in rats is very low at the conditions employed in this study and $LD_{50}$ of PGE was estimated to be over 5,000 mg/$\textrm{m}{\ell}$ in both sexes of rats.
Abnormal climate or weather is more frequently reported nowadays due to the global climate change. Especially, extremely low temperature in winter season may cause bad thermal discomfort of passengers. In this study, the effect of car heating modes on cabin temperature change and distribution was studied by using a real-scale environmental chamber for passenger cabin. It was found that the cabin temperature rose quickly at the initial stage of heating system operation, but it stopped increasing after certain point. And, temperature was higher when the height from the floor was higher. Based on the obtained result, the way to minimize the decrease of passengers' thermal comfort was suggested.

Hydrogen-compressed natural gas (HCNG) blend has attracted attention as a fuel that can reduce $CO_2$ emissions because it has low carbon content and burns efficiently. An increase in the compression ratio of HCNG engines was considered as one of the methods to improve their efficiency and reduce $CO_2$ emissions. However, a high combustion rate and flame temperature cause abnormal combustion such as pre-ignition or knocks, which in turn can cause damage to the engine components and decrease the engine power. In this study, the performance and knock characteristics with a change in the compression ratio of an HCNG engine were analyzed. The combustion characteristics of HCNG fuel were evaluated as a function of the excess air ratio using a conventional CNG engine. The effects of the compression ratio on the engine performance were evaluated through the same experimental procedures.
Recently, abnormal weather conditions, such as extreme high temperatures and droughts, have increased in frequency due to climate change, there has accordingly been growing concern regarding the detrimental effects on field crop, including soybean. Therefore, this study was conducted to examine the effects of increased temperatures on soybean growth and yield using a temperature gradient chamber (TGC). Two major types of soybean cultivar, a medium- seed cultivar such as Daepung-2 and a large-seed cultivar such as Daechan, were used and four temperature treatments, aT+1℃ (ambient temperature+1℃), aT+2℃ (ambient temperature+2℃), aT+3℃ (ambient temperature+3℃) and aT+4℃ (ambient temperature+4℃) were established to examine the growth response and seed yield of each cultivar. Seed yield showed a higher correlation with seed weight (r=0.713***) and an increase in temperature affected seed yield by reducing the single seed weight. In particular, the seed growth rate of the large-seed cultivar (Daechan) increased at high temperature, resulting in a reduction in the number of days for full maturity. Our results accordingly indicate that large-seed cultivar, such as Daechan, is potentially vulnerable to high temperature stress. The results of this study can be used as basic data in the development of cultivation technology to reduce the damage caused by elevated temperatures. Also, further research is required to evaluate the response of each process contributing to seed yield production under high temperatures.

The cabin pressurization system response should be consistent with the design limits such as the cabin pressure schedule, the pressure regulation tolerance, the maximum rate of pressure change during normal and abnormal operation and the maximum cabin air inflow rate change. In this paper, the results of pressure loss analysis and flight test for cabin pressurization system of T-50 advanced trainer are introduced. The pressure tolerance at unpressurized condition using calculated exit area of pressurization components through pressure loss analysis is predicted. Pressurization components of D company are selected and the predicted pressure tolerance is in good agreement with flight test results. Finally, T-50 pressurization system is verified by some flight tests of T-50 advanced trainer to comply with various pressurization design criteria of MIL-E-18927.

Twenty-one diabetic nephropathy patients with normal serum BUN(Blood Urea Nitrogen), creatinine levels and ten chronic renal failure patients with abnormal high BUN, creatinine levels were investigated to evaluate the renal function change after long term herb medicine administration. The hospitalized patients were administrated three times a day with herb medicine, which were prescribe frequently in practical oriental medicine such as many hospital and local clinics. Blood Urea Nitrogen, creatinine and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) were measured immediately after 7days medication. Serum BUN, creatinine levels in diabetic nephropathy patients changed from 17.63±4.38㎎/㎗, 1.09±0.26㎎/㎗(mean±SD) of pre-medication levels to 14.13±3.24 1,20±0.37, 14.75±2.21 1.23±0.55, 12.34±2.89 1.18±0.42 at 7th, 14th, 21th days after herb medicine administration respectively. Also 24hr urine total protein changed from 632.25±254.43㎎/㎗ of pre-medication levels to 623.18±231.56㎎/㎗ after herb medicine administration(P>0.05). Serum BUN, creatinine levels and GFR in chronic renal failure patients changed from 67.45±13.86㎎/㎗, 6.74±2.91㎎/㎗, 13.73±4.21㎖/min pre-medication levels to 61.23±17.75 6.43±2.29 15.49±3.56, 58.84±19.36 5.83±2.51 16.38±2.85, 56.39±20.33 5.64±2.52 16.73±3.40 at 7th, 14th, 21th days after herb medicine administration respectively. Therefore, there was not clinically remarkable difference in the serum BUN, creatinine, GFR levels between pre-medication and post-medication in both Group.

I examine propping within chaebolgroups, using changes of bond rating events made by corporate credit evaluation institutions. Much studies related to the internal capital market and tunneling have enhanced our understanding of the important function of chaebolgroups in emerging market, but relatively little is known about propping within affiliated firms. In a common sense, propping implies capital reallocation within affiliated firms to save a financially troubled affiliate. In event study on announcement the changes of corporate bond rating, I found most positive numbers in chaebolgroup's CAR. Particularly when lower change than higher change, decrease ratio of CAR is higher positively in chaebolgroups, which relatively shows that there is more propping effects in chaebolgroups than non-chaebolgroups. In multi-regression analysis, after strengthen restriction of internal mutual investment, propping effects are decreased positively in chaebolgroups than non-chaebolgroups when credit rating adjust lower, which implies there was more propping in chaebolgroups.
Objectives: This study examined the natural history of symptomatic patients who did or did not display abnormal results on nerve conduction studies (NCS). Methods: Forty hundred fifty adults were selected among a total of 578 residents who participated in the health examination in a rural Korean district. A symptom questionnaire and NCS were used to diagnose ulnar neuropathy at the elbow (UNE). There were 6.4% of the subjects with UNE, 5.1 % of the subjects showed symptoms without a NCS, and 84.2% of the subjects who were asymptomatic. One year later, 20 symptomatic limbs with an abnormality on the ulnar NCS and 22 symptomatic limbs without any abnormality in the ulnar NCS were enrolled in a follow-up study. The natural history of UNE was evaluated by examining the changes in the clinical and electrodiagnostic examinations. Results: The 1-year follow-up of the enrolled limbs found that for the symptomatic limbs with an abnormality on the NCS, the degree of severe of the clinical grade changed from 20% to 10%. In contrast, for the symptomatic limbs that were without any abnormality in the NCS, the change of the severe degree of the clinical grade was from 0% to 18.2%. Also, for the electrodiagnostic change, only symptomatic limbs without NCS abnormalities showed significant changes in motor latency, amplitude and conduction velocity at the 1-year follow-up. Conclusions: The 1-year follow-up study revealed symptomatic limbs that were without any abnormality on the ulnar NCS were more likely to progress than the symptomatic limbs with an abnormality on the ulnar NCS.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate whether the health status of Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) soldiers changed after one year of military service. Methods: We selected 483 ROKAF soldiers from the 11 749 recruits who participated in the 2011 physical examination. The selected soldiers underwent another physical examination in 2012 for advancement to senior airman. Data from 2011 and 2012 were merged. To collect data on lifestyle, a questionnaire was sent to all included subjects via the military intranet e-mail service. Results: The percentage of recruits with an abnormal alanine transaminase level (normal range <40 IU/L) decreased from recruitment (13.7%) to the following year (2.7%). Moreover, the percentage of obese soldiers (body mass index ${\geq}25kg/m^2$) decreased from recruitment (20.5%) to the following year (10.4%). There was a significant change in mean duration of exercise carried out each day before ($0.8{\pm}1.3$ hours) and after ($1.0{\pm}0.7$ hours) joining the ROKAF service. Conclusions: These ROKAF soldiers were generally in good health before and after joining the armed service. After one year of military service, the health status of most soldiers improved, especially with respect to body mass index and alanine transaminase level.
It is very common to produce fairytales, folktales, or fables into animations. If they often transform existing works into animations, we may have to examine how they change the original to communicate with the audience and also how they change the original's subject matter or theme to create meaning. The purpose of this study is to consider how the original's meaning and value were changed as Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale, "The Snow Queen", was converted into an animation, , and also how it influenced the work itself. To attain the goal, this author is going to comparatively analyze the two works' narratives, actants, and semiotic squares by using A.J. Greimas' semiology. According to the findings, although "The Snow Queen" expresses the desire to go back to happy days in the past, it is not a simple return to the past but a stepwise process to become mature mentally as well as religiously. Meanwhile, intends to generate past-oriented meaning expressing the desire to return what is abnormal in the present to what was normal in the past and resolve the individual and religious aspects of "The Snow Queen" in a social and popular way.
