An Efficient Timing-level Gate-delay Calculation Algorithm (효율적인 타이밍 수준 게이트 지연 계산 알고리즘)

  • In recent years, chip delay estimation has had an increasingly important impact on overall design technology. The analysis of the timing behavior of an ASIC should be based not only on the delay characteristics of gates and interconnect circuits but also on the interactions between them. This model plays an important role in our CAD system to analyze the ASIC timing characteristics accurately, together with two-dimensional gate delay table model, AWE algorithm and effective capacitance concept. In this paper, we present an efficient algorithm which accounts for series resistance by computing a reduced-order approximation for the driving-point admittance of an RC-tree and an effective capacitance equation that captures the complete waveform response accurately.

  • 영상처리분야의 연구개발은 특정 분야에 특화된 알고리즘을 이용하고, 이러한 특수성으로 인해 유사한 기능을 반복적으로 구현하는 문제점을 안고 있다. 특히 연구개발결과물의 공유환경이 마련되어있지 않아 이러한 문제점을 더욱 가중시켜 연구개발비용의 증가를 유발하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 영상처리용 통합개발환경과 연계된 P2P기반의 공유체계를 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 많은 비용을 들여 연구개발한 영상처리 알고리즘이 사장되는 위험을 감소시키고 재활용 가능성을 높일 것으로 기대한다.

  • 전세계적으로 영상을 이용하는 분야는 급속도로 발전되고 확장되어 가고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 영상처리 기술의 중요성은 더욱더 강조되고 있다. 하지만 영상처리 기술은 다른 기술들에 비하여 굉장히 특화되어 같은 기술이라도 사용 환경과 분야에 따라 각기 다른 형태와 다른 사용 방식을 요구하고 있다. 이러한 환경은 영상처리 기술들의 재사용성을 떨어뜨리고 기술 개발 비용의 증가를 가져 왔다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점들을 해결하고자 영상처리 기술을 활용하고 공유하기 위한 컴포넌트의 구조를 제안하고자 한다.

  • 멀티미디어 DBMS는 연속매체를 서비스할 때 동시에 보다 많은 사용자들에게 일정한 서비스 품질을 유지하면서 서비스를 제공할 수 있어야 한다. 이를 위하여 멀티미디어 DBMS를 위한 저장시스템은 보다 큰 디스크 대역폭을 지원해야 하므로 디스크 배열의 구조를 갖는 것이 바람직하다. 디스크 배열 환경에서 다수의 연속매체를 병행적으로 서비스할 때 요구 데이터를 순차접근에 의하여 검색할 수 있으면 디스크 대역폭을 탐색시간 등으로 소모하지 않으므로 고속 디스크 대역폭을 유지할 수 있다. 또한, 디스크 접근시 디스브 부하 균형을 유지할 수 있으면 자원 활용율이 높은 고성능의 저장 시스템이 될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 연속매체들을 순차접근에 의해서 처리하면서 디스크 부하 균형을 유지할 수 있는 데이터 배치 기법을 제안한다. 제안한 데이터 배치기법에 의한 성능평가는 모의 실험 전용틀인 AweSim 2.0을 사용하였다.

A Road to Understanding Galaxies: 40 years of galaxy studies

  • One day, a galaxy study suddenly came to me and became a friend of 40 years. The study of galaxies, which began with surface photometry of nearby galaxies, ended up in galaxy morphology through chemical and dynamical evolution of galaxies. All that deviated from the study of galaxies was the study of the open clusters. So it seems to me that I devoted my entire life to the study of galaxies. The most memorable one is the observation at Sobaeksan Observatory. Even though the heavy snow fell, I climbed Sobaeksan to meet galaxies. Galaxies observed at Kiso Observatory, DAO, and BOAO are now beyond memory, but I still enjoy seeing them. There are many memories, but the biggest pleasure I've had in my galaxy studies is when I've encountered the galactic conformity between host and its satellite galaxies. Eureka! Now the night sky is changing from the object of study to the object of awe. I will share this joy.

Effect of Using QuillBot on the Writing Quality of EFL College Students

  • The majority of research on Automated Writing Evaluation (AWE) programs has focused primarily on Grammarly, whereas QuillBot and its use in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms remains limitedly explored. This study examined the effectiveness of using QuillBot on the writing quality of college students. A total of 26 participants took pre- and post-writing tests, and four analytical tools were applied to assess their writing quality in terms of syntactic complexity, lexical diversity, lexical richness, and readability. Results of the syntactic complexity analysis across the four indices demonstrates that the syntactic complexity of EFL writing increased significantly, and substantial differences were observed in lexical richness and readability. These results suggest that QuillBot can compensate for the drawbacks of Grammarly and assist EFL writers in improving their overall writing quality.

Quality characteristics of fermented vinegar prepared with Seomaeyaksuk (Artemisia argyi H.) extract (섬애약쑥 주정 추출물로 제조한 발효식초의 품질특성)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the quality characteristics of vinegars containing jaceosidin and eupatilin using Artemisia argyi H. ethanol extract (AEE). 10% malt extract (ME) and water extract of Artemisia argyi H. (AWE) were also prepared for vinegar production. Three kinds of materials were mixed in the same amount to prepare vinegar as follows; CO (ME, water, 18% edible ethanol), SE (ME, water, and AEE), SW (ME, AWE, and 18% edible ethanol) and SM (ME, AWE, AEE). All samples were fermented by Acetobacter pasteurianus A8 at $30^{\circ}C$ for 25 days and analyzed at 10, 15, 20 and 25 days. The pH decreased significantly during the fermentation. pH was lower in SE and SM than CO and SW. The acidity increased significantly during the fermentation, and was highest in SM (4.44%) at 25 days of fermentation. The concentration of acetic acid was higher than other organic acids for all vinegars. Jaceosidin and eupatilin were not detected in both CO and SW, but both were detected in the SE and SM. At 25 days of fermentation, jaceosidin and eupatilin concentrations in SE and SM were 6.49-6.88 mg/kg and 2.23-2.24 mg/kg, respectively. From these results, we confirmed that production of vinegar containing jaceosidin, eupatilin and phenolic compounds can be prepared by using Artemisia argyi H. edible ethanol extract.

Analysis of timing characteristics of interconnect circuits driven by a CMOS gate (CMOS 게이트에 의해서 구동되는 배선 회로의 타이밍 특성 분석)

  • As silicon geometry shrinks into deep submicron and the operating speed icreases, higher accuracy is required in the analysis of the propagation delays of the gates and interconnects in an ASIC. In this paper, the driving characteristics of a CMOS gate is represented by a gatedriver model, consisting of a linear resistor $R_{dr}$ and an independent ramp voltage source $V_{dr}$ . We drivered $R_{dr}$ and $V_{dr}$ as the functions of the timing data representing gate driving capability and an effective capacitance $C_{eff}$ reflecting resistance shielding effect by interconnet circuits. Through iterative applications of these equations and AWE algorithm, $R_{dr}$ , $V_{dr}$ and $C_{eff}$ are comuted simulataneously. then, the gate delay is decided by $C_{eff}$ and the interconnect circuit delay is determined by $R_{dr}$ and $V_{dr}$ . this process has been implemented as an ASIC timing analysis program written in C language and four real circuits were analyzed. In all cases, we found less than 5% of errors for both of gate andinterconnect circuit delays with a speedup factor ranging from a few tens to a few hundreds, compared to SPICE.SPICE.

  • Increasing network traffic and multimedia application services need realtime analysis of network traffic for improvement of QoS and effective management of network resource. Because difficulty of measurement based on software method, study of meter architecture for efficient capture function is necessary. Therefore we design and implement hardware metering system for efficient packet capture using embedded linux. And we analyze required bandwidth of system bus and memory for 10Gbps traffic through simulation.

  • The anterior interosseous syndrome is an entrapment neuropathy which can be caused by several different etiologies. It is also clinically known that it weakens flexor pollicis longus, flexor digitorum profundus to the index and long fingers without loss of finger sensory. We have experienced anterior interosseous syndrome which found to be rare to ordinary conservative treatment, i.e. application of Kenny-Howard brace, given to a patient with acromioclavicular separation type III. We also review related articles.
